Damn, how do you get a fan system in there? It looks so cramped.

HIPS isn't as durable as ABS. For example, you can throw ABS across the room and not worry about it much. However, with HIPS you can't do that. HIPS is really nice for making cuts and adjustments on the fly because you can use a regular pair of scissors. I just finished my HIPS kit with TKbondservnt and I already have a few cracks in the returns and I've only put it on 4 or 5 times. HIPS is good for wearing you just have to be more careful. Don't throw yourself on the ground or play football in it. It's also a little less expensive than ABS kits. I have an ATA HIPS kit and while I love it because it is my first, my next will most likely be ABS.

So I submitted my application today and you can see my finished photos in my thread "And so it begins...". I'm volunteering and plan on doing most of it in armor. According to the schedule it looks like ill be spending a lot of time near the Laser Tag. Should be fun. Can't wait to start my next kit. Snowtrooper, I choose you!!!! Edit: BTW here are the hours I'm volunteering: Thursday 11a-3pm; 3pm-7pm Saturday 3pm-7pm But I'm gonna try to be in armor even when not volunteering!

SydB1974's ATA Build[*ATA]
Tech151 replied to SydB1974's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Looking good. As someone who just finished building an ATA with the aid of TKBondservnt, it can turn out to be a very nice kit. I'd suggest you line the inside of the shins and thighs with canvas to give it a bit more strength, especially in the returns. I've already had a small crack on my shins appear... grrr. -
Starting down the road...
Tech151 replied to SemperParatus485's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Well you've definitely come to the right place for all those questions. A lot of them can be found by searching through the boards. For example there are plenty of discussions about ABS vs. HIPS. Welcome aboard. I've just recently finished my TK and can't wait to start on my next kit. The only advice/tip I can offer is: After you finish your first kit, don't stress about minor dents, dings, scratches and paint transfer. It just adds to the look! Good luck and have fun! -
So not officially in the 501st but I will be there and hopefully by the time i get there ill have my TK number!

Was hoping for pics of ESB hand plates.

Wow... I rarely here people using the word "Phat" also... be careful with "juiced" as that now is more commonly used towards someone who is on steroids. Trashed, Hammered, Smashed, Blitzed, Bombed - all these are used to express severity of intoxication whether from Alcohol or Drugs, usually in this order lol. Hella - Im not sure but people in Nor Cal use it for everything!!! Generally I think it's supposed to mean something like the word really. For example: 1) That girl is hella ugly. 2) That's hella cool. (I personally avoid this word like the plague.) That's all i can think of for now.

"It could've been worse"

Hahaha didn't notice that until you pointed it out... it's too bad the tracking is lined up to make it look like "Unquestioned loyalty" is being shot out of the blaster. I do think an E11 would look spiffier... just my .02 cents Nice work though overall. Like the theme, the opening battle of ESB is my favorite battle ever so this satisfies me. :atat: :atat: (couldn't figure out how to do the destroyer so you get four 's up for now)

yeah.. thanks for the story. i like stories almost as much as pics.

I don't think either of those are really safe... i mean isn't your vision severely impaired wearing those helmets? Mine was.
-
Doesnt exactly align in FF either. I'm using latest version of FF i believe.

Well from what I've gathered, when opening a thread that you've previously viewed or commented on from the "New Content" link, it will open it to the last place you were. I suggest checking to see if this is the case for you by looking at a thread you've looked at before (but sense the new update), and then looking at one you've never looked at before. If this isn't clear let me know, I'll try to make more sense next time lol (Laugh out Loud ;P )

Was having the same problem with Google Chrome, I went back to Firefox works fine on IE and Firefox.
-
Well I know from this thread: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=10009 that they are going to be working on a better reference pic gallery, so I would guess it's on Hiatus for a few days?

When you are opening these threads that bump you to the middle are you opening them after clicking the "View new content" link?

MFX ANH build 90% ready[*FX]
Tech151 replied to b4lrog's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Yeah I'm also curious what all you got in your bucket it looks pretty comfy, roomy yet full of stuff. -
So just to end my somewhat thread hijacking, is it pretty well established that the best way to transport armor internationally for cons and such is shipping it via UPS or FedEX? Not flying with it?
-
Those pics look absolutely sweet! I'm a bit envious. I wish I had snow here but alas, none... and the closest we were going to get, EVERY city AROUND Chico got snow, but not here! :C

Yeah I'm just trying to figure out the safest most secure way to get my armor (once completed) from Los Angeles to Orlando. So has anyone experienced any problems with checking their armor or do you just divide it into two carry on bags?
