We send her off with love in our hearts, and will miss her dearly even as she is welcomed into the Hall of Eternal Legionnaires. "Buckets Off" Jamie G Hypes, SL-50574 (or "Soup" to those who knew him best) was a member of Ohio Garrison. He endured a hard-fought battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer and found peace in the end. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. "Buckets Off" Eternal Legionnaire Gallery: https://www.501st.com/members/memoriam.php Greetings fellow Stormtroopers April is the month of Celebration London a most wonderful event for those lucky to be able to attend. I hope to see plenty of photos posted on our forums and across our Social media platforms of the fabulous time everyone is having, and I hope you get to meet plenty of fellow TK members from around the world. Keep an eye open for some of the FISD staff who will be attending, try and make it to the group photos where you will find an FISD banner which you can sign. For me it's a truly memorable moment and should form part of your "must do" list. As always there is loads happening on FISD, the coin run has closed, Celebration Patch run is closed and they are shipping, and we are on the cusp of launching the FISD shield pin sales run. We had a HUGE response in the interest thread, so be ready for this one to go live very soon. Whats ahead: You may have noticed a few random post here on the forums, and across our new Discord group as other SM platforms The 1500, ring any bells to anyone? We are officially launching our latest Expert Infantry campaign "Advance to 1500" Remember "March to 1000", and subsequent, "Victory 1000", a huge milestone for the detachment reaching 1000 members approved to level 2 Expert Infantry! Every member that takes the steps to build their amour to our higher levels, is moving closer and closer to a more accurate costume. It's those finer details we are known for and we love to push for targets and celebrate achievement with wonderful merch items. Our end goal will be to achieve 1500 approved at EI level "The 1500". Now this is a long term goal, which means we can keep momentum rolling over the duration with incentives and drivers to keep members pushing for better costuming. We intend to have a launch merch item for the journey we are undertaking which is "Advance to 1500", and are looking to start getting this out in the coming months. Your staff have been planning several different incentive items to help us move towards the finish line so be prepared for some exclusive to EI approved members only, and even items all members can get behind to help promote and advance us to the end. These merch items will be additional to our standard and exclusive to new EI only coins. Remember you can only ever purchase one EI coin, they are numbered and we keep records dating back to the first run. We currently sit at 1059 approved EI members with a clear goal to reach 1500. With the help of our Attache's and members around the planet get the word out, talk with your unit members who are keen to become TK's and guide them to our Expert infantry section of the forums. They are easy upgrades to make while building your armour plus access to some cool merch and a bit of fun along the way. I'm sure everyone will be excited to get cracking on this new adventure in Advance to 1500! Stay tuned for updates and special merch incentives coming soon. With Unquestioned Loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 "Sly11" Detachment Leader Helloooo fellow (and future) TKs! 2023 has been a busy year so far for many of us. New merch is rolling out, Celebration, and of course the "Advance to 1500"! As Andrew mentioned this is a longer term goal than our usual programs, but we need to get the word out and keep it out there in order to maintain the momentum over the long haul. Quick note re: this - I have been on more than one troop sporting my FISD racing shirt and been asked "What is the FISD"? Not unusual, but these questions were from 501st approved TKs! (Seriously). Apparently, many only read/follow the requirements listed in the CRL without checking out the links provided to the FISD and are unaware that we are the end-all-be-all for everything white-armor related. The amount of resources and help here are phenomenal, but we need to let people know we exist! I am currently working on an idea that will be in conjunction with many of our "vetted" armorers to get the word out to new builders that we are here to assist with anything that a future TK may need: Armor, advice, resources, etc. not to mention some great camaraderie! If we want to reach the goal of 1500 EI's, we need to ensure that they build to those standards from the start by suggesting build threads and continuing to offer sound, friendly advice as well as encouragement and confidence. As per our motto "Troopers helping Troopers" those are areas in which we excel like no other Detachment, IMO, and this is thanks to you, our members. Keep on doing what you are doing, know that the time you spend here and the inspiration you provide to those who need it is truly appreciated, and with your help we will reach our goal of 1500 in record time! With