Sinkhole appears in Charlotte Motor Speedway infield

You have to read about the movie review that they found in the sinkhole ...Thought you would get a laugh. Copied and pasted from a News website covering a sinkhole at the Charlotte Motor Speedway: CABARRUS COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Crews working to fill a sinkhole that has developed in the infield at Charlotte Motor Speedway have discovered a few relics of the past dating back more than 30 years. The sinkhole developed on the backstretch side near one of the camping areas according to Scott Cooper, vice president of communications at the speedway. (Click here to view a live web cam from the CMS infield) The sinkhole is in an area that was built over a landfill. The hole developed Friday night following all of the rain last week from remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole. The sinkhole is the result of a deteriorated pipe that was installed underneath the landfill about 35 feet below the surface of the ground. The sinkhole, however, does not affect the 1.5-mile racetrack. During the dig to find the damaged pipe, workers found a copy of "The Charlotte News" newspaper dated July 16, 1977. The headline on the paper was "North Korea Releases Crewman" and focused on a surviving American military pilot and the bodies of three crewman whose helicopter was shot down over communist territory. The paper also contained a movie review of "Star Wars" which was released in theatres of May that year. The article highlighted a relatively unknown actor who the author said may have a bigger and brighter future ahead of him. That actor was Harrison Ford. During the dig on Wednesday, crews also found a clear, 2 liter Coca-Cola bottle and step ladder. On Tuesday, speedway officials said crews had replaced one section of the deteriorated drainage pipe. "We've still got three more new sections of pipe measuring 4 feet tall and 20 feet long to go," Cooper said. "We're in a race now before the race to get it fixed at this rate." The next step will involve backfilling the dirt and repaving part of the infield road track before the race next Friday. Cooper says the repairs should not affect the Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race on Oct. 15, or the Bank of America Sprint Cup Series race on Oct. 16. You can use this tutorial below. You will need to get a piece of ABS. RC car and hobby shops carry small pieces (8-1/2" by 11")to be able to do it like the tutorial. ----- Or you can use model putty filler like you get at a hobby store. Model putty filler comes in different shades, try to get the white. Either way, get something to back the hole with, like the ABS from the hobby store or the "FOR SALE BY OWNER" plastic signs that you get at hardware stores.

I agree with you on the illustration that Paul put up. Whoever did it, was "tongue in cheek" poking a bit of fun at both sides. I have seen cost cutting on both sides, where I have literally wanted to rip my eyes out when seeing some of the TK's and Mando's efforts that are not up to par. What I meant about individuallity is coming up with the paint schemes and design work on decent looking armor and helmets, not cardboard and cheap Halloween lids.

I know I am going to have rotten fruit and vegetables thrown at me because this is a site dedicated to TK's, but I wouldn't have the name Rogue if it wasn't in my nature. I think both ends of the spectrum has its appeal. The TK enthusiast are extremely diligent and have a drive to be screen accurate or at least for the most part. When someone builds a suit of armor to a very strict guideline and does it very well, other TK enthusiast see your dedication and acknowledge your work. It becomes a sense of pride in accomplishing a suit of armor that stands up to what you see on the screen. With the Mandalorian, I think it shows a flair of individuality to put your own spin on the armor/costume. Some people don't like having to fit into a strict guideline, but want to stand out and give it their own touch. I think both of them have their own place in the costuming/prop world and that what makes it interesting.

The bubble lenses will make you as drunk as a fiddlers wife. If you are doing an ANH Hero, or an ROTJ TK you are going to have to learn to live with it because that's the way they are. If you are doing an ANH Stunt or ESB TK, then you should be going with the flat lenses anyway. The flat lenses are a lot better than the bubble lens, but anyway you go your are still goind to have some vision impairment. -
If you are talking about the forum account. It usually can take up to 24 hours to get activated. If it has been over that period of time, then contact their forums' administrative staff,(via their email, not PM) and tell them when you registered and that you have not received a follow up email with your password. They should be able to get it straightened out for you...

Hey I just don't want to see you get something you will regret. As for Nathan, Old Runnriottt is stationed over there. He maybe working on military time Just wait a few days, if you have not heard back from him, just shoot him another PM. As for the Japanese Garrison, don't know Are you posting on their forum, and not getting a response???

It looks to be FX or AFX, or a recast of an FX or AFX... <_< From the pic, it doesn't look like it has the drop boxes and the scope on the blaster looks totally wrong. At this point it still has roughly six hours until the end of the auction and it is over $500+ S&H at this point. For that kind of money, you could get an ATA kit (which is more accurate)and you won't be putting money into something you will regret, by having to put money into replacing or modifying pre-existing stuff. You said in your greetings from Japan: "I'm just working on a budget of about $700 including shipping costs right now". ATA is going to be well in your budget and have some coins left over. You can put those coins towards the right blaster, an unused undersuit, holster, boots, belt, etc. If you don't have all the money for everything, do like everyone else, buy a little as you go along. You said when you introduced yourself that you wanted to learn the basic skills. I would suggest getting a new kit and not buying someones hand me downs, especially at a premium price. Nathan (Runnriottt) said if you need help, just contact him. Since you are over on the Japanese Garrison's forum, there should be a lot of people there that will help you with your build. But if you are just wanting something to wear for Halloween, then go for it. But if you are serious about having a nice TK suit and want ot be a part of the 501st, then I would say, stay away from Ebay when it comes to your armor needs, because you will only regret it.

HWT clearence pictures
RogueTrooper replied to tk8428's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Hey Blaine, I read your other post about the trouble that you are having getting your HWT passed without a bazooka. I dug into my officially licensed Star Wars Graphic Novels (Comic Books) and found a couple of things that might help you. The illustrations are from Dark Horse Comics titled Empire "Princess Warrior" - Part 1 of 2 and Part 2 of 2. Part 1 of 2, there is a battle on the planet Ralltiir. The planet is not a desert planet, but has water and greenery, no mention of sand. The illustration shows clean looking armor, field pack, pauldron, ammo pouches, and them using weapons other than a bazooka. From what my eyes are telling me, these are not Sandtroopers, since they are not on a desert planet or sandy terrain. So, I can only assume that they are HWT. In Part 2 of 2, there is another battle on a planet called Kattada. There is no mention in the comic book of any desert or sand. From the photos I see it is more of a water/tropical environment. If you look at the illustration below you will see clean armor, field packs, pauldrons, ammo pouches and they are using weapons other than a bazooka. Since this planet does not look like a desert planet, I am assuming that the troops would be considered HWT's not Sandtroopers. If I find anything else, I will post it -

The HWT can have an MG-34/DLT-19, Lewis Gun/T-21 or Heavy Bazooka. But you said you don't want the bazooka. Also, if a Lewis gun is used, it should have a ribbed barrel and carrying strap (T-21 conversion) You may also have, MG-15, MG-42 All of these guns can be referenced here and over at the MEPD.net and your GML should have the info as well. -
