  1. Hey all, I'm hoping to document my first order TK build here! This will be my first build, and I will inevitably have a million questions, so I'm hoping I can have some guidance! Here are my current plans: My dream is to make the TFA version of the trooper, as this design is what truly got me invested in stormtroopers years ago when I first saw them walking around Hollywood Studios. The DN kit is obviously intended to be used as a TLJ/TRoS suit, but from what I can tell, it can be made into a TFA kit. So that leads me to my next question, are the only differences between the two versions the helmet, forearms, and cod piece, or are there more? My plan is to order the individual TFA pieces from Imperial Surplus, and make both versions of the suit. Long term, id like to have an approved TFA kit, TLJ/TRoS kit, and Executioner kit. Lofty, but doable I think. As far as the helmets go, I would love to have both of the DN premium helmets, however, im not keen on dropping nearly $1,300 on the two of them. I will certainly get the premium TFA one, however, for TLJ, im going back and forth between the premium and standard line. The premium line helmet is very accurate. The standard line helmet is slightly inaccurate beneath the mouth, using the TFA chin. I thought about converting a black series helmet, as the chin is more accurate, however, I have quite a large head, and worry it won't fit. I have 3D printed 5th Horseman's F11-D, and SE44-C. Geeky Pink seems to be the go-to for gaskets, however, I am looking for rubber ones, as I hope to apply for centurion. I believe there are runs of accurate metal holsters, as well as well defined resin hand plates, both of which I hope to purchase. In addition, I may upgrade to Dino's spats. Any guidance and/or tips are greatly appreciated! I have completed a few ANH TK kits before this, and I'm excited to add this to the roster!

I know the belt is over the spine plate and a little low in some areas but otherwise hoping these sail through Basic with my GML this week and not much is needed for L2. Thanks for any feedback!
  3. This is so exciting seeing all of these builds come together! Since I'm starting a Captain Enoch build for my husband, I figured I'd post it here so that I could get assistance and also offer any assistance I can as we work to complete this costume and CRL. I really liked the layout of @Lidocaine build thread here, so forgive me, I stole it to be the format for mine as well. I'll come back and update and edit and fill in blank spots as I get those resources pinned down. Helmet: Resin printed by a friend of mine, he's actually looking to sell finished helmets and raw kits, I'll have him finish his listing and link it here . Edited to add hyperlink to kit. Neck Seal: It looks to be a R1 neck seal and undersuit but in a different color, so I may reach out to Jim and see if he's interested in making his undersuit/neck seal in this color for Enoch. Undersuit: see above Belt/Kama/Holster: The friend who printed the helmet for me is also a leatherworker, so we are going to work on the leather parts, I'm still searching for a source for soft parts. I've reached out to Sheev's Emporium and Geeky Pink's Phantastic Gaskets, but I've not heard back from either so far. If that changes, I'll edit this to reflect that, or a friend and I will be working to try and recreate it ourselves. Chest/Back: Since the consensus is that these are custom, I'm going to be printing Galactic Armory's Captain Enoch armor 3d print files Arms/Legs/Abd: I'm getting the rest of this armor from Jim Tripon Gloves: I saw it mentioned that these also might just be recolored R1TK gloves, if this ends up being the case I'll add this to the list of soft parts to see if I can get made. Handguards: Thinking that they are the same as the R1 suits, just with the custom coloring. Included with the 850 armor. Boots: Just going to order a pair from Crowprops or KeepTrooping, anyone have any thoughts/preferences on either? Blaster: One of the threads I've read mentioned this blaster , any thoughts on if this is indeed the correct one? If so I will order this one. Both myself and my husband are absolute perfectionists, so I want to build this correctly, which is why I'm documenting it here and on my IG, I want to be able to correct course as I work to make this perfect, and I absolutely welcome your feedback as I build this. Now to go make a build thread for my Night Trooper build since I'll be doing these simultaneously.

Thanks for looking!
  5. So Geeky does not do R1 suits at this time. Shame, I would’ve just had one modified. Other makers that come to mind are Jimmiroquai and KeepTrooping. Worth a shot to ask if they’d be up for some custom shenanigans.
