Well bit the bullet as well. just purchased two kits, one for myself and one for the GF. So hopefully we'll have another TK in the ranks by 2016. Tax return money well spent.

Hey all, so my beloved armor has gotten a little beat up over the last several years and Im thinking rather than clean it up, move to the dirty side. Of course I'll be returning in the future with a new clean TK! However, until then, I was hoping someone out there might have a few of the TD parts I need. Specifically, I'm in dire need of a sniper plate. Thats priority number one as most everything else is the same or easily altered. There are some other parts I need such as Pauldron and decals The only catch is I'm trying to get this all down in 20 days for a con we are having locally. If any of you can help me with any of these three items, I'd greatly appreciate it!! :)Thank you!

Speak for yourself. I think someone told me the longest time anyone ever spent in costume was like 5 days. Slept and everything. The only exception was he was allowed to remove his helmet to sleep. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.) I for one spent easily 8-10 hours in armor at CV and trust me, even the HIPS stuff which is pretty light starts to weigh on you.

sweet.... well i just ordered 5 of them and will post build pics shortly. From the picture it looks like a hard build but I think it will come along alright. Just kidding... I didn't buy those.

So the next step is figuring out a way to implement this in the FISD. It would be fun especially in con style troops to have lower ranking members saluting higher officers and such. IDK. but yeah it could be fun.

Hey Martin. Helmet is looking pretty good so far. I've read through most of this forum and have thoughts and suggestions after recently finishing my own ATA kit. You mentioned something about gaps in the ears, I'm not sure if ANH Stunt and EIB requirements allow you to use filler to fill those gaps, that's what I did for my ESB hero style lid. I like the filled look but I know it's not for everyone. As for those entire holes, If they're covered by the ears they shouldn't pose much of a problem. And painting the interior of the helmet is definitely something I want to do at some point, or wanted to do. Instead we (Tkbondservnt and myself) just sprayed a clear coat in there. It added a bit of strength to the bucket. Additionally we were going for a more idealized look and primed the exterior a few times so we could sand down all the bumps and I mean ALL the bumps lol. This bucket is practically bump-less. My biggest suggestion, especially with this ATA helmet, is don't skimp on the paint. Several layers make it a lot easier to fix and clean up any scratches, dents, or dings. Lastly, on painting, we decided to not add a clear coat because most of the clear coat spray paints available apply a rigid finish and we though that we wanted there to be more flexibility. Our solution to this was to just add a few coats of Wax. Currently I only have one on my armor so we'll see how it holds up this weekend. Anyway, it looks like you're making great progress. If you're ever nervous about trimming, use the sand paper to take of the extra flashing because it removes this plastic like butter! OOOOO last question, how are you doing the lenses? A pic would be cool. Looking forward to see the next set of pics!
