Woodchuck also makes excellent guns and props out of wood. I have a T21 that he made for me that I will be showing off soon....

Panda, I bought this voice changer just to play with and do a little research and development: -------- It has a pretty good low deep voice that could pass for a vader. It has a crappy speaker and crappy mic. With a little modding i'm sure that a better mic could be used and that you could output to one of my aker voice amps. It might sound decent and be a lot cheaper than a hyperdyne or RomFX. You could also use a cheap mp3 player to loop vader breathing and feed it into the extra input port on the aker voice amps. I am thinking of buying a garrison mates vader so I was looking into this myself...

Hovi's speakers are nice to have but difficult to hear in any environment other than a crowded room. If you want to be heard go the the link below.... ---------

ROM FX and an additional Sound Source
TK6294 replied to brulafu's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Manny is absolutely correct. The Aker 10watt voice amp has two inputs that both work at the same time. I have a ipod shuffle hooked up to one port and my hyperdyne/wireless mic hooked into the other. Plus it is loud, compact, and has built rechargeable batteries. PM or email me and i will hook you up. Jim, Tk6294 [email protected] -
That is pretty awesome Woodchuck. I am gonna show that to my kids and see how long it takes to figure out the trick!

I agree, Bernard's holsters are great. I especially like the concealed pocket. I keep my armor bin key in there....

I was lucky and able to use my Wedding anniversary. Which is perfect because this hobby would not be possible without a loving supportive spouse. Thank you Wife! Anniversary Date: 6/2/1994 ===>TK6294

Ready to go out of the Box? TK6294 (Aker 10watt vocie amp) : Yes (No static click) Hyperdyne: No, need voice amp and mic Rom FX: Yes Voice Core: Yes Keep in mind that the RomFX and the Voice Core amps are not the best for volume. I suggest adding one of my voice amps to either system to make it complete. I also have wireless headset microphones that make a nice addition to the kits. PM or email me and i will give you some further help and contact info... Jim, TK6294 [email protected]

Anyone know how to get in touch with Hyperdyne?
TK6294 replied to pandatrooper's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Terry, I have been in contact with Jim from Hyperdyne at [email protected] recently. I know that he will have the Trooper pro deluxe available again soon. He was waiting on parts. He is a good guy... Also, wanted to let you know that i am working with my Chinese supplier to develop a static burst card. I am hoping to make it a simple system with an enclosure. It may have a PTT option as well as VOX. It all depends on cost. I want to get it to the legion for at least half the cost as the the high end cards. I don't know if i will be successful with that goal but I am pushing. I will know more soon and hope to have it ready in a few months. Thank you Bro for your kind words about my voice amp! -
I know I am way biased because I am selling them, but you won't find a better voice amp for your dollar... It is loud, rechargeable, small enough to mount in armor without mods, and has two input ports that will play at the same time.... -----------

I own two Kev's ANH 2.5 helmets. They are friggin awesome. They are made out high impact Poly Styrene (I think). They are by far the toughest helmet that you can buy and they look great. I am going to be finishing the second helmet as a TX soon. Here is a thread with my pictures and blunders.... -----------

I was at a troop event to today in promotion for the Dallas SWIC and noticed that my hyperfirm E11 T-track is starting to come off. Does anyone have any recommendations on what type of glue to re-attach it with? Basically, what type of glue works best with high impact rubber? I have CA glue, hot glue, E6000, and Goop glue all on hand ready for a repair. Need to do it tonight because the concert is tomorrow....

Opinion Needed on this Unknown Helmet!
TK6294 replied to DEDEDEJr's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Contact Kevin at imperialsurplus.com . He makes excellent helmets. I have two of them. He may have a b- grade available at your budget level. -
Be a hero in your troop and order a box of these anti-fog cleaning towlets. I just put a box in my armor bin and now offer them up to my squad mates at every troop... They work very well. --------

Just curious, how is that email address familiar? Good history? Bad history? You can PM if you want to keep response private...

I think i am going to order a pair and replace my scuffed up beat up boots. I might sell those on MEPD to a TD who wants a a beat up boot! I am sure they are being flooded with emails now...

Here is the solution... http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=8256 I know it is not cheap compared to the SmallTalk but you will get what you pay for...(without modification).

My new Kev's ANH 2.5, Finally perferct
TK6294 replied to TK6294's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
the seam was taken care of by lots of sanding, lots of primer, and lots of paint. This helmet was finished three times! The seam was never that bad. You could only see it at certain angles and in certain light. I don't have and rt helmet to compare too. However, I did have a AP helmet and I repaired a TE2. The kw2.5 is the same size as those helmets and I have plenty of room for electronics. I love this helmet and I will buy another one if I have the chance. It is heavy but it is tough. The hit I took would have cracked a AP or TE2. Someday my nephew and I will do clones. When we do it will be from kev... -
My new Kev's ANH 2.5, Finally perferct
TK6294 replied to TK6294's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Blaze, I fixed the links and the pictures. Strips are now correct. I am not sure what part of the helmet cut me. The inside is smooth. I think it was the hard hat liner that actually did the cutting. It was a really hard hit! -
It is good to know that I am not alone in my obsession!

I bought a pair of those from rack room a few weeks ago for the TX I am working on. I wish they sold them in white! they fit well...

I will have some really cool voice amp/speakers up for sale in about a week. They are 10Watts and have built in rechargeable batteries. The best thing about them will be the size. 3.75" x 2.8" x 1.1" . They are tiny enough to be place in your back plate, front plate, crotch, under arm, belt, inside holster etc... I have a bulk shipment on the way. Just let me know if you are interest and I will contact you when they are in.

After the crack was repaired and the inside reinforced i did the painting. I sanded the repaired area and the area surrounding it. I then sprayed some paint primer (rustoleum). Then sprayed with white paint (Rustoleum). The hard part was the paint line where I taped off to protect the rest of the helmet. I sanded them with 400 grit paper until the transition was smooth. Then I buffed the heck out of it. the buffing took out the sanding abrasions and helped blend the paint colors together.

This picture is from before the repair. The crack is the line below the aerator. It is tough to make out because of the white back ground but it was 1/4" wide and 1.5" long. This was a TE2 helmet. I am not fond of that design. It was also dented or deformed by a previous repair attempt. I repaired it for a friend. ----- After the repair. I did not repaint the whole helmet. Also, the white paint did not match. I was able to blend it in with some sanding and buffing. -----