  6. Night Troopers Night Troopers were the stormtroopers who served aboard the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Chimaera under the command of Captain of the Guard Enoch. The troopers comprised the forces of Grand Admiral Thrawn while they were stranded on the planet Peridea. Night Troopers' armor featured cracks filled with gold and grey accents and red strips of fabric. 7. Thank you kindly everyone! It survived the first mall mission almost unscathed. Even some rougher handling by overenthusiastic children and teens and me bumping into the rubber .... uh ... handle?... of an escalator. Easily polished out while wiping the sweat out of it. Only thing that did not survive were the plates for the back of my hand on both sides. Adhesive was sweated off i believe, so we stitched them on now, seeing how round two goes later today. Bit sad that my good long leather gloves are sacrificed, but for some reason the nomex gloves i wanted are unable to be delivered from most stores i tried - or it is knockoffs i do not want. Yesterday was a blast however, we made people's days left and right, mall security saluted us first and some of the more geeky stores started friendly banter on who gets the officer and his trooper next. They even entrusted me a Boba Fett Nerf Blaster to patrol the mall with so i had at least something to carry in my hands. Once i got the detonator done i'll post more and tackle my boots for a more or less quick application to the German Garrison.
  8. It's almost one year to the day that I began building my ANH Stormtrooper kit. I'm 20 troops in, having fun experiences, making good friends. After so long without a project, it was time to expand my kit collection and join the First Order. Sticking with the always recognizable, always popular clean storm trooper kit. I love the Star Wars Resistance show and I have some fellow troopers with some FO kits, so I want to expand on that. I also enjoy the Galaxy's Edge troopers. Their banter is always entertaining. Since I didn't really do a build thread of any sort for my first kit, I wanted to start out with one. Mostly because this kit seems like it might need some feedback on way to approval. Some details about the build First Order TK The Last Jedi CRL: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_TLJ Kit: Imperial Surplus (I don't think they offer this kit any longer, so no link.) Boots: KeepTrooping https://keeptrooping.com/product/trooper-white/ Gaskets: May be used from a fellow Mountain Garrison member. If not, likely Geeky Pink. Helmet: Looking to get the Denuo Novo premier https://www.denuonovo.com/products/star-wars-the-last-jedi-stormtrooper-premier-helmet#description-flex Blaster: 3d print from this site. I'll find the article link... What am I forgetting?
  9. Welcome back! Exciting times indeed! A lot of us get our holsters from Darman (Etsy or his website), and I’d go with his heavier weight leather option. Boots are commonly acquired from Keep Trooping (formerly known as Imperial Boots). Be advised that they take orders in monthly waves. Pauldrons can easily be acquired from Trooperbay or our own Teresa (Geeky Pink), though my orange one is from trooper1 on MEPD. There are direct links to most of these purchase sources at the very bottom of the initial resources post that Glen shared. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Geeky Pink got with me yesterday; getting measured up for my cape. I'm still thinking I'm going off the black series figure for how cape is worn. The book I guess shows opposite of phasma. Might make a mod for a game and use those as reference pics
  11. Did a wear test this weekend with my friend's Phasma cape. Pictures on 1st Order Stormtrooper Facebook group. Have a few adjustments to make on the strapping and rigging but overall think I'm pretty much done. Gonna just focus on my white DN kti while I wait either on Geeky Pink or find someone else to help with cape since soft goods aren't my bag of tee.
  12. Got my boots and gloves in. Still touching up paint; honestly I paused thinking soft goods were gonna be a hot minute. Gonna push to get paint by Thursday, Rigging Friday and troop test on Saturday with my friend's Phasma cape. Did we get any guidance on the cape yet? I was working off the Black series figure, outside of the TFA bucket. The black series has the silver stripe instead of the red. Will need to order from Geeky Pink soon so will need some guidance
  13. Troop #43: July 23rd, 2023—London Pride Parade, London, ON Parades are my favourite troops, and Pride parades especially so. It's always such a joy to participate. This year I got to debut my second pair of "parade arms", painted up permanently in blue and pink. Though I am not trans, the trans rights movement is very important to me. I was very glad to rep the cause. The gorgeous pauldron is from Teresa at Geeky Pink! My fiancée Carisa is the Jawa in this photo, and we were especially glad to have two of our friends come out for the first time as handlers - Dustin, on the far left, and Sienna, in the white jacket. Dustin is working on a Jawa to join us, too.
