Bikrtrash[501st] Posted July 27, 2025 Report Posted July 27, 2025 Thanks to everyone on the Pre- getting my armor kit advice! I FINALLY got my WTF TK armor kit after waiting since mid-February and will have a lot of advice questions during this process as I will be building with the goal of obtaining Centurian (I am a perfectionist on everything I do - it's a curse!) I am a Lancer level ROTJ Biker Scout so this will be my second build. I have read through all the suggested build threads recommended and got a lot of nice info from those! I have too many other projects and not enough free time, so forgive the large gaps between posts - Thanks, I look forward to sharing and learning throughout this experience!! 1 2 Quote

Wow Bikrtrash, best of luck with your new project! Being a perfectionist in the 501st is always a big plus ;) A hug, and if you have any questions, this is the right place to ask. It's a good idea to start a WIP to show your progress. Cheers! Quote
shashachu[TK] Posted July 28, 2025 Report Posted July 28, 2025 Welcome! Not sure how short you are, but I'm 5' 3" (160cm) and here is my WTF build, which reached Centurion. I've found the WTF kit to be a good one for smaller folks. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/ 2 Quote

Third question, belt drop boxes, how thick for Venturian? Nothing in CRL about thickness and mine are about 3/4" thick. Thanks in advance!Sent from my moto g 5G - 2024 using Tapatalk Quote

shashachu[TK] Posted August 3, 2025 Report Posted August 3, 2025 The rear helmet shouldn't need too much trimming, maybe just cleaning up the opening at the bottom. Where the front and rear overlap is going to be covered by the ear so it doesn't matter too much what it looks like. I'd hold off trimming too much before you get the rough placement correct. There isn't any particular requirement for belt box thickness for Centurion. About 3/4" is fine and what you have there looks good. You'll probably find vs Lancer there's a lot less of holding rulers up to your armor for Centurion. :) Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted August 4, 2025 Report Posted August 4, 2025 The rear of the front drop boxes should ideally be flat with no ridge, Daniel, as seen in the second pic below (green arrow). Looks like you did a great job on trimming, but you still have a bit more to go. What I would suggest is to use sandpaper (starting with a lower grit) laid on a flat surface and rub the bottom section until it it even and flat all the way around. The inner drop box (yellow arrow, second pic) should fit neatly into the outer one with little (or none) of it extending past the edge. By the way, if you are still in need of flexible hand guards I have those available (link here).. Keep those photos and questions rolling in! Quote
Bikrtrash[501st] Posted August 8, 2025 Author Report Posted August 8, 2025 Thanks for the compliment on my trimming, but I haven't done anything except cut off the excess mold! Lol. I didn't take any off because I know it's difficult to add what has already been removed ;) I'm glad to hear about the less pics needed with measuring devices too. Phew! I see the original screen used drop boxes have the inner part protruding about 1/8" from the outer.... So it appears that flush to slightly extending out is the way to go? .... Yeah, sorry if I get a little too deep with measurements, my career as a mechanic has me deal with thousandths of an inch tolerances, and the Lancer level Scout guys are right there with crazy specifics as well. justjoseph63[Staff] Posted August 8, 2025 Report Posted August 8, 2025 No one here is going to break out a micrometer, Z, (well, not at this stage, LOL). Just kidding. The most important thing you can do during your build is to always ask for advice before cutting and include a few of those awesome photos. ABS can be forgiving in some cases, but once it's removed it's danged difficult to fix. Once you have the boxes sanded and fitted I would post up a pic. Side note: You are doing a GREAT job so far, sir! If I could ask a favor, can you post up a close-up of the teeth area on your face plate? Quote
Bikrtrash[501st] Posted August 9, 2025 Author Report Posted August 9, 2025 Close ups of teeth as requested.Sent from my moto g 5G - 2024 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted August 10, 2025 Report Posted August 10, 2025 I couldn't tell from the first pics you posted, but those look spot-on, Z! Just remember when you get to the painting part not to carry the gray too high or too low, leaving a tiny space at the top and bottom (yellow arrows). Screen used examples 1 Quote
Bikrtrash[501st] Posted September 8, 2025 Author Report Posted September 8, 2025 Since I still have not received my helmet hardware, I started my thermal detonator. I have questions on the "control panel" sizing..... Should it wrap 180 degrees around the tube? If it needs shortening like I think it does, where should I take it off? I put reference lines on my pics.Sent from my moto g 5G - 2024 using Tapatalk Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 8, 2025 Report Posted September 8, 2025 There are no dimensions for these areas, only width, also depends on the position of your clips and how it sits on the belt, reference material: THERMAL DETONATOR ANH Stunt/Hero ESB For Level 2: 1. Clips shall be attached with slotted type flat or dome-head screws, and be black (two per clip). V-head or Philips screws are not permitted. 2. Clips are positioned with little or no gap between the clips and end caps. IMPORTANT: Please observe that the screws closest to the face plate are positioned toward the top of the clip, and that the ends are square and not rounded. Notes: The top of the TD should should sit level (or slightly) higher than the top of the canvas belt. Note the control panel almost hits the top of the clips and the bottom of the clips Quote
Bikrtrash[501st] Posted October 30, 2025 Author Report Posted October 30, 2025 I managed to find a little time and did some painting. I used the Humbrol paints listed. I didn't do it perfectly to make sure it "looks hand painted" per CRL.Any feedback is appreciated before trim and assembly of helmet. Sent from my moto g 5G - 2024 using Tapatalk Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted October 30, 2025 Report Posted October 30, 2025 Some of us cheat and use the "painted" stickers by Mike Appling, but nothing beats pure hand painted. I think it came out nice. Quote

One thing your large ab pate you have trimmed too much off, should have a border/plate on the base, some with this issue have glued a plate behind then filled the join with ABS paste Quote
Bikrtrash[501st] Posted November 2, 2025 Author Report Posted November 2, 2025 I actually trimmed it that way on purpose because the plates are so disproportionately large compared to the reference photos I looked at and would hang over the edge of the armor plate mounting locations if I left a border.... Sounds like you are suggesting that hanging over a little is preferred? (Aiming for a Centurian build)Sent from my moto g 5G - 2024 using Tapatalk Quote