Unquestioned Loyalty Joseph Pedigo TK-10963 "justjoseph63" Executive Officer Greeting White Armor Members! Friendly neighborhood merch trooper here! FISD Celebration patch Celebration Patches have been shipping and I hope all those attending received their shipments! The rest will be going out over the next week or so. FISD/Legion 25th Anniversary Coin In what was a bit of a surprise to me, The coin order arrived about 3 to 4 weeks earlier than expected. So I have been starting to ship combined packages for those that I hadn't shipped patches to yet. Once those combined shipment have been made, I will return to shipping the remainder of the coins. FISD Shield Pin Run The pin run has been approved by Legion and LFL. I will start checking with members that signed up on the interest thread to verify their orders, and then we will open the run to the rest of the Detachment. This run will close at the end of April or when we sell out of pins. More info to follow. I hope everyone that is attending enjoys Celebration, and travels to and from safely. It has now finally been confirmed that a changing area has been allocated to us for the event and it will be one-half of one of the big halls there. The hall will be shared between the 501st and the adult Galactic Senate Clubs. Unfortunately due to safeguarding requirements we feel that allowing GA members into the changing hall would not be appropriate. There will be 10 pop-up areas within the hall for those that wish to change with a little more privacy. CAVEAT: ReedPOP have informed us that the other half of the hall will be used for something else but at this point cannot tell us what. I have asked if we will have our own entrance to our half of the hall that we can man for security or will others need to use the entrance and if so would they have some kind of ID on them and they could not answer that either. However at this late stage we cannot wait any longer to post this so if we find out we don't have exclusive access then we will have to decide the best way forward at that time. IMPORTANT: CHANGING HALL REGISTER – SIGN-UP To ensure everyone’s belongings left in the changing hall remain safe we need to monitor who uses the hall. As such if you wish to use the changing hall at any time during the event please could you add your name to this register: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aYzZwRE3UD_AVI4QB1nOumjxVl-ayTlZP1dIv43xPdA/edit?usp=sharing CHANGING HALL DOOR VOLUNTEERS We also cannot ensure the safety of everyone’s belongings without some volunteers to man the door and check those wanting entrance against the register of those that have signed up to use the hall. Current forum banner supplied by gmrhodes13 Thread here for entries Retail Embargo Lift For most of the year we are under an embargo from LFL and can not attend retail locations unless prior approval has been given by them. At certain times of the year this embargo is lifted, generally around Blu-Ray / movie releases, May 4th and Force Friday, the recent correspondence from LFL outlines the lift of the embargo: "While there is currently a retail moratorium on character appearances in effect, it is being lifted during the following days: 29th April - 7th MayAll fans, costumed or otherwise, can participate with venues of their choice within these windows with the restriction that costumed appearances must not be used in the advertising for the event. Although these appearances will be treated like an open invite, we’ll leave it to the fan groups to independently organize around these events as they see fit. LFL will not need to approve or coordinate these. Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. In the coming weeks and months, we may send out a list of ‘preferred' retailers from certain regions who would welcome fans to participate at their venues within these event windows, but you are all still welcome to make plans with appropriate retailers or venue hosts of your choice regardless of whether or not they appear on the list. Thanks everyone, and thanks for all you do!" "Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. If the retail location does not stock Star Wars products you should NOT be attending." *Please Note* Always follow your garrison/squad's guidelines when in comes to organising Disney/LFL promotional troops, only command staff can deal direct with LFL. 12. I use a technique where you attache a 2B pencil to an eraser or small piece of wood with an elastic band. You then run the block around the outline of the top of thigh and scribe a line in the exact same shape as the original shape you simply hold the block and pencil at a 90 degree angle angle so the tip of the pencil contact the surface and away you go. You can use the same technique to shorten the shins from the bottom. I'll get a photo up when I have a minute and it will make perfect sense.

  13. I would definitely agree with trimming from the top. Follow the shape and contour of the top edge and trim down. The screen used suits had no return edge so you are fine to remove it. Align the two halves at the bottom and leave the ridge intact. Trust me it will work out fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
