  1. What's up FISD, my name is Freddy, and I'm a student and long-time Star Wars fan from Duisburg, Germany. I've recently picked up an ANOVOS ANH Stormtrooper kit as well as an ANH E11 Blaster Kit consisting of a DoopyDoo's resin kit and T-Jay's completion kit. After a lot of reading and research I am going to start building it properly in the next couple of days, and as T-Jay suggested, I am also going to document my progress here. As I am an absolute beginner when it comes to cosplaying and crafting stuff in general (I was always more of a "I'll just buy it finished" sort of guy, but students don't have that much money to spare...sigh), I am really looking forward to getting advice from this all-international community with soooo much experience! So yeah, I'll keep you updated, and if anyone has tips and tricks, hints etc. for me, all of it is appreciated, I'll accept any help I can get! Looking forward to a brilliant and fun time together! Freddy (hopefully an approved TK soon)

His team is willing to do a production run in January, pending interest from the community. I have asked for a quote... based on other similar designs, I expect these boots will run in the $100 range. https://www.imperialboots.com/ Please post up here if you're interested in the run. Looks like we had enough interest for Vincent to start a run on Jan 8th!

  4. Welcome back Daniel and thank you for your Centurion application. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos are present. Thank you for making the updates suggested during your EIB application. Andrew and I are pleased to say your armor displays all the elements as set out in the Centurion CRL. Congratulate and welcome to Centurion rank!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: We have nothing to add here. Beautiful job on your build Daniel. Time to head out and make the Empire and your garisson proud.

  11. Test fit the second. I added snaps to my garters to hold my thighs in place, and fixed my drop boxes in place on my soft belt. Here is a better shot. No thermal detonator on, as I am still gluing the fuzzy size velcro on it so it doesn't scratch up my armour. Also of note, my drop boxes are now fixed in place on the soft belt so they don't move. My hand is holding it out of the way when it is in the resting position. I still need to paint the rivets on my thigh, touch up my buttons, add elastic to the shoulder straps, rivet my holster strap in place to hold the E-11 down...a few other things I am sure.

  12. I started today off taking inventory of the Anovos-supplied strapping (instructions stink for this, BTW): I'm going with the Velcro for now for some of the connections, such as back/kidney/posterior. I'm going to use the industrial strength stuff (already have some on hand as you can see) - not the Anovos supplied as the glue just doesn't seem to stick to anything. I'll give it a few troops and if I'm not happy I can always remove it and go to snaps all the way. Cut down some split rivets to make snap rivets (my term) as I've seen others do: Then gave them a light scuffing and some paint (I've been using a Rustoleum enamel lacquer spray paint, seems pretty durable): Afterwards I marked out the holes for the ab/kidney where they're going to go, and then added some reinforcement shimming (assume this spot will get the most stress on it, and especially after cutting down my ab plate, better safe than sorry): (forgot to grab a picture of the kidney side, also shimmed, before it got dark) Then it was time to trim up the ab button plates: And finally, sizing/trimming of the forearms!: (Not quite done, but I'm tired and it's dark out) Hoping to wrap up the torso and forearms this weekend and then get started on the biceps/shoulders... then legs, strapping, and (hopefully) trooping!

  15. The cod rivet is less than 1/2" from the edge. No wonder I am seeing all these badly placed rivets with advice like this from Tony.

  16. A little more progress today.... I’ve started to glue the snaps on the arm in place Oh the glued buttons on the belt And started to polish the armour, with auto glym high resign polish, don’t the tight thigh and right greave.... will give it all an initial polish with this and finish off with a final polish with the stormtrooper polish I got from the Imperial Supply Depot [emoji3] Pleased with the results so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. Congrats! Great looking armor. I'm using this and a few other builds while I work on my own, hoping to reach this level myself soon, but I'm currently. still waiting for my 501st approval to go through.

  18. Black Nomex flight gloves. Sooo comfy. Very good tactile feedback. Available all over the place. I've been told the ones at this link are great (tho mine came from elsewhere), and this is among the cheaper prices I've seen: ---------