  14. Troop #41: July 1st 2023—Canada Day Parade, Windsor, ON Always enjoy this one! Big turnout. We blasted Star Wars marching tunes as we walked, it was awesome. I also got to use my new arms for the first time; I built additional arm pieces (Thanks Mark from AP!) that I could paint for parades instead of taping them up every time. I also bought pauldrons from Teresa at Geeky Pink, they are lovely! I love this photo of Vicki, the pilot.
  15. Boy do I have some good news for you. Darman's or Geeky Pink's make excellent neckseals, but you have several options. Rubber gloves are trash for anything but Centurion photos, imo, but I recommend some lightweight running gloves. Buy the cheapest undersuit you can find for your first one since your suit will undoubtedly chew it up at first, but then upgrade - I like mine from Keep Trooping/Imperial Boots. Don't store the soft goods and armor together - they can bleed dye sometimes. You're not missing anything without their soft goods or strapping. Snaps are easy, but I do actually prefer cheaper ones that are not branded like the Tandy ones. Have a good look around and with the Search feature and there's plenty more info out there. Usually, the more research you do first, the happier you'll be with your final outcome!
  16. Just received my harness from Geeky Pink. I’m building a FOTK , wondering if anybody purchased one from her? Just seeing if someone knows how to attach harness to main torso?
  17. Hello everyone! Welcome to my first ever build! I’m sure there’s probably going to be a lot of screw ups during this build but follow along anyway as I learn from my mistakes. This thread will be focusing on TLJ FOTK primarily. I’m planning to make this into a conversion kit so that I can switch between TFA & TLJ but that’ll come after my first approval. This will not be a step by step guide but more of a documentation of my progress in hopes of getting this kit 501st approved by the end. Helmets are here! TFA helmet is from the original standard line that Anovos made. TLJ helmet is the standard from Denuo Novo. There’s a slight color difference and I personally like TFA white more but I’m trying to stay away from painting this kit if I don’t have too so I’m hoping it’ll look fine at the end. *fingers crossed* So I wanted the interior of my helmet to be black. Similar to the look that the premiere line has. So time to test out my masking skills. Looks good so far! Plastic bag for overspray insurance. Did a couple of coats with Plasti-Dip. All dried up and tape removed. I’m happy with it. It needs a bit of clean up but I’m planning to go back in with some black acrylic paint to finish it off. Will be doing the same thing to my other helmet. Here goes nothing. I’m terrified to start trimming but decided to start small first. Admittedly I didn’t have the right tools when I started this but I was so excited when I first got the kit that I couldn’t wait anymore and tried to do it anyway. I used these gigantic shears instead of polycarbonate scissors which is why it looks a little wonky but I’ll sand it down until it’s all nice and smooth. I waited to trim anything else until the right scissors came in. Chest day! First big trim and I’m feeling a bit more confident in myself after that initial trim for the hand guards. I’m using a black pencil to define the guide lines because some of these lines are hard to see. Front chest all trimmed up! My hands hurt. I’m having a blast! Forearms!! So as I stated previously I’m focusing on TLJ so the forearms will need to be cut a certain way. The photo above in RED shows the cut that Denuo Novo has in there assembly book. The photo below in BLUE is how I’m going to cut mine. The top of the forearms in the assembly book appear to show the bottom trimmed about 50%. I think this page has stayed the same since the original Anovos kit so I’m keeping that extra length to use for more real estate when I decide to glue them. Resin pieces ready to paint! Sprayed it down with some Gloss White Behr spray paint. First major screw up! I didn’t have to trim this part since the decals are provided but I wanted to since I got this nice backing from ukwraths. I went in a little to fast with the sanding bit in my Dremel and created a pretty big ugly hole. I’m hoping it won’t look that bad when it’s all said and done but I’ll most likely will have to buy another bicep piece. *sad face* Everything all trimmed up! I might start glueing soon or I’ll probably wait until my gaskets come in. I just ordered them from Teresa at Geeky Pinks so it might be awhile until there’s another update from me.
