I am beginning my ATA build and decided to trim up the ammo belt. I was looking at the snap covers(3) and there really is no gluing surface on the underside of the snap cover. What's everyone doing for this? Gluing to the snap itself? I know Vern, Don't use E6000 on metal to plastic bonds it will melt the plastic. Great tip, though!!!

wow. I love it when I'm mentioned, but not followed!

I use chicago screws for the belt. duct tape over the top of the screw, then glue.

this way the belt is interchangable.

no brainer!

i used hot glue so that I could remove them if I had to to make changes to my belt. My original belt is CA glued. And still together. I'll go back to it if I ever loose all this fat I added to my torso area.

Nice idea!

I used chicago screws as well but glued the caps to the belt w/ e6000. I only glued the edges though, not the center. It's worked well so far but if it fails I think I'll use your duct tape idea.

I too wanted to be able to remove the cartridge belt from the canvas for washing etc.

What length chicago screw do you use? Will 1/4" suffice, or should I got for 1/2"?

1/4" is best to use, at 1/2" it would be too long.

I also drill the Ab plate in the center, this allows the chicago screw to keep the belt in place, by attaching the plastic, canvas, and ab plate all

together.

Thanks Vern, I will consider this option when my kit arrives. See ya out west in a few weeks.

My AP armor arrived.

I am working on the belt.

As far as I can tell. I do not have the 3 white snap covers.

Anyone selling these?

If a part was missing from your kit contact the maker about making it right.
