  1. Awesome. I really like it. I'm really curious to know how much it cost to chrome an helmet like this one? For the decals, I guess black would be very cool (it's what I used for the chrome TE ROTJ I made http://imageshack.us.../dscn3482x.jpg/ )
  2. And with these decals, it looks more realistic!!! Good job!!!
  3. As usual Scott, a pleasure to see your work!!!
  4. These declas looks perfect!!!
  5. I used a matt black enamel paint for this helmet. But the light of the room and the pictures give the effect of a satin finish. I have to re do the work.
  6. It seems that the ROTJ v2 ("doggy" face style) were riveted and ROTJ background (ESB v2 re-used) glued. I guess that JoeR have the answer
  7. Many thanks! Yes Paul, I guess that I should change the frown paint. I was affraid to make it too large, but finally it's not enough <_<
  8. Thanks guys, I appreciate these good coments ^^.
  9. Thanks guys. Yes Armando, I made these decals in silkscreened style (painted adhesive vynil). I made the pattern with the help of a scan of original decals (modified on photoshop).
  10. Have one of the first CFO ROTJ helmet kit since several month and finally decided to finish it. Since this one is made out of biscuit ABS, I decided to go for a screen used look! Now, I have to finish the glossy one into a clean ROTJ helmet!!
  11. Yep, really strange. Especially considering that the original helmet he owned is a "Hero" ROTJ and the only one we know. I say "Hero" ROTJ because it seems to be a mix between the ROTJ mark1 reused ESB mark2 (ANH/ESB mic tips and ears, paper decals, square frown) and the mark2 (machined mic tips, ugly left ears, silkscreened decals, rounded frown). Matt's original helmet (the one exposed at Comic Con by The Propstore of London) have machined mic tips, silkscreened decals and rounded frown...but strangely, ANH/ESB ears style and a faceplate which looks more to the ROTJ mk1 style than the "doggy" style of the ROTJ mk2. I don't know if I'm really clear, but according to me, this helmet is unique (until we discover another one ^^).
  12. So it's not from the ROTJ helmet that he owned. We finally have the answer. As you pointed, the decals aren't similar, but the general shape and the assembly is damn close.
  13. In hurry to see that

    Familiar pics!
  15. Same thing for the "Move Along" sandtrooper: I guess that it's not a standard for Hero and sandtrooper helmets and that some stormtrooper stunt have these mic tips painted in black inside the hollow body of the mic and the painted mesh.
  16. My first helmet was a meastock and the faceplate is really close. The cap and back looks different (more a VT style) Meastock's ears are totally different. Finally, I've never seen a gloss meatstock helmet (except the ears). But the faceplate looks similar. Thus I guess that Smitty isn't so far from the true.
  17. I agree with the fact that the paint marks doesn't match the original helmet. But if you look at the teeth cut, it match. The whole shape (assembly) is similar. Keep in mind that with a silicone mould, you can have some minor deformations (if it's not well made). Your helmet have a damn good pedigree
  18. Same thing for me! Nothing received and no help from paypal. I waited too long.
  19. Maybe a copy of a vacuum formed replica made by TE.... but I guess not!
  20. I would tend for a MFX helmet.
  21. Funny to see that you reproduced the orange peel effect (little holes) on the back and back!! Very accurate! Well done! I'm in hurry to see it finished!
  22. CAP lineage faceplate, bump on the teardrop...I would tend for a DA.
