  1. Actually I think that IS a Disney lid.. This is the NEW armor... ----------
  2. I actually like the CAP ones the best. They are SDS copies. The trooper decals are OK too.
  3. They changed them. They have seperate eyes now. But that is not a disney lid.
  4. Yeah Recastastic's funny as hell. You get better dude. Didnt know about your jaw, ouch. Godd to hear the bike is OK. Its probably an expensive bike huh?
  5. Thanks everybody. Its really turning out nice so far. Now unfortunately, we will need to let the nice thick paint cure for a week. Thats the rub with this stuff. I got some really nice CAP decals to go on it (thanks Chris). For those who dont know, the decals are copies of the SDS decals. Probably the nicest cleanest looking ones yet. I do have to say though. I am having issues with the idea of painting the inside black. How can anyone cleanly mount anything inside without messing up the black? I will have to investigate this further. I bought some accurate neck trim from webers, so the necks gonna rock too. This is gonna be like LOTR,....."MY PRECIOUS!!!" I aint gonna wanna send it back to you Kent!!! Nah, seriously though.....You will like it, I think....I hope. Mike
  6. Hmmm. Maybe I should make it TK-Ph.D? Here's some teaser pics
  7. not a fan of CT's myself.
  8. Just trim them straight along following the edge. Just inside the flare on the edge there. That way they are nice and flat. On the arm bottom, trim about a half inch in, just leave that curve under so it looks clean and thicker. Just make a nice clean circular cut there. It would be easier if I had a pic but I dont.
  9. Primed and paint today. No pics, sorry. Man its hot in SD 104 degrees today!!!!
  10. Yes, sorry Kent. I have been sanding out the ripples more I didnt bother taking pics because it slows me down and I figured it would be redundant. I am going to primer it again today. If all goes well I will paint it and take some pics then. Its coming along very nicely and will be sweet when its done bro. Mike
  11. HAHA you made me laugh at that one!!!
  12. Apple has a book publisher that will do one offs. They are expensive, but....
  13. already did T*E stunt build up
  14. Thanks dude I wish....I am rooted deeply in SD though.
  15. Thanks everyone. I was pretty bummed this afternoon. Torn between screamimg like a baby and putting my head through the wall. All I can say is thanks to all the friends who have helped my family through this. I dont know what the future holds, but I am ready for a good change. I had just settled with the idea that being unemployed was going to take a while when this interview popped on the radar. I was so sure it was mine. Not outwardly, but internally, I owned it. Was a huge let down. I was telling my wife that we should just do something on our own. I am not sure what that would be yet. I have had many ideas though. Too bad I cant live forever on Stormtrooper helmet building Mike
  16. Here is the final bucket. Now I will put some novus on it and make sure its all dialed in before I send ity off to its new home. Shamless Plug.... I can assemble your AP too!!!! I charge $100 for AP assembly and can have it to you within one week of receiving it. Just have AP ship it to me and then when its done you pay me for assembly and shipping.
  17. Now its time for the faucets ......ugh....DO NOT USE THESE. I am showing these on the helmet for now. I tried..... I just cant willingly build a bucket with water faucets.....They were very difficult to put in as well. The screws were very short.
  18. Now the rubber trim. This stuff is way to big. I suggest the stuff that weberspump sells.. Here is the link: http://www.weberspump.com/acatalog/Rubber_Gaskets.html Look for "WINDOW & AD GLASS RUBBER #RG102"
  19. Next comes the lens material. It does have some nice two sided tape on it and sticks right in place. Way too thin for trooping, but probably OK for shelf sittin'.
  20. Next comes the decals. Here's a tip. Get a small bowl and put one drop of dish soap in it. Then fill it with water. Mix the two well. Before you put your decals on dip them in the water(one at a time as you go). When you put them on you will be able to position them easily and work out all the air bubbles. Some people also use a water spray bottle. This trick really works and I dont know how I got along without it all these years. Use a paper towel to work the water out from under the decals. Soon there will be no water and the decal will be stuck in place. WORKS GREAT!!! Note: I noticed that I had to cut one tube stripe off each side for my tube stripes to fit correctly. no biggie. I cut them off right on the helmet.
  21. Today we finish this bad boy up. Before I begin I just wanna publicly say that the rubber neck trim and mic tips as well as the lens material in the AP kit are lacking. I went box diving and found a pair of CAP mic tips that I have used instead. I cant help with the lens or rubber material, so maybe he can replace those later. The rubber is too big and the lens material too light. I am starting off by putting the pin striping tape on the ears. I can never seem to find the small stuff but the two stripe tape is always around at automotive stores. I just use the small strip and toss the rest. I cut about a 6 inch piece and take out the small strip. Then starting from the bottom of the ear I wrap it around keeping pulling pressure on the tape but not stretching it. This way it conforms to the ears shape. When I get back around to the bottom again I just use an exacto knife to cut off the excess. Just put the blade on the tape and pull the tape up off the ear. The blade will cut the extra tape. Then I just rub the tape in lightly to make sure its adhering.
  22. Congrats
  23. I have thought about doing a few videos and putting them on youtube. But I am way too lazy for that. The camera is a kodak p880 with a wide angle lens. Its a great point and shoot camera. My only complaints are shutter lag and crummy built in flash. It has a bazillion features and all I ever use is macro and auto