  18. Got an anvoos lid from ebay; the aertaor and nose piece snapped out fairly easily with gentle force, they really dont use much glue on those things. Decided to just mask off black areas and paint. Have some cure curing to do and some drying than polish with 3k and one more coat. Waiting on gio and geeky pink is facing issues with fires, so this project will probably be tabled for some time. My fault for thinking this was going to be "easy" Tip never say anything is going to be easy. In the mean time I'm going to fix some worn out elastic strapping, replace velcro, and various other maintenance items. Probably go nuts with a good clear coat and polish to make everything super shiny. Need to get my attention back to my DN Kit anyway. I think this project has taught me I love Behr spray paint and I believe I'm going to also paint my DN Kit and bucket so everything matches well and it helps fight yellowing
  19. You could try Geeky Pink https://m.facebook.com/GeekyPinksPhantasticGaskets
  20. Talked with geeky pink was excited to make my cape; I'm basing everything off the Black Series figure for reference. We had some issues on mountain trooper so applying similar logic. If anyone needs to part with a TFA bucket I'm looking
  21. Hello everyone So I thought I should do a build thread, I want to preface this with I have never done this before so brace yourself. There will be lots of errors, but I will make up for it in enthusiasm. So BBB arrived yesterday, haven't been able to unpack it yet (see next steps). But overall some details: - TLJ kit from Jim Tripon. Ordered 22 Nov, 12 Dec impulse added the blaster (obviously moving shipping date out), shipped 15 Jan and received 19 Jan. - Will be ordering gaskets, harness, neck seal, shiny shorts and closer to end of the build the cape from Geeky Pink - Shoes TBC (still deciding if I will do lifters, I am 1.71m so on the fence) - Gloves TBC - Under suit, living in Sweden has supplied me with many of those - Chrome finish currently 3 options get it professionally done (started reaching out to shops, but will delay build do to cost), metallization (see previous option) and finally possibly having it wrapped. Not sure if anyone has done that yet and if it could/does work. Next steps: - Clean kit by scrubbing down with scour pads and soap (just need to get a work jacket and gloves today for that) - Do a test fit after cleaning - We don't have a lot of workspace so ordered a little gazebo to work in outside, that will arrive with the primer and sanding paper etc. Hopefully this gets going Monday - I am waiting to hear if their is an equivalent of FibreGlast 1110 available here, once I know I will either do a layer of the resin and Plastidip else just a layer of Plastidip (assuming Plastidip should go on once the snaps etc. has been installed) Excited to get the build going and taking you all on this janky journey with me.
  22. Yeah the belt I was using was not ideal but worked in a pinch to just see if the fit would be okay. If I am understanding you correctly you are saying the elastic from the thigh should go straight up to the belt or harness not be at any kind of angle. That makes perfect sense. I will have to see how this harness will arrive and if I have adjustment options with it. I'm flying blind on what exactly Geeky Pink is making me in this regard other than she says it will be better than a belt. I am referring to velcro on the shin not elastic. That is what I see on a bunch of photos and one of the easier tweaks I think. I'll do one more arm fitting after the glue dries, but I don't think I want to try any more tweaking there other than adding the padding. It's time to get the legs fitting nice and move closer to the final photos! Thanks. Bart
  23. Since I am not building my armor I won't have a building thread to share, but I thought I'd show you how I'm coming along in other areas. The boots are a bit of a problem with sizing. I really needed an 8.5 but that's not an option so they are a 9 and I haven't found a combination of insoles and socks that take out the heel slop when I walk. I may need to see if there is something I can stuff in the toes that won't drive my toes crazy while fixing the heel. They aren't comfortable as they are with the heel flopping up and down. I have the fans and the icomm/amp from Ukswrath and TK Products respectively. Must admit I had to play with the icomm. "These aren't the droids we're looking for." I can see the mic will require some fiddling once it gets in a helmet as it seems super sensitive in some positions and not so much in others. The blaster I just opened up today even though I've had it for quite some time. I just wanted to keep it safe through my busy Halloween building season. It's from Quest Design. I didn't do the "pew-pew" with it. They are smaller than I pictured in my head and it's been 15 years since I've seen one in person so the memory of it was off I guess. There is nice weight to it. I'm not a "gun" guy in my day to day life so it does feel a bit strange to