  1. Scott, Looks good, and you are 99% there. I do have to ask that the ab buttons get a darker blue. The blue on them now is a very true blue, and it should be a much darker navy color. I believe it is a Humbrol #5 Also, are these snap heads? I wanted to see if they are the correct size. They should be about 7/16th in size, and to me they look big. I am not sure if they have Chicago screws down under but these work very well: Tandy leather Chicago screws Again, this is a very small part, but to keep in the Elite tradition, I would say those need a slight upgrade. Thanks, look forward to seeing this soon!!! Don't give up, you are SOOOOOO close!!
  2. Just so everyone knows, ALL ELITE SWAG REQUESTS HAVE BEEN FILLED AND SENT!!!! Well done troopers!!!
  3. Actually, this is not a good idea and would probably really hurt the sale of the DVD and would also infringe on Copyright Laws. Everyone should feel free to buy a copy and use their resources to play it on a PC, old PS2, Xbox, whatever. I am locking this thread and poll, as we cannot condone this sort of action, no matter how well the intentions are. Thanks.
  4. OK, as is the case, my fellow FISD Brethren make my job very easy. First off, we do need a D-Ring, so that will need to be addressed. Jo-Anns sells them, and drilling a 1/8th hole in each side of the mount will give you room to install the ring. Cut some of the straight part of the ring off so you can bend it slightly and then slip in in the hole and slide down. Bend back into shape and adjust. Second, I do need to see a shot of you in armor with the split showing. I know it seems trivial, but it is good to actually see the split is BELOW the belt, as per the standard. Other than that, and the things you have already addressed, you are good to go!!! Nice work trooper!!!
  5. I think 90% of us use nylon strapping, but if you can find 3/4" canvas webbing, that would probably be stiffer. Something like you find at an army surplus store???
  6. OK, this is just my $.02, but cutting the cod piece does not really give you any benefit. I am sure there may be some who disagree, but I cut my first FX, and shortly there after regretted it. I have redone my TK and converted the FX to a TD, and got a new ab piece and left them both intact. Again, just one troopers opinion. Scott
  7. Excellent work!!! Now we just need to see that updated blaster shot, and you my friend are all set!!!
  8. Doug, Kit looks outstanding. All items are in order, but I would suggest you could lower your belt a touch in the future, as well as maybe bring your bicep elastic up a touch to keep it hidden. Anyways, all critiques aside, looking great bro!!! Elite Status granted. Please report to the lower hanger, we need backup dealing with the rebel ship that we just brought aboard. Nice work trooper!!! Another first try acceptance. Maybe we need to revisit the standards some more??? Nah!
  9. They are not stated, but it is a good item to have. If you want to do them, I would use a nickle (I am not sure what UK coin would be the same size), and trace them on some ABS. Cut 'em out and just glue over the rivet. I will have to ask that those be added, simply because we have another Elite request that had two on the center, and i asked him to change those as well. It would be hard for me to justify asking one trooper to remove the extra cover but not asking another to add them Oh, and I believe ST has done an upgrade, but that one slipped through. Thanks for understanding, and if you need some ABS for the caps, PM me your address and I will make some and send them to you!!! Scott
  10. Wow, Excellent job. Not too many get Elite on their first try. Well done, and I agree with ST that the thighs need to come up a little, and I would also suggest maybe narrowing the lower part of the thighs (although bringing them up might cure that as well). Nice work, and Elite Status granted! Please report to the Tractor Beam junction point on level 7. A couple of the noobs reported hearing some noises, and reported a possible drill (there is no drill in progress). Check it out trooper, and well done!!
  11. Yea, I am the Telecom manager, and I oversee the Network group, so that is totally within my power. Although I would have a hard time Justifying it!!
  12. Just need an updated shot of the blaster, and a shot of the back with the split shown. Nice work on the 501st acceptance as well!!!!
  13. As do we, and we are open again. Glad it got re-categorized, as I could not in good conscience white list the forum. It was tempting!!!
  14. You blaster as it sits now is closer than most, especially the Hasbro mods. The issue is not the scope, it is the front sight and the D-Ring that are not ANH accurate. You probably could Mod the front site a touch, and just remove the D-ring and be good to go. I would hate for you to buy a new blaster when the one you have is such a good specimen, but we do need to make sure it is ANH. Hope this helps, Scott
  15. Could be definitions. If you (or they) are using Websense, it used to think the FISD was a gaming site, and categorized it accordingly. If that has been changed, as it should be, we could be in the clear. I will have to check tomorrow!!!
  16. Gentleman, Once again you make my life and job much too easy. I do concur I would like to see a pic with the split more apparent (should be easy), as well as the blaster updated for ANH. I would also like to see an updated shot of the biceps and elastic. The droopy elastic just really stands out!!! Once again these are the little details that are not in the specific requirements, but as you can see, they (the blaster changes) are NOT consistent with an ANH kit. While we are not trying to be costume freaks, we do want to be picky enough to make the effort worth it for all. And finally, we will need to wait for your TKID to come through, although I see no reason that should be an issue. Nice work trooper!!!!
  17. I will second that!!!!
  18. Ah, I just could not resist. Very nice job trooper, Elite Status granted. Please report to the fire control area. Those gunners just can't keep up, so please get those guns loaded quickly trooper. Paul will be along shortly to update your status, assuming you survive the upcoming Rebel Assault!!! He, he, he, he.
  19. Dan, Very nice job. Submission is a nice piece of work. The only think I see if you need to send me the blaster for approval (just to be sure). If you want, change the counter to 4149 before sending, and your approval should be right around the corner.
  20. Brian, Very nice job. The FX is a hard kit to mod for Elite Status (trust me, I know). Elite Status granted, on two conditions (well, really more like suggestions, but you get the idea). 1) Use the Elastic idea for the chest. Glue to the ab plate, and then use velcro to attach inside the chest. This will keep it from riding up. 2) Take your shoulder bell straps and move them forward about an inch. Not sure how you attached them, but that will go a long want in keeping them forward. I would also consider doing an elastic strap around the bicep to attach inside the shoulder bell. Paul will make the update to your profile. Now please report to the Tie Hanger on Level 3 for marching practice. Well done trooper!!!
  21. OK, OK! I told you guys I was in Phoenix!!! Back to life on the Death Star, and here we have another Trooper thinking he is up to snuff. Well, let's take a look around and see what we can find wrong! Kit looks good, helmet is sharp, gap are filled and blaster is secure. Nice job trooper, Elite Status Granted!!! Paul, you mind making the change? Now, please report to the hanger bay control room. We have a few droids running around that need to be wrangled!!!
  22. OK troops, I have about 4 requests, and they will be shipping soon, however I ran out of white vinyl, and have more on order. So, for those of you who have not received your requested swag, hang in there. I should have these out to you no later than next weekend.
  23. So Todd, Do you want me to bring the T-Track and D-ring to Phoenix? Leaving Wednesday night, and I will be happy to throw it in the armor bin!!!!
  24. That is what we are here for!!!
