  1. so you used the mannequin to make molds? I was under the impression that with a body cast, you could just fill it in to make the molds, or am i way off?
  2. Clone looks really nice. Can't wait to see the TK.
  3. I just think it's wierd how the armor looks better, like more form fitting than on luke than it did the guard who was supposed to be a little taller.
  4. So i've been toying with the idea of making my own molds, and doing my own vacu-forming. The only problem I'm having right now is finding anyone i know that has ever made a body cast in order to accomplish this feat. Does anyone out there have body casting experience? And if not, is there an easier way to make armor molds?
  5. Yeah i think i stumbled on that conversion thread last night... it looked pretty good.
  6. well i guess i shouldn't be trippin so much on these details. don't even have armor yet.
  7. hmmm, well i think i want to try to be unique and go for rotj style armor, is it harder to come by or just more work?
  8. oh all right, that's what i figured. thanks for the clarification, hopefully he saw that and made the necessary changes.
  9. I was just wondering what version(?) armor type is the most popular. Like do most TKs have ANH armor or is there a even spread from ANH, ESB, and RotJ? I know there are subtle differences, so was wondering what most people w/ TK armor tend to do, other than make it dirty ;-).
  10. How tall are you? I'm just wondering cause i'm on the tall side myself, about 6'2'' to 6'3'' and i was taking another look at your pics, don't know if it's the armor or what, as i don't have one of my own yet, but the biceps look a little high. But maybe someone who ACTUALLY has armor can explain that to me if i'm incorrect, it could just be that it's a flaw in the FX kit.
  11. Uber jealous.... i need to get a job or two, so i can get my armor!
  12. I see. You said some people believe it makes it harder to see into, does it? I imagine that once it's on and there is a head inside, it might be difficult to see into either way.
  13. NOOB QUESTION: Why paint in the inside black? What's the benefit?
  14. Yeah i'm in Chico, only 1.5 hours from Sac, and it's 104 and gettin hotter! :C thank the force for A/C but boo to PG and E!! I here it's really hot where I'm from, Orange County, as well, hooray Cali heat! The helmet looks great, just finished reading all 8 pages! I'm really impressed and kind of stunned at all the work done on it.
  15. Congrats! That's sooo cool that you got an AP kit, the armor looks really good. Wow yeah I wish I had a bmx bike i could sell to make some money for any kind of armor kit. Gratz on getting the AP Armor. I'm sure, from what i've read you'll love it!!!
  16. There are aspects of the clone troopers i like more than the older school stormtroopers. The clones seem a little less bulky, maybe that's just because of the shape of the bucket, but I like the less bulky look, seems more practical in covert operations. However, I find that clones appear to cuddly! The eyes on the helm of the stormtrooper have that nice little triangle shape, gives them that scary look... I can't really pick between the two and say that i like one over the other, because i love anything in white armor.... oh so sexy! However, I do plan on getting a TK kit and then getting a clone kit.... but that's just because i'm going with the order of which movies were released. ;-)
  17. Well, by some use of the force, Ben told Han and Luke that they were going to end up in a trash compactor and were going to change clothes, so he told them to put the clothes outside of the exact trash compactor... but then, because Luke is so young, and Han drinks and no one can understand the wookie (he mutters) they all forgot what Ben told them after storing their gear! I'm going with that approach, or whatever makes the rebel scum look stupid!

  19. So I have not assembled any type of storm trooper armor yet, but one of my friends has one of those Halo Master Chief armor costumes. As far as the cell phone thing, what he did was buy one of those older hands free sets, the ones with the wire, and ran it inside his armor to his helmet. He used the wire because it wouldn't die on him like a blue tooth might, and if his phone fell out it would yank on his ear. So I'm sure there is a way that can be adopted to any of the armor kits. Good luck. As for me, six years of off and on interest in the 501st and still savin' up money to buy my first kit, hopefully by Christmas!
  20. You forgot a step: remove cute little kitties from the pile of fabric and away from the measuring tape.
  21. In regards to the stormtrooper blaster... I was able to get one at Disneyland and i've heard you can buy them from Disneyworld too... Maybe look around the disney store website or call them or something... best i can suggest.

  22. Battle wounds... every good trooper needs one or two of those, so im told......
  23. I dont have much advice to give as i dont even have my own suit, but i've been looking at TK trooper pics for the last 3 or 4 days and would agree that you should close the gap between the abs and the back. Yard sale signs would work, targe has cheap white plastic trash cans that might work well. i've seen other people solve that problem using something other than whats been recommended.. ill go talk to them and see whay they suggest... but other than that looks good... can't wait to see how your blaster turns out.
