  1. Thanks guys. I am trying very hard to make this a great helmet for Kent. Painting straight lines is difficult. The only part that I may touch up is the rear traps. I am not too happy with how they turned out. The lines are thin and the grey looks patchy to me from touching it up. If I do re-do the traps they may look worse however, so I may have to just be satisfied with how they look now. They dont look terrible, but I wish that they would have turned out smoother. That is a Macro shot too....Am I rambling? The lenses were donated by Nathan AKA TK-9135, as well as some other goodies that I will send along to Kent. The only things left to do are the mic tips. I ordered a set from Keith as I feel his are the best, and I cant put anything less on this helmet. There is a few cool items that Smitty sent along that go inside. I will send those to Kent and let that be another surprise. I really feel good about the helmet. I think Kent's finally getting what he paid for. At least I hope he will feel that way when he gets it.
  2. Here is the latest update.
  3. I actually dont have time to post a progress thread on the painting of the armor. I am completely slammed with projects and the camera is on a temporary hiatus. You can PM me though and I will help all I can. No the armor is Pauls. He asked me to convert his TK to a TD. So I am repainting the whole thing rustoleum high gloss white and re-doing his double sig helmet to be a "move along". When he gets it back it will be high gloss and he will not want to weather it. BUT he has the fullers earth on hand and will start on it as soon as he gets it I may post pics of the finish when its all cured. As far as the ab buttons go, I just hand painted mine with midnight blue and ad grey 5 Mike
  4. Harrison Ford was able to sit in his armor because it was made of 0.060 ABS, possibly thinner. Look how his chest bubbles out in that scene. The stuff is cheap and thin
  5. Well I know the helmet sucks up almost one can of paint. The armor probably 5-6 cans. I will let you know soon as I am painting a TE2 armor set right now. You will need some wet or dry sand paper too. Maybe a tack cloth as well.
  6. There is still a bit to do and I am waiting on the mic tips I ordered.
  7. Where is Brian R when you need him. And for that matter Dave M's MIA too, darnit.
  8. I love how its been identified as a tantive raid helmet!!
  9. 14 for me.
  10. Having never actually seen the CE up close, I am not sure. I can post pics. Seems like AP decals might work too.
  11. If you are skinny then you can get into a AP easily. MArk Hammil is very short. If you are bigger you may have to buy the FX and trim it down as needed. Maybe buy a chest plate from someone else.
  12. Home Depot. Number 4-40 flat head available in 1/2 3/4 and 1 inch. Sold in packs of 6 with nuts I think
  13. Did you pull that in black HIPS? SWEET!
  14. What kind of armor is this, its awesome! Best TX I have ever seen!!
  15. You can always make them with cutters shield and a heating gun.
  16. Best CE I have ever seen The only suggestion I have is to replace the screws with flat heads.
  17. I have to apologize for not documenting todays work. I really wanted to show it, but as you can see, I have been busting an impolite person today. Left to right: OPERATION OMG, my Stunt TE2, and Pauls "Move Along".....These are all being completely hand painted. And now its time to go see WALL•E (SP?) with the kids
  18. Brad, Your right... in for a penny in for a pound I guess. OK I will hand paint this thing. Oh and Brad you are now up to 6 cents... Mike

    My TK Buckets

    Nice collection
  20. Thanks guys. I have decided not to paint the inside of the helmet. I have never had any problems with the helmet being white inside. I will probably use decals on the helmet. I have some really nice ones from CAP still. Mike
  21. Well I couldn't wait and broke my own rule. Always wait 5 days after painting helmet for it to cure. Although the helmet has been sitting for 4 days its still soft, I decided to go ahead. I was careful though and painted the frown and ears. I held the helmet carefully in my lap. Using Humbrol ad gray 5 (mix well) and a fine tipped brush for the frown. Larger standard brush for the ears.
  22. Chazz "Gundamzepplin"may have a few. I would give you CAP's email, but I dont know if he would be cool with that. He used to be a member on this board "Weibes"...