handle it. Couldn't seem to hit anything with it at all though. I have the undersuit, but still on the hunt for pants with the appropriate placed pocket. I also picked up cotton gloves to wear under the rubber gloves, a balaclava and an MP3 player for the trooper chatter. I built a kit of tools and emergency stuff (not that I will have much clue on how to repair most thing) based on the recommendations here. Other than very basic things I had to order most of the contents as they just were not available locally. That is a frustrating part of where I live, but I did eventually obtain everything on the list plus a couple other things I through in just to keep it all in one place. My armor is under construction by Mark at AP right now and Geeky Pink is doing up the neck seal and a harness for me as opposed to a belt which I think is the last of the items I will need. I will, hopefully, be part of Badlands Garrison which is the same one as Geeky Pink is part of so that is cool (although she is no where near me). I'm hoping to meet others from Badlands on the 26th this month when they are doing a membership drive/show-and-tell type event 3 hours from me. I've met some of them in the past, but never as a potential recruit so that is different. Shouldn't be too long now until I can start the final steps of the process. Bart
  24. So here is the final product and 501st approval. TK-78945 A very big thank you to John Child (Captain’s Drydock) and Tony (ukswraith). It was your video series on YouTube and build thread on here that got me to pick the FOTK and have the confidence to build it. Also a big thanks to everyone who responded along the way. Your advice got me to the finish line. 25. Soft Goods & Accessories Discussion Placing this section a bit out of order near the top, because I'm sure many people are will be wondering... what else do I need order to finish out the suit? Well, let's get into it. 21. Gloves As far as I am aware, there are currently two options for gloves - either Endor Finders on the left, or TrooperBay on the right. Both have their benefits, which I'll get into, but overall, I think I prefer the Endor Finders. Endor Finders In general, I feel the Endor Finders are ever so slightly higher quality, though the soft inner lining will likely get removed, as I did with my all black Rogue One TK gloves from them. I'd rather have cooler hands in the California heat. Both sets of gloves had visible purple staining on the white leather as delivered, from the black thread in the palms and likely just transfer from the material, and the EF gloves also had a clear imprint where the outline of the thumb left a slight impression on the leather of the palm as well. If I purchased these again, I would go for the option to have white palm thread, and while less accurate, I would likely (painstakingly) color in the thread myself with a black paint pen or something that would not stain purple (NOT SHARPIE). TrooperBay These were an older pair of gloves from TrooperBay that came with my fiberglass kit purchase years ago, so I will say I am unsure of the quality when new. They're decent gloves overall, but pretty thin and they are also stained purple on the white leather all over. The handguards are resin cast from original, from Dantooine Props and attached with velcro to the gloves. 22. Boots I have had a pair of boots from Imperial Boots Keep Trooping since I started my ROTK project and will be utilizing them. They're high quality, fit great, and are more comfortable than disco boots. 23. Neckseal, Undersuit/Gaskets & Shiny Shorts I'll likely be using my neckseal and shirt from Sheev's Emporium (which has the awesome and accurate angle change on the arm gasket ribbing), and knee gaskets. I originally ordered them with pants, but I think I'm just going to cut the pants part off of it and have them be sleeves with velcro on the ends like the Denuo Novo ones, but so that they match. The pants were a good idea and they are generally well-made, but make things more complicated. The shiny shorts are from Teresa at Geeky Pink's Phantastic Gaskets, who also make excellent soft parts for FOTKs. The included Denuo Novo gaskets actually look okay but would need to be tailored and are oddly just like... inside out. They have a more shiny/rubbery interior and a cloth exterior - I would just wear them inside out, but would need to remove and resew the velcro, and turn the seams inside out as well. Maybe if I'm having them tailored to fit anyways, but probably not worth the time when I have my Sheev ones. I have no interest in owning actual rubber gaskets at this time and consider their specific mention unnecessary even at L3 - no way would I survive trooping in the Southern California heat anyways. If that's your thing, I believe they are available from Thorsson and Associates. 24. Belt Pouches It should be noted that the tallest pouch that Denuo Novo included does not really fit the largest belt box plate (38A), so I will be utilizing one from TrooperBay instead. 25. Blaster 26. Accessories
