  2. Ok. Thanks to my wife, Rachael, I have started initial fitting. Open to any and all constructive criticism. I have it fitted with industrial Velcro. The breast plate and the backplate are touching at the shoulders. Will I need to trim these back? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. All trimmed and ready to start fitting. And, my E11 M38 from Praetorian Blasters came Monday! Also, Ukswrath's Anovos TK build instructions says for L3 approval the return edge needs to be removed on the lower edge of the forearms and shins. Does anyone have a reference photo of this they can post? Thanks!

  7. Hi Tim! Congrats and welcome to the FISD!
  8. The good news: A few months and Operation Slimfast was a success. I've lost 30 lbs and went from a 36 to about a 33 inch waist. Before: After: The bad news: While it fits better (and I feel better) I don't think it's enough. Nor is any further weight loss sustainable with my current, somewhat sedimentary, lifestyle. The truth is, it wasn't really that hard to lose the weight that I did but if I slouch off, I'd be hard pressed to fit into my suit. Additionally, the fit is currently pretty snug as in nearly skin tight and I'm pretty sure I should have some wiggle/movement room within as well as the ability to slip some fingers in there to snap in on one side as I'm suiting up. These are all assumptions on my part since this is my first armor but please 'weigh' in (ahem) and correct me if you think I'm off. Conclusion: I've conceded that I think I need to add shims (approx 1/2-3/4 inch) on either side between the kidney and cod joints. I'm fine with doing that and have read up on numerous build threads for how to accomplish this but I do have some questions that I need guidance on. Should I add a shims to the cod or to the kidney? Or does it matter? I'm guessing Kidney but that will extend the bottom notch (the little right angle notch) horizontally about 1/2 inch on either side and is that acceptable or will that make it look strange or out of spec so to speak?

  10. Yeah each of the OT frowns are different. ANH grey teeth, ESB black teeth and ROTJ the entire frown is black, as you have them now. Sent from my 5054N using Tapatalk
  11. A great read in regards to different version TK's https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view
  12. Thanks for the heads up on the frown! The reference I've been using makes it look as though the frown was fully painted. Shouldn't be too hard of a fix, though! I am going with ANH. It's interesting to me the slight differences between the movies though. I had no idea the teeth were painted black in ESB I forgot to mention that I had also gotten most of the painting out of the way first before I started sticking parts together all willy-nilly like, so here is the other things I managed to get done! Gloves: Chest Panels: Please note ^^ these are getting touched up soon.
  13. Thanks Glen. I still need to make a folder for reference photos. Sent from my 5054N using Tapatalk

  15. Nothing better than a BBB. Have a look through some of the following threads, some great info for the heightwardly challenged https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38842-fragarocks-rs-stunt-build-not-to-scale/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/ Good luck with the build, looking forward to the progress
  16. Nice work, some teeth references:
  17. Some great threads on adding shims so they are seamless https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30226-side-shims-on-abkidney-help/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29077-adding-the-kidney-shim-not-bad-but/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30226-side-shims-on-abkidney-help/
  18. Welcome to the forums, glad you found your way here, as I already suggested have a read through the Getting Started section, lots of great info in there, also check out the builds area, some great builds to follow.
  19. Hi Jared, welcome to FISD! You're off to a great start. The research ahead of time is invaluable and keeping an up-to-date build thread will let all these fine folks guide you and your kit to screen-accurate greatness. Post lots of pictures!! Your lid looks real good. Rat is correct—as an ANH TK you'll want to remove the paint from the edges around the frown and leave only the teeth painted. Additionally, the black paint trim around your ear squares could probably be a little thicker, and I for higher levels of approval you'll want to paint one of the ear bumps black (either the first or last one). Here's mine for reference: Have a great time with your build!!
  20. @humperdingle I’m a little confused though. Level 3 optional. Since my Anovos forearms are already butt joint. I’m trying to work on a Shocktrooper.
  21. Coming along nicely! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hello and welcome aboard trooper
  23. The build looks good. Question on the frown paint though. Are you going ANH or ESB? If ANH you'll want to clean up the "lip" area as only the teeth should be painted. If you're going ESB the paint needs to be black and not grey. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  24. No cover strips on ROTJ.
