fuumantroop[TK] Posted October 18, 2014 Report Share Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) Hey guys! Just wanted to share my very first troop! It happened the very day I got my 501st approval too! Basically I had everything ready JUST in case I had my approval before this troop, as our local squad needed some extra costumers. In the morning, I recieved my approval notice from the 501st, then made my way almost instantly to BBVA compass stadium here in Houston, TX! On the way, both afraid and overly excited, I had a freak out moment where I thought i forgot my handguards! Pulled over as soon as i could to check my newly purchased mobile job box made by Husky, only to find every piece of armor WAS accounted for! Hooray!! After parking, I walked my armor to the rendevous point, and was escorted to our dressing room. I had been in contact with the squad and helped out at a couple of events prior to this, so it was nice to see some familiar faces. After getting dressed, we made our way to the soccer field entrance tunnel, and met our on field contact. We were to be part of the opening ceremonies, carrying 10 ft banner style flags with MLS and Dynamo logos, while the teams were announced, US anthem was sung, along with other on field festivities. After that, we had full permission to walk around the stadium for photo ops with the fans. THEN, It started to rain. The walkways were already crowded from fans wanting photos with us(we had 4 TKs, Vader, Jango, Obi Wan, X Wing Pilot, and a female Jedi), but it got REALLY packed when the game was postponed due to weather. This would have been fine and dandy if the entire walkway was covered, but it wasn't! Half of it was uncovered, and thats the half WE were at! We stayed as long as we could, but the weather forced us back to the dressing room. I must say it WAS an absolute BLAST! It also taught me that i needed to cut the u shape behind my thighs as that was the ONLY place Had armor bites. Enjoy the pics! We have about 200 more photos for him to go through lol! Ian it sure does seem that way doesn't it lol!!! I didn't even think of that!
