symetrical helmet
Star Wars Helmets replied to subtrooper's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Though not symmetrical, you could always go "Hero". The absence of the bump under the left eye makes it look a bit less asymmetrical? --------- Cheers Jez -
Very kind of you my friend Cheers Jez

Lucasfilm really arent interested in fan-made vendors - so long as they play "reasonably". They could have quite easily closed down my site which features just about every replica prop maker out there, but they haven't as they've a very positive attitude towards the hobby Cheers Jez

My Rubies TK Supreme ROTJ build/mod[*RB]
Star Wars Helmets replied to JSmails's topic in ROTJ Build Threads
Joe, you may be correct in that they were only used in shooting at Elstree, however apart from the one shown above, the Cooper-Owen helmet also had a squared off frown -------- It looks to me like they simply masked off the end of the mouths in the same way as they did for the AT-AT's in ESB..... --------- BTW I agree with others sentiments. What you guys have done with the Rubies armour is really great; Silk purse from a Sow's ear so to speak! Cheers Jez -
modded rubies supream tk armor
Star Wars Helmets replied to TOM R's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Really nice work Tuskentrooper. I agree with others that the chest/back needs lifting a little and also see if you can pull the Ab section up a little but thats more to do with the wearing than anything else. Your pics are great but I'd like to see shots of it outside, without flash and in "combat pose" - I thik that would convince any remaining skeptics. The MR CE makes a huge difference. Accuracy-wise its a significant improvement over the standard FX armor so I'd would be a very odd decision for anyone to say it shouldnt be 501st approved - unless theyre looking to phase out the FX armor that is Cheers Jez -
Good things, not bad. I had his phone number but had a burn-out on my mobile so its lost. The email addy I have for him doesnt seem to work Any contact details? pm if necessary Cheers Jez

I've just checked my site and noticed that www.StarWarsHelmets.com has now had ONE MILLION visitors! When I first launched it six or seven years ago I never thought it would ever reach such a milestone. Let me take the opportunity to extend a great big “Thank You” to everyone who has contributed to it over the years. Oh and Mr Lucas too for making such damned fine movies! Cheers! Jez

Star Wars Helmets replied to johnnymac's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance

Discovery Channel - that would be nice - thanks! Aaron, Thanks for the instructions on how to make the torrent thingy – easy! Ive emailed you the torrent info from my desktop to your hotmail addy (StarWarsHelmets_Videos_1.torrent) – but I presume people can search for it - somehow? On my Utorrent desktop its down as “swh vids2.iso” Cheers Jez

TE2/AP New recruit requesting insight
Star Wars Helmets replied to TK9410's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Agreed, AP, TE2 - both these guys make great armour. I have a set of TE2 and its superb. TM's also great and of course GF if you can find a set. However as others have said they are better suited to the size the original wearers were. I'm 6ft so probably at the top end. Larger guys are probably better with FX armour - but a TE2/GF/AP/TM/MR/etc helmet. You can "mix and match" Cheers Jez -
clarification - ABS-80 AP helmet story
Star Wars Helmets replied to Heatshock's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I must admit I thought they were the same, even seem to remember the customs/shipping info being the same But would still like clarification nevertheless Cheers Jez -
Thanks guys - glad you like it - this one took me blinkin' ages to assemble and edit DVD - Well now Ive done four (Original ANH TIE & ESB AT-AT and TK, plus replica AotC Clone) I'm going to stick them on a DVD using something like DVD Workshop. At which point I'm happy to send a copy out to someone who can distribute to anyone who wants them - so long as no ones charging for this as I'd want them to be free (less their postage costs) Cheers Jez

Hi all Just a quick note to say I’ve just finished the latest video, this time of the original screen-used AT-AT Driver Helmet from The Empire Strikes Back It took a long time editing the footage etc. I hope you all enjoy it http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RpYkFCVA9Fw By the time its up it should be in standard and hi-res formats. Cheers Jez

Armor History Discussion
Star Wars Helmets replied to Jumpin Jax's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
...and as Gino said the SFS "mould" was based on a digital scan so not what we would call a "mould" in its usual terms. Note that there are other moulds, MR produced a mould from Jason's Joiner's reconditioned original helmet and also digitally scanned the Hero in the LFL archives (although as a digital "mould" it was unusable - which is why they went for Joiner's). So to clarify, neither the STS or SFS have been moulded in reality Cheers Jez -
RT-MOD Armor History
Star Wars Helmets replied to TK-4510's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I remember a number of years ago when Rob first started producing Stormtrooper armor, and specifically an email conversation we had when we needed to come up with a "name" for his armour on StarWarsHelmets.com - and "RT-MOD" was born! I think the way youve handled yourself in this difficult business and not least the way you resolved the face-plate situation made it clear to me that youre a true gentleman! Cheers Jez -
The MR CE is okay but really doesnt compare to something like an AP, TM or TE2 which are considerably better IMO Cheers Jez

Meatstock Sandtrooper Helmet?
Star Wars Helmets replied to TK-8687's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
They were a direct recast off a TE helmet so shuld be fairly accurate. However I do remember hearing that they were very thin and quality varied. My advice would be to avoid and go for a TE2, TM, AP etc. - there are enough quality helmets out there at very reasonable prices. Cheers Jez -
Get well soon bro' Cheers Jez
