  1. And here's a WTF build, go to page two about 3/4 down on the page

  2. There is generally no difference in the construction other than the details you're referring to (paint, screws, teeth cutouts, etc)

  3. I have a tk based on the kit from RWA. All great but the canvas belt frays a lot at the edges. I've just tried this stuff (from Dunelm, UK) and, touch wood, it seems to have sorted it without discolouring or otherwise negatively affecting the canvas Here's some pics of front and back of the belt. One edge is treated, the other not. I didn't trim loose ends before applying and smoothing the 'glue'. It's comes out of the tube like white latex glue, but dries rubbery and clear. I applied a thin coat across the edge and on the back side, but none on the face (just in case), then smooth and flattened with my fingers as it started to dry.

  4. Been a fan for a long time, so decided now its time to be a storm trooper, still an imposing sight for this man child, based in Trim, Co Meath but from Dublin originally Also a modelmaker/painter so always making, modifying and weathering stuff, mainly model railways, but also involved in organising of Ireland biggest model exhibition Will be a ESB TK eventually with 501st approval, will be taking my time for now, walking into this, not running Thanks to @welshchris77 for the recommendation

  5. Well...truth be told I don’t expect much at this point, I just hope like the rest that’s been waiting for a kit.

  6. This is another class action underway so hopefully there may still be some hope for some, if there's enough bickies left in the Anovos cookie jar

  7. Thanks Rich, the 501st Ireland Garrison finally made a return to Trooping recently, so was crewing/minding/handling on that , was good fun. Something to get more into as lockdown slowly departs our lives

  9. Hi Ed, Welcome to the forum. Good to have you here. Whatever stormtrooper type you decide on there's plenty of info and advice in the threads, and lots of other TKs who will want to help. As for the ESB TK, absolutely it's approveable; it's my current outfit. You can find the CRL (details needing for building) here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_esb Your basic clearance is handled by your local garrison, but there are further levels you can work towards for greater accuracy if you wish, and it's so much easier to have those in mind from the start. Those further levels are handled here, with details in the advanced tactics folder. They are known as Expert Infantry (level 2) and Centurion (level 3). If you have any questions about any part of your build please ask. Looking forward to seeing your build Rich

  10. That's funny Some here may recall after Anovos lost their license roughly 30+ kits that were sitting in a warehouse in China (Anovos owed a huge debt to and couldn't pay, shocker) all of a sudden were up for sale by a 3rd party. I found out who that 3rd party was and politely gave them a little flack because of the folks who were losing their arse. The armor sales and the individual all but disappeared. From time to time a kit shows up out of nowhere. Is it one of the 30+, or a older Alpha/Beta kit someone had sitting in their garage? Who knows If Anovos began producing armor again it will be a cold day in hell. I better keep a jacket around just in caser I have to eat my words That said, someone has the SW armor manufacturing hardware, somewhere.

  12. Hey. I'm going to be installing the Blast FX in my 3D-Props DLT within a few weeks. Just completed a cross country move and my hobby bench is not set up yet. The 3D-Props blaster was printed with an opening on the bottom just forward of trigger guard. This is meant to fit the rectangular "info / shot count" screen from Blast-FX. And you're right. There is no place on a "real" blaster for a scope display. I've hummed and hawed about where to put the two display screens as I don't think a "real" DLT would have it's display on the bottom of the blaster. Not convenient for the user... My possible solution: On the back of the rectangular box (left side of receiver) I am going to drill a hole to fit the scope display. The hole will be as close to the top of the box as possible. Just below this I will install the rectangular display. The rectangular display will sit slightly below the lower edge of the box, so I will have to jury-rig some kind of housing for it so it blends in. It won't be screen accurate, but it should look good and will be "functionally" correct as both displays will face the user. I'll try and post some pics within a couple days of the basic set-up. Dave

  13. I think the biggest issue unfortunately is that I have a long torso. Here are some pics with measurements.

  14. You want to try to make the bottom round where possible, no straight edges, makes fitting and keeping the S trim a little easier, notice the sides below, not inner point/angle, nice and curved You could also adjust one of your hovi tips, pointing outwards. I use small angle cut pieces of rubber tube, you place behind the hovi tip and move so the angle pushes the hovi to the position you want.

  19. Yeah I'm seeing what you mean, I can drop the teeth back maybe another Mil as there's already a distance there. Maybe the chamfer is making it look a lot smaller too, will play around with that. Yeah I agree, the brow does make a big difference! I forgot to add the shell modifier so thats why the teeth look so thin, it's currently got 0 thickness. Will post up some pics tomorrow. Sleep time I thinks. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

  20. Hey all!! Just checking in for the first time as an official TK, having been approved late last evening!! My name is Joe, from the Imperial 80th Squad of the 501st Legion’s Central Garrison, and I’m very excited to now be a part of the FISD..! Like some, I decided to make becoming a member of the 501st Legion part of a silver lining to the year that was 2020… I’ve been very fortunate to have built and assembled together with a ton of help from family, friends, and forum members, a handful of approved costumes, the latest and very recent of which has been an original A New Hope Stormtrooper…!

  21. RE the CRL: I believe Nicker was talking to Sly various weeks back as he had finished and I think it was in the writing, so fingers crossed! And yes, 3D printing is marvelous but a tremendous amount of work does go into every piece

  22. I know it doesn't seem like it, but it has taken weeks to print, sand, fill, sand and prep this weapon for paint. I really like the results though! I am not going to paint it until the CRL is live. Next step: finish the tanks.
