Looking good, just need to confirm as your build thread has Hero in the title but appears you have some Stunt items.

For Hero the holster should have 4 attachment points not two

I can't enlarge your images as the resolution is a little low and they the become blurry but for Hero the helmet should have only 2 ear screws, 3 ear bumps, bubble lenses and only 6 teeth are cut out.

Hi Rhodes, thanks for the quick feedback.

My bad, forgot to mention, the helmet in my original post isn’t mine. I ordered my helmet separately but didn’t have it for my fitting so they lent one to me. I’ve attached images of my helmet.

In regards to the holster. I wasn’t aware of this detail so thanks for providing this. To avoid confusion, what type of Stormtrooper should I class this as when going for clearance? I’m conscious I have a hero helmet with a stunt belt (am I correct in saying that?)

Thanks

Correct, you do indeed have a Hero helmet so you will need to add top rivets to your Stunt belt, you can't apply with mixed versions.

Here are the CRL's for each if you would like to check anything

Hero https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_hero

  • The holster is affixed with four fasteners, two on the top, two on the bottom (two per strap).
    • Fasteners may be rivets, snaps, or Chicago screws.

Stunt https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt

  • The holster is affixed only two fasteners at the bottom, one on each side.
    • Fasteners may be rivets, snaps, or Chicago screws.

Hi all,
So following really helpful feedback, the following adjustments have been made which hopefully tick the boxes to go through the approval process.

1. Helmet foam adjusted to reduce helmet height.
2. 2 additional rivets added to holster to qualify for ‘Hero’ standard
3. Strapping between right forearm/bicep shortened slightly
4. Strapping added between shoulder bells/biceps for both arms

Below are a new set of pictures with these adjustments. One thing to mention, after the images were taken I noticed that the strap on the right shoulder wasn’t secured by the elastic. Will I need to have to take a new set of images for this or will this be noted as an advisory?

Thanks everyone.

Looking great, just a couple of things to be aware of, your right rear shoulder strap sticking up looks like the elastic wasn't looped around.

Also watch the closure of your right rear calf, looks to be slightly open, can see the hook holes, may need to tighten elastic

Great work, good luck with the approval process

Hi everyone,

Now that I’m approved and officially in the 501st at entry level, I’d be interested to know if I’d be eligible for EI status or even Centurion. Based on my pictures, can I get recommendations on what I would need to change (if anything) and images I need to provide.

May as well occupy my time doing something while I wait for my induction event :smiley-sw013:

Thanks,

Tim

Hi Tim.

Great to know you're thinking of going for higher levels. Of course you can post your application for EIB first and then with the required changes (if need it) , you can apply for Centurion Level.

1- If you haven't done, you will need to request Stormtrooper Acces HERE  so you can post your EIB submission .

2- You can check the Photo Check list for the EIB app HERE   and when ready you can post the EIB application HERE.

We are here to help every step on the way.  :salute:

First, CONGRATS on your 50at approval, Tim!  :salute:  I honestly don't see anything stopping you for applying for EI right now, sir.  While you "hurry up and wait" for your debut troop, I have a few suggestions for the future, though..

Although the shoulder bell levels are spot-on, your left bicep seems to be strapped lower than your right one, throwing off the symmetry of both those and the forearms.  Shortening the strapping between the shoulder bell and bicep on the left side about 1.5cm should take care of this.

Although not a deal breaker at any level, I noticed that your posterior plate seems awfully close to the thigh tops.  In the first photo the bottom is riding over the thigh, and in the second is is sitting under it.

This may cause that area to "click" as you walk, when the overlapping plates rub together.  If this doesn't bother you, no problem, but if so, you may want to remove a bit of the thigh tops for comfort.

It's kind of a double-edged sword, though..  If you remove part of the thigh tops, it may cause the opening to be too large as the return edges would be gone and the rear seam may need to be reduced.  BUT, not having those return edges will also not affect approval and is actually screen accurate.

                                                                                                                                                                           Reference images

Again, way to go on that approval, and I look forward to seeing your submission for Expert Infantry soon, fellow Hero!

Thanks, Jospeh. Really useful feedback and thanks for the highlighted images - that really helps!

I’ve not had too much discomfort with the overlap on the posterior and thighs. Part of the problem there though is I’m “a little short for a stormtrooper” at 5ft 6inch so I’ll take a look. This was a commission with RS so not got much confidence doing it myself. That being said, I’m re-doing my shin straps so I’ll get there slowly.

The shoulder heel strapping won’t a problem I don’t think.

A better test will be when you go on your first troop.  The average event can last an hour or more, but at cons you can be suited up for a lot longer.  Here is an excerpt from my thread "Your first Troop...a Few Tips" (link here) that may help:

1.  Before you leave-  If you have not had the chance to wear your armor for any length of time, put it on (including your bucket) and wear it while walking around the house and maybe in your yard for a while.  This will give you an idea of your range of vision, movement limitations, and let you know what you are in for.  Walking up and down stairs will help.

If you have any issues with any parts of your armor (pinching, etc.) we can help guide you through exactly how to remedy them.

Funnily enough, I’ve been doing that but more for the fun of wearing haha.

I have to say, I found putting it on myself helped sit the armour in the right place a little better. My first and last round of approval photos were taken at RS for my first and adjusted fittings. My second round of photos were taken by my wife and the gap in the posterior is slightly bigger with less overlap. I may still need to adjust in future but not having the thighs pulled up so high helped. Only thing to keep in mind with this photo is that it was taken before my final adjustments i.e. helmet height, strapping etc
