  2. Oh! Good to know! I love carrying a BFG while trooping. You know the saying... Speak softly and carry a BFG. More lid work today. I decided to remove some additional thickness off the right ear even though it was fitting fairly well. I was able to reduce the small gap in the front as well. I would prefer to get the front half of the curved part of the ears thinner, but after looking at things a while, I don't want to risk mucking things up. They're fine as they are. Worked on the left ear as well. Worked really hard to get the screws lined up with the angles of the traps. This was a super P.I.T.A.! Which is why I don't want to try to change the thickness of the ears at this point. It's all good enough! Once I was done with the ears, on went the frown. A bit of gloss grey, some clean up with thinner, and I'm calling it a day for now. And if anyone sees something "off", please feel free to let me know!

  3. Automotive compound polish is a little more abrasive and may help. I found black dye had run out of my FOTK armor pouches I had made and since change to another fabric.

  7. The box arrived yesterday! Everything is in great shape. No cracks anywhere. I took some photos for my ANH brother's showing some of the differences. I'm meeting with my painter friend tonight to go over prep procedures. I'm super excited to get going.

  8. So we did a preliminary test fit of most of the parts (didn't quite have the arm pieces ready yet) and any needed return edge trimming has commenced, as well as gluing down the nylon snap plates into the torso pieces to get it ready for strapping. Meanwhile I was not satisfied with trying to fit the Thermal Detonator endcaps over the provided pipe. So I took some measurements and a few hours later I have a properly sized 3D printed pipe and a perfect fit with the endcaps. Now time to sand and paint it. (If anyone building a Legacy needs one of these, PM me. )

  10. Hey Nada Definitely fans in helmet. You'll regret it if you don't. Talk to Sly11 re fans Regarding the amp/fx etc, I started my journey with an AKer amp and just a headset mic. I didn't get an iComm as I kept putting it off and to be honest the Aker by itself was fine. Then I went bats$#t crazy and went with a TRAMP setup from the UK - Bluetooth mic in the helmet and the amp/speaker in my chestplate. It has built in chirps, loops, the whole shebang. I also have the remote in my glove to prompt TK quotes on cue. TOTAL OVERKILL but I love it! But be warned - the cost from the UK to OZ is pricey. https://www.facebook.com/trooperamp/ - I thought if I'm going to do it I may as well go the whole hog, right?

  11. Thank you; it sounds like I’m most likely going to get it for a good audio system having everything installed just in the helmet so there is no wires going out of the helmet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. I have decided to wait and won’t be going to fast into I’m currently looked about after the hype and found out I get either a trimmed kit of AP with a finished helmet with boots and neck seal from Imperial Boots in around 6 months if I save everything I have till then I will be able to get everything and finish it and slim down for it! Way better plan then I had before tbh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Thank you for your link! Your original mistake with your RS forearm was what I was afraid of doing. But looking at what you did to you WTF, that makes sense. Attach the front and curve and equally trim both back pieces. A man is grateful for your help.

  17. Lid work. No ears. Can you hear me now? Ear! Loook, it's like my hubby's lid and my lid are cuddling. Awwww.... And me prepping for tomorrow's troop. I love sticker-ing up the bin! And bringing my spankin' new Praetorian DLT-19 along with! (Thanks, Mr. Cricket! {best hubbie EVAH!}) Maybe I'll let him borrow it trooping one day.

  18. Thanks Rob and thanks to everyone here. I have some big boots to fill! As Rob mentioned, we have been collaborating for a while. If you have gotten armor from RT-MOD over the last year and a half or so, I probably made your armor in my workshop. We have actually been working, planning and updating things long before that. I have been working hard on updating many pieces of the armor. I am guessing that I have upgraded probably 85% of the armor. Some improvements involved sharpening the bucks, or creating new bucks altogether in order to create more accurate (as accurate as fan made as can be) and up to date armor shapes. The vast majority of the improvements have been to align with the ANH look and what people have requested for Centurion level kits. All of the armor now feature deeper return edges, for those wanting to install strapping brackets on the torso or to create a more accurate look. An all new abdomen buck was created with separate ab button panels and button strips (they were molded in previously). All new kidney with an aligned kidney notch was made. New biceps, forearms and hand guards were made from scratch. Thighs are available in different sizes. A larger back was created for bigger troopers. The most exciting news is that the helmet now features a one piece "cap and back" as the previous helmets had separate cap and back pieces. Some bucks are still being refined to make them ready to use, but the vast majority are ready to go and have been in use for some time. Please stay tuned for updates. Thanks for your patience during this time as contact info is updated, new supplies are being ordered, plastics manufactured and shipped, work space re-organized, shipping providers updated as well as some cool new and exciting additions. As Rob mentioned, this is a part time hobby and I will try to help support builders and costumers when time allows. I have a family now and that takes priority, but I will do my best. I will be updating this thread with photos and information when it becomes available, along with detailed descriptions of all the new armor updates and improvements. Thanks for your continued support! Terry

  19. I've recommended and seconded AM countless times, and I'll do it again- I love my AM 2.0. I'm 5'11'' and the bigger aspect of it fits women's hips in addition to larger people in general. It will easily do taller people, as well. And if you're thinner/smaller, you can trim it (I trimmed a TON off my forearms). And that stuff is tough! I've knocked pieces off and they've been no worse for the wear. Very good thickness. Customer service was also good.
