  1. Thank you, Dan..!! And thank you for the feedback!! As luck would have it, I do still have the extra right ear, and that is definitely something that’s been catching my eye every time I see it, especially toward the bottom of the tube; the ear piece itself looks too thick where it meets and gets tucked into the s-trim... That bottom screw also doesn’t sit as flush as I’d like... I think I’m gonna tinker with the existing ear and see if maybe taking some of that extra flash off the front will slim that down a bit... I know the holes are already drilled and that could affect how it sits on the back, but worse case scenario I replace the ear entirely and just match the existing screw holes to the new ear.

  2. I am aiming for ANH stunt in Japan. I am currently making armor. I joined to get a lot of tips. I made it while consulting with my friend's 501st member. I can only speak a little English. So I use Google Translate. sorry.

  3. Once you get the rough areas on the ridges sanded down, I don't see any issues holding you back from any level, James. SUPER nice job on these, and all that extra work is definitely paying off!

  4. Great job on this helmet so far, trooper. The paint work is looking excellent. :-) If you still have the second set of ears that came with the helmet, I’d maybe consider trying a slimmer version of the right ear (when worn). As below, it looks like your’s still has quite a bit of return edge/flashing within the curve, making this side look a little thick compared with the other side. As I say, not a big deal, just something that caught my eye. :-) Best wishes Dan

  7. The closest I got after several mistakes and retries. What do you guys think... would this pass Basic Approval? What about L3? I haven't attached the cover strips yet, as if it's not passible for either, I'll probably paint the thigh entirely. The trouble wasn't just getting the right color, it was the blending from the airbrush's overspray. If I'm going to redo the entire thigh, I'll probably bondo over the unevenness of the shims and re-sculpt the rear. 9. Hi Chris and welcome to the FISD! I will tell you that research is key here. The more you read then the more you learn. I will tell you with your measurements you should be looking hard at AM armor. You can contact Dave's Darkside Depot on facebook. If you don't have facebook then you can PM Dave here on the forums under the name Triple D. He is an awesome guy. AM Armor is geared more towards the heavier trooper. The set of armor gives you plenty of extra added plastic in the areas that you may need most. Most sets of armor will fit anywhere between 34-36 inch waist but AM fits a much larger waist size. If you have any other questions then don't be afraid to ask.

  10. UPDATE May 2021: Imperial Arms 3D just released their V4 blaster today, which, based on this feedback on my build, has addressed all of the placement and accuracy issues (keyhole, knurled sights, some missing screw spots, and most notably, the scope and hengstler counter locations). Imperial Arms V4 E-11 blaster The only thing people might consider modding is to make an aluminum rail like I did, but his kit is now much easier to build "off the rack" now. Just be sure to do the work, and finish those print lines!
