  1. GREAT start. James! I think you could use a few more clamps, though..

  3. Update on my thighs now that the glue has cured in the inner front strip i resized and cut the back seam for the rear cover strips. I was able to bring the area close to the knee in a little more and the upper portion out to the edge to make a little more triangle shape. Admittedly this is as triangular as I’ll get because my thighs are obnoxiously barrel shape. But I think it fits and looks much better. You can especially see the difference near the knees, it’s pretty uniform with my leg shape and less kingdom hearts shorts. I will document my process more in the thigh section. 4. Once again, time to start another journey of armor building. I just put a down payment for a Dave’s DarkSide Depot armor set. I’ve heard he is one of the better options for larger troopers and my thighs and calves definitely need absolutely all the width I can get compared to some kits. All those squats make armor worse to fit lol. Anywho, just like my FO build kit I will detail the process here. I’m having Dave build the helmet out for me just because I’m not full of time in life like before, but beyond that I will build the rest. I am aiming to get centurion status. Components Hard Parts Helmet and Armor Kit - Dave's Darkside Depot (AM 4.5 or 5.0) E-11 Blaster - link removed by staff (agreed on by me) This being said I eventually will work to get a more extreme level of accuracy in a blaster. For now I will live with what I have. I share this note here just to recommend others don’t follow my same mistake in vendor selection for the blaster and instead look for a different vendor as shared in the post above. 5. From my understanding with shins, the front should be 10mm from return edge on each side, so you’d essentially be measuring how it fits from the back side remnants as is for the best look. I trimmed and glued the fronts at that 10mm per side 20mm cover strip and haven’t sized them up on my calves yet either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Already glued them at 4:30 am before I left for work so I could play with them a little when I get home. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

  10. E6000 Is were it's at! I've been sweating this all day wondering if they were wrong. I'll get pictures up after I get them back together. Thanks.

  11. Man, FN1313 has got a good eye considering I didn't even really post a picture of them when he saw they were backward! They were in the background of my shin picture!

  12. Hopefully you can get those separated fairly easily, Terry. It looks as if you may have trimmed a bit too much off of the outside pieces (but let's hope not). Note how the outsides are normally higher: Once you get them apart you will be able to tell better, and If that is the case don't sweat it too much or let it get you down. I've seen far worse setbacks, and I'm sure Dave can get you sorted out with some new ones if needed.

  14. I’ll definitely defer to a member more familiar with the armor as I’m still building it myself, but the way you have your thighs glued together it looks like you’ve glued both the insides together and both the outsides together. References: Yours: Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  17. I've got a 850ArmorWorks R1TK set that I'm working on and I've seen a couple possible upgrades, one being rubber shoulder straps, and second being resin hand guards or potentially a styrene pattern. 11B30B4 has both on WhiteArmor but I had two problems, there is an inaccuracy on his straps, and I'm not sure he still offers them, and there is an error in his .stl for hand guards. With these roadblocks I fired up Fusion360 and got to work. As far as handguard progress goes, I started out by gathering as much reference on WhiteArmor as available that shows flatter profile shots of the hand guards from what I'd call top, thumb, and front profiles. I collected photos from R1, Mando and Kenobi, pretty much every tk post Disney acquisition. Here is reference folder so people can see, but if anyone has clearer, flatter views, please put them here and It will allow me to improve upon my files. Photo Reference Folder Here is my methodology thus far for how I'm trying to get an orthographic view of the planes I need to be able to throw together a 3d print model. I take my photos, scale and line them up along the edge of the thumb line Then I start making outline shapes Do that a lot of times and then you see the pattern forming I delete the outliers and take the widest shapes and start taking corners and averaging them in illustrator. Then do this with other important profiles. Thumb Front I arrived with this as the shape, but I've removed curves. The thumb has the flat average, which is wider, and the angled perspective view so I could have something to aim for when angling in the 3d model. And after working in Fusion360 this is where I am at. Please critique with photo reference and let me know how I can improve these files.

  19. Handguard Accuracy Update I will be using a set of cast resin handguards from Dantooine Props instead of the included vaccuum-formed plastic ones. After cleaning up the mold release and some light priming and sanding, they were painted in the same Behr Gloss White and attached to my gloves using white 2" industrial Velcro. These are super clean castings and make for a great upgrade! And mounted to gloves (more discussion on gloves in my Soft Goods Discussion post)...

  21. Started unboxing everything and putting them in the tote that the kit will live in when finished. Just to get it out of the cardboard box my wife wanted out of the house. LOL I'll be starting with the calves as they are one of the parts on my ATA kit that are just too small for me. I can't keep them secured currently. We have a big Con troop in two weeks and I want to be able to wear the TK, so I'll start there. Hopefully I'll have a few other part done as well. Thanks again to Dave Conklin from Dave's Darkside Depot for the new AM Armor. And @justjoseph63's flexible hand guards.
