  4. Finally got my prints back from Corellia Creations and they look amazing! The brow came back a bit warped, but once it's affixed to the rest of the helmet you'll never know. But I'm going to experiment with some rubber trim first and decide which looks best as I get into it. The alignment keys worked fantastic and it virtually holds itself together. I did use some tape between parts so I could handle it (except for the brow trim, that's held on with fun-tak). I temporarily attached some test pieces I had made previously, but I intend to reprint them. Here's some preliminary shots of the raw print.

  8. Hi, Everyone! After many years of wanting to build my own femtrooper armor, I am finally taking the leap by building a FEM7 kit! My kit arrived in the mail a couple of days ago, and I have since been removing a good amount of the excess material as I work toward the measuring and fitting phase. As I am still very early on in my build, I hope to be able to use this forum to ask for advice and seek feedback from those who have experience building any of the various stormtrooper kits! Thank you to @Vicky_Velocipanda for encouraging me to discuss my build here! I'll make a post with some of my progress photos so far in a little bit!

  9. Hello everyone. I'm finally jumping in after decades of "being too busy". I have my heart set on an RS prop masters kit. Just waiting for their next run. Very much looking forward to getting it and putting it together. I'll be happily spotting until I can troop myself. Thanks for having me.

  10. Update: Arm straps snap system installed. Chest and back are connected. No 1/4 inch elastic yet. I had one snap pull through the shoulder upon removal of the armor. I think I know the problem though. The snap had to be removed and repositioned and I think it got damaged. Will replace with whole new strap as now the hole in the middle is torn too wide for a new snap. Not sure what to do about the shoulder bells pulling the white elastic out of position to be exposed. When I replace it I might glue it in to the shoulder pieces up to the ends to give more resistance. Now that the forearms and biceps are strapped together I am understanding more about pinch and limited mobility. I don’t really want to go to the larger bells. I have a set. But they just look too big. Thoughts?

  19. I can add that in no problem. As all things this is only a first draft to make sure it looked different at a glance with the other wiki origin docs I have ready and waiting for photos and language. I'll make the change when I'm back home from a work regional trip on Wednesday. I shall add that to the context section, so it is clear.

  20. You could use some cheap plastic paint sheets to hang over the door/opening, I also setup a box, cut both ends and have a fan inside pointing outside, also tape the sheet around the box, this helps to expel excess spray in the air as well as stop particles and bugs from coming in and using the clear sheets you still have light. I also use acrylic automotive paint which dries quickly so less likely to get anything landing on it while drying, but also with clear coats you can buff/compound any impurities once fully dried.

  21. Hi Jonathan. You are right. We have looked at the different options and we believe that the best option is the one you mention (the bottom is more snug to the top of your knee and the ridge is angular). And as Glen rightly pointed out, mobility cuts can help with appearance. However, it is your GML who must approve it at the base level, so before making any modifications, you will have to ask him for his opinion about it. Keep it up Jonathan, you are doing a fantastic job... Congratulations!!!!

  22. Really depends on your make of armor, take my ATA it would only allow 1 large tab and 2 1/2 - 3 small tabs, otherwise it goes over the ridge. Screen show 1 large tab and 4 1/2 to 5 small tabs. There is no requirement of how many tabs just check you have enough overlapping the back plate before gluing You can also remove the rear large tab (or cut it in half) if you have enough coverage

  23. This is all in fun, as I have received several messages offering to help, but a lot of the time, this is how it feels. But that's okay, I enjoy my ability to give back to the detachment.
