  2. I am applying yet another coat of glazing putty on the cap n back. Be sure to knead the container first because if you forget it will run,....DUH!!! You knew that right? Anyway. I put on another coat and let it set over night.
  3. Alright lets get back to it. I am going to kick the cap n backs an impolite person right now... But first I painted the mic tips.
  4. Sorry for not posting. My daughter is getting promoted to the 6th grade so the last few days have been hectic. I have photo's to load and have done a bunch of work. Also there will be a NEW, much more detailed, tight pulled face plate. The old one will just get tossed in the box for you to laugh at later Kent. THIS helmet will be off the hook! Mike
  5. OK, found this on a website. TE's helmet was not pinched..
  6. OK, so matt's SFS helmets that he sold for $900 have pinched tubes, and thats normal? I dont see that on the SFS screen used helmet at all. I know the "mattisdead" guy is selling recasts. I had assumed he must have done a really poor job though, because my buddy told me that it was really messed up. The side tubes were actually pinched like someone had sqeezed them together and the dome had huge indentations in it. The back curved area was pinched at the bottom too. Sorry to go on and on, I just cant believe that Matts "TE" was messed up too. Glad I didnt buy one!!
  7. One bad thing about the RT is the back -hate it...
  8. And my AP that was toast after the Rose Parade, became a TD. You can just see the extra plastic in the gap in the side plates.
  9. heres a better relaxed shot of the RT
  10. No rush. I am thinking about sculpting some to go along with my ESB decals
  11. thanks! does anyone have any AP/TE handplates along side some ESB handplates?
  12. Anyone have both ESB hand plates and ANH (AP or TE2)? If you would be so kind, can I ask you to take a pic of both together with a ruler along side for scale? Mike

    Got my TE2 today!

    Excellent job!!!
  14. I am going to spread some more glazing putty on the persistent lil' bastard today Speakin' of coffee I am going to drink a special HAWAIIAN blend this morning, gifted to me from afar.
  15. lol!!! Damn I thought I moved that outa' frame! uh, thats not mine its uh, the wifes and uhm she was watching me work. If it has caffeine I am NOT partial. Whats better than a chocolate shake with nitro? OK, so the whipped creme is a lil' foo foo.
  16. heres my rt-mod I am almost 200 lbs here. The armor edges have no returns really...., the one above was AP. On that AP I cut the thighs wrong on top and cut most of the edge off. Wouldnt do that again, but it was comfy for the rose parage
  17. I dont understand. Are you saying that the SFS helmet that TE was selling had smashed tubes too? That grey helmet above has smashed tubes and looks like the matt is dead guys helmet, not the SFS. If the original SFS fiberglass helmet that matt was selling was smashed I never heard anything about that.
  18. I am 5'8" and 190. My first set of armor was an RT-MOD. I didnt trim it at all. I loved that set! I didnt know any better so I never trimmed anything on it. Just took it out of the box and glued it togther. It does come pretrimmed. My second set of armor was my AP. I had to trim an inch off the bottom of the back plate. Trimmed all the "edges" off the ab, back and kidney plates. I also added a one inch spacer between the ab and back on both sides. Trimmed an inch off the bottom of the calves and the inside of the thighs and back of the thighs. Trimmed a little off the bottom sides of the cod. After all those minor adjustments it fit snug but it looked great. In this picture I was about 180. The helmet is a TE2 #7 signed and dated
  19. I am going to pop out the screens on the mic tips and repaint them as well. I think the insides should be white or off white. The outsides are going to be flat black.
  20. Still needs some more smoothing and sanding, but I WILL prevail
  21. Next its outside for some thick primer I put on three coats, waiting 5 minutes between coats. I am going to sand this baby smooth as glass....
  22. Time to sand the Cap N Back. I am just gonna take it over to the sink and run some water over it. Sand, Sand, Sand!!!! Keep it wet and dont go too far.
  23. They still dont look right. My opinion, sorry
