  1. It's funny to see that the Hero helmet from EFX seems to have the original parts, where ROTJ mk1 helmets looks to have copies of this original parts (white resin).
  2. He's a member here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26162-help-stormtrooper-helmet-kit-screen-accurate-on-ebay/
  3. Many thanks guys!! I used leds. With the help of the mirror, it gives the impression that the helmet floats in the middle of the endless box.
  4. Generally, I'm more in making helmet, assembly, painting, etc... But I wanted to do something new and original. So, I did this thing:
  5. Here's the new one: RSprop PP helmet! I initially wanted to make it clean....but wasn't happy with the result. It sounded "wrong" to me and I finally decided to add some weathering (but no paint cracks). Some details: silkscreened decals (from my own design), three parts white resin mic tips (not a recast but a scratch build), green acetate lens, yellow star form inside, rubber trim glued with neoprene.
  6. Aaah, so I'm not crazy. When I saw the pic, I said to myself "funny, this helmet seems to have the same shape as RS prop original helmet".
  7. I can trace the decals of the TE ROTJ helmet (Hero ROTJ) too (since I also have a resin copy of the screenused helmet)
  8. From what we can see with original ESB helmet (reconditionned ANH), the decals seems to be silkscreened just like ROTJ v2 helmet (but different shape). But the ESB MKII (and at the same time ROTJ V1) looks to be paper. You had an original set in hands Joe, actually you're the only one who can say ^^ (it's hard to know from the pics of the Identities helmet). I remember a collector who own a full suit from ROTJ, with a ROTJ v1 helmet....I guess that he could inform us on the type of decals used. We only know one ESB MKII "clearly" identified on screen: carbon freezing chamber (thanks Paul)...but hard to know if the frown is cut out. Maybe that the ILM team created some extra ESB helmets (MKII) very fast and they didn't have time to cutout the frown and created paper decals (by photocopying, who knows?) instead of silkscreened. Then for ROTJ, they took some of these MKII, cut the frown and replaced the lenses. It's just a supposition. We could confirm that if we identify another ESB MKII on screen and if another collector can confirm that decals are made out of paper on his helmet. I love this kind of discussion ^^
  9. The decals are certainly a little bit smaller. Used a TE2 helmet to make measurements of the rear traps. Since I have a RSprop helmet, I see that the size isn't the same. Should do adjustement.
  10. Great! Nice to see them on this awesome helmet.
  11. Of course Joe: Credits goes to Bigturc for the photo and Jez for hosting it on his website.
  12. Nice results guys!!! You certainly bring the proof that the HDPE is way more a urban legend now!!!
  13. Thanks for the pics Paul. Thus all the HDPE were like that??? The others looks less bumpy (not smooth of course, but not as bumpy as this one)
  14. Isn't the paint could exaggerate the bump? I mean that when you apply several layer of paint on fresh coat, the paint can react and create some bumps. That could explain why this ESB helmet is so bumpy. (considering that it already have bumps on the HDPE)
  15. Interesting pics thanks to Mintinbox: http://www.mintinbox...s_Mtl/artefacts
  16. Go to Star Wars Identities in Montreal!!! Unfortunately, I'm too far from this great city. But here some screen captures taken from these videos: Star Wars Identities - Un premier aperu de l'exposition Interesting to see some "unseen" props. The usual Stormtrooper Tour Suit, but surprise, one ANH stunt, one which looks to be a ESB MK2 and one ROTJ. It's the first time that I saw this kind of helmet exposed during an exhibition. Lucky Canadian ;-)
  17. Hard to tell which one I prefer. Both are incredible (I talk about the kit... I would not pretend that my builds are exceptionnal). It's too different helmets. But I would tend for the ESB MK II / ROTJ v1 style which isthe best representation of the stormtrooper helmet according to me (not as "ugly" or "deformed" than an HDPE helmet or wonky doggy style ROTJ..... but hey, all the defects makes the charm of a stormtrooper helmet is!! ^^) And here's both helmets: Sorry for the crap pics, I took them too fast! Some details: Two helmet kits from CFO. One is the JoeR helmet (ROTJ v2) and the other one is the second style (ESB MKII/ ROTJ v1) actually offered by Mark "sskunky". The ROTJ v2 is made out of gloss ABS. I massembled it in order to reproduce an Endor style helmet, thus with a huge weathering. I tried to be as accurate as possible, thus I used casted of original mic tips, green acrylic bubble lenses, U shaped brow trim, S shaped neck trim and textured decals made by hands (with my own pattern) The singularity of this helmet is the right rear decals and the mic tips. Largely inspired by this one: For the second helmet (ROTJ v1), I used the few pics I had of John original helmet to help (but didn't tried to make an exact copy) Same treatment, ABS "pinseal" kit. ANH/ESB style ears from an RSprop helmet kit. Same thing for the mic tips, from CFO (those are excellent). Lenses, rubber trim identical. Same process for the decals (I 'm not sure that the original were "silkscreened" due to the lack of HD close up pics, but I suppose the ILM crew made them the same way as the ESB and ROTJ V2 decals. The color and the shape are different. Thanks for watching.
  18. And a new one!! Teaser pics since it's not totally finished. This is the second style helmet offered by CFO. More pics to come (with a first style too!!!)
  19. No doubt that makr will make an excellent work!! For exemple, his last ROTJ helmet (from CO molds). It's funny too see that this armor looks as small as the rubies supreme armor (which is supposed derived from original source). Maybe the model is very tall, or disney made some changements in order to make easier the movements of the troopers (just like the helmet for a better visibility)!
  20. I'm a fan of the helmet! Too bad that they had to cut the eyes and the teeth.
  21. I made the decals myselt (thanks photoshop and my printer ^^) The idols are awesome!!!!
