I've been helping on builds here, and my Outpost guys have switched to nylon strap snap plates. They just cut the 1" strap into squares, burn a hole with a soldering iron. They say the flexibility of the strap is a plus, and they used to make the plastic squares then form them with a heat gun, so this is faster.

The doopy doos kit also comes with the D ring now, if you get the resin kit it is loose, if you do the Hasbro it is molded in.

Sounds like a wonderful start! Keep us posted!

What about s-trim for your helmet? You can buy a complete helmet assembly kit including all the right screws and s-trim from Trooperbay.

I suggest buying twice as much elastic as you think you need. Magnets too.... More magnets!

And yes... Listen to Julie as a general rule.

Juiie: How many new troopers should we expect in the outpost from your efforts?

Aloha,

-Eric

I asked Terrell and he said the helmet came with both the S seal and brow trim, so I think I'm ok. Thanks!

I may just have to move to HI to join your ranks on Julie's account, so I think she does an amazing job of recruitment! :-D. She's got me sold!

Got my TK boots yesterday! They look and feel awesome! I wear a 10 1/2 but purchased 11's. They feel great but there is a bit of room in the toe. Not a big deal at all! Closer everyday! I'd upload a pic but can't figure out how the heck to get the attachment on here!

  • 2 weeks later...

Those are awesome pictures to show how much work space is needed... only for your tools!

Make sure to choose your webbing wisely. Larger strips for the suspenders, thinner (1") strips for hand guards, etc. Remember to use elastic strips for all moving parts (thigh garters, biceps, bracers, chest plate)... I spent over 70 euros in haberdashery online shopping because I wasn't sure of what to use, and got tons of useless left over webbing... Also, I hope you have enough snaps. I had to use around 60.
