TK Monkus[TK] Posted August 23, 2025 Report Posted August 23, 2025 Hello All, I have a rubber E-11 that I got from Hellhounds back in 2022. It has been great through troops and cons, but this year at Comic Con a few pieces have started to come unglued (luckily walking back on the last day!). I was wondering if there is any specific sort of glue that I should use to put them back on? I was thinking just some super glue, but maybe a rubber glue is better? See below a few pics of the pieces that have come off. Thanks for any insight. Thanks, M Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 23, 2025 Report Posted August 23, 2025 I do find at times super glue although quick to dry does not handle knocks very well and can come loose again. I like to use a 2 pack epoxy glue, 5 minute, glue then tape in place, it's a little sturdier. 2 Quote
revlimiter[Staff] Posted August 23, 2025 Report Posted August 23, 2025 I use black superglue for my rubber blasters. I've knocked parts off in the past and the black stuff keeps them on. I've never had the same part fall off twice. It's not just for the color, it has some rubber mixed into the glue or something like that. I've slept quite a few times since I learned about it and don't remember the exact specs. It's good stuff though. https://www.amazon.com/Medium-Thick-Premium-Cyanoacrylate-Leather-Woodworking/dp/B0DYPFS2GL This amazon link should have the good stuff. If it doesn't work or is blocked just search for "black superglue" on your favorite hobby supply site. 2 Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted August 24, 2025 Report Posted August 24, 2025 If I may make a suggestion, it would be to either use a low grit (80) sandpaper or a Dremel to remove the old glue and rough up the surface before reattaching the pieces and then give it a thorough cleaning, which will give you a fresh surface to apply the adhesive. I would especially do the top of the magazine well. The fact that it has no glue on it as seen leads me to believe that it may have had some residual mold release agent on it so the bond failed over time. 1 Quote

Will give it a good rub with some sand paper before re applying. Thanks for the tip. M 1 Quote
TheRascalKing[TK] Posted August 25, 2025 Report Posted August 25, 2025 This is the exact stuff that Daniel typically uses to assemble his blasters and has worked well - I think several of them that were rushed out around the time of Joshua Tree may have had something else used that has gone brittle. Absolutely agree with Joseph about a good clean and scuff prior to regluing. If you have any issues or need support for your Hellhounds blaster, let me know - for example, I'm happy to send you out a replacement fire position selector. https://www.amazon.com/IC-2000-Rubber-Toughened-1oz-Adhesive-Glue/dp/B002N507I0/ 2 Quote

If that is what he usually uses, maybe I should get this one instead of the above linked. Re the position selector, I didn't even realize that was missing! Went back and looked at my original approval pics and I think it was never added on! Haha. Probably part of the hustle and bustle of that time, but if you had an extra, I would glue that in as well. Thanks for pointing that out. I can DM you my address and happy to cover shipping. Quote

If you already bought the other one, I wouldn't trip since it looks to be similar, but if you haven't ordered, I do like the BSI line of CA glues. It still dose haze a little, so be judicious where it's visible, but it's a good product. Happy to send you a clean resin printed one and will respond via PM shortly. Several went out without those or D-rings so I've been helping ensure at least all the E-11 orders have been made whole. Edited August 27, 2025 by TheRascalKing 1 Quote
