  1. I used to just wear contacts when I trooped. Now that I got Lasik I don't have to worry about it. There is a member of my garrison and a good friend of mine that pulled out some lenses out of an old pair of glasses and mounted them to the lenses in the helmet. You could try that out.
  2. Yeah and it probably comes out of the same factory.
  3. Noob. Also, the new posts icons are broken again.
  4. Any of the TE Derived armors should be fine. ATA, AP, and T/MC are very readily available. My gf's was an ATA and she's 5'4. It took a lot of work, but it looks great on her. Good luck!
  5. I used CA glue with accelerator. That paired with a few clamps and it takes about 10 seconds to glue on.
  6. Which parts are you having trouble with? Send me a PM with any questions.
  7. I almost threw up when I saw the "tk" walk in. Also, I think that was Chad Vader.
  8. Almost any mistake can be fixed.
  9. Because LFL says so. There are tons of rules in place due to licensing restrictions etc. Just one of those things.
  10. Instead of resizing the chest you can resize your ab plate. I don't have the pictures up yet because I've been lazy but I'll be posting them in the modifying armor for women thread. Basically you can trim the part just under the ab plate that is part of the cod piece. I took a good inch and a half out of my gf's and it made everything fit perfectly.
  11. Just got everything in. Just a few tweaks here and there and we're done. I'll send you some shots when we get everything done.
  12. Make it out of steel like that one guy on the RPF
  13. I'm just gonna ask him if he can come to my job and talk to my boss.
  14. Check out the films. The helmets didn't match the armor in them. You want screen accurate, it doesn't get any better. Go with whatever you like and whatever fits your budget.
  15. Signed up myself and Olga. I also just got off the phone with Steve and he's upgrading us to 1st class since Olga's the first female centurion.
  16. The best way to trim I have found is score and snap. I have those plastic cutting curved scissors and they are really a pain to use. I mark everything with a pencil then just follow the line with a razor. Make sure you use a fresh razor also, it makes it a lot easier. You DO NOT want to screw up while scoring the plastic.
  17. I think it's gonna end up costing around 2500 once we're set. Thing is, we got the best of everything. Cloth parts from Clothears, Todd's bucket, and Scott's armor kit. PLUS we're having one of the best painters in our garrison do all the details. (She wouldn't let me paint it) If you did it yourself and know how to sew it'll be much cheaper but much more difficult.
  18. I've done that plenty of times. Good thing about pubs is that stools are very easy to sit on in a TK costume.
  19. She doesn't build her costumes so I'm pretty sure she found it very easy. I on the other hand... I will say that it is a VERY expensive costume to build.
  20. I'd go for a Stunt myself because I like the look better. Also, chances are you'd be using a Stunt version bucket anyway. Not sure who sells Hero buckets.
  21. Yes, it's only available for 501st members.
  22. It happens. I have never had any problems. Even with my painted helmet. Check out my resource thread, I have a link to some up there.
  23. Generally people use screen accurate stuff for pics etc. I would advise you go with Nomex for regular trooping. Silk if you're going ESB. Remember that not everything screen accurate is going to be great for trooping. You have to try to make your suit the best of both worlds.
  24. If you're going for ESB you will need decals.
  25. I recommend either the UA stuff or something comparable. Eastbay sells some cheaper alternatives that are pretty nice. I have a set. Also, you can go with a one piece dive skin. That's what I generally use. Thing is, you will sweat no matter what you wear underneath. Once you put that plastic over you, it doesn't matter where you're at you will sweat.
