My ANH stunt build progress (pic heavy)[*FX]
Scott M. replied to Tiepilot1138's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Are you using nylon strapping or Elastic? I would loose any elastic (with the exception of holding the ab and back plate) all together. Also, I would remove the shoulder strap connection to the back plate, and let it hang loose. It will allow the chest and back to be at the right height. You may need to use a heat gun to shape the shoulder straps, but it will look better. On the right leg ammo box, line up the center box with the seam on the from of the thigh, and then wrap both directions. Use tape so the bottom sides of the belt sit even with the thigh piece. I tried to see if I had any pics to show this, but alas, I am picless!! Hope this helps. -

Congrats Billy!!! Bill E! Bill E! Bill E!

Are you using a washer on the back side of the rivet? I could see it pulling out without one, but with a washer, that would be one really tough pull!!!

Outstanding dirt bucket!!! -
Gentleman, I wanted to try and get back online here and offer up some explanations. I have received some SWAG requests, and I will do my best to get these done in the next few weeks. I know some have been waiting a while, and I apologize. Here is a little background, and hopefully some of you will provide me some grace and accept my apology for being absent recently. Some of you know my wife had a seizure and brain surgery last July. Well, we are still battling the recovery, and she is on her 4th different anti-seizure medication. We have been struggling to find the right fit, and are now being told she may have to go on meds to offset her side-effects, because it may not be the meds, but her surgery that is causing her issues. Now you are probably asking, what issues are those? Well, she has not slept through the night more than a handful of times since the surgery, and is not battling depression and sleep deprivation daily. On top of that, her most recent med is making her sick, and we just learned today that she has been getting too much medication, and we need to back off and hope her illness gets better. I think if that was it, I could deal, but to add to all the crap, my father died last month, left no will, no life insurance, and now I have to be my brothers keeper, landlord, and loan manager, as well as Personal Rep for his estate, and get all his bills paid off. So, I tell you this NOT for anyone to feel sorry for me. Thank God for friends and prayers and support, or who knows what I would be doing now. I have not turned my vinyl cutter on for probably 8 weeks, and I am just struggling to make it through the day. I have trooped a few times and that has helped, but it has NOT allowed me to keep up with things liek the SWAG many new Infantrymen deserve. The bigger issue is now, what should it say??? Should it be ANH EIB? Not sure how we want to do this. Bottom line is I WILL get these out to you troopers who have sent me a PM, and those others going forward, it just might take me some time. I will see if Paul has any ideas on the new decal wording. Heck we can event do ANH Expert. That works for me. I appreciate all the FISD has done for me over the last two years, and I want to be more active here when I can. Keep on trooping and working on those kits!!! I will try to be here as much as I can, and wil do my best to get those decals kicking again. Thanks brothers!!!

ANH - Stunt Elite Request TD3129.[57]
Scott M. replied to Miami437's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Nice work trooper!!! Elite Status approved. Now, please report to Garbage Smasher 326-3827 on Detention Level 5. There were a few rebels in their earlier (and a wookie), so the drain is all clogged with wookie hair. Need a few troopers to help clean that out!!! -
TK 3165 requesting AHN Elite STUNT status.[58][AP]
Scott M. replied to TKyoda's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Considering this has already been stated, I will just make a point to quote it. Also, for your submission pics, do you have a shoulder bell that does NOT have the 501st decal? I hate to ask you to remove it, but I am not sure we can pull a screen grab with the logo on it. Maybe someone could photoshop one in??? All in all looking good. And as for your T-Track, you are good. I must admit that is the best Hasbro Mod I have seen!!! -
TK 3165 requesting AHN Elite STUNT status.[58][AP]
Scott M. replied to TKyoda's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Looking good. One question I have is that AP looks to have bubble green lenses. Is that the case? For the stunt, the lenses need to be flat. Maybe it is just the flash or angle, but the lenses do look to be bubbled. Other than that, looking good so far!! -
I see a trend here!! Very nice. Looking good, and I will need to resend Garth's!!! Stoopid USPS!
-
Certainly. If they look right on you, there is nothing wrong with the way they are built!!!
-
Are your thighs really that much of a barrel shape? No offense meant at all, but usually there is a taper to the thigh. This is pretty common, and many guys with the FX have this look until trimmed. If you look at the screen grabs, you can see the bottom of the thigh is smaller. I have mine so I can turn the thigh 108 degree, and slip in on , then rotate after I get my foot in and pull it up. Sort of like a funnel as opposed to a straw. You can then do the mod and cut the bottoms out in a circular pattern. Here is a shot of the back of my thighs in my FX. You can see how the bottoms are smaller than the top. This kit has seen MANY changes since 2007 when these pics were made, but it is the best shot of the thighs I have. Hope this helps.

TK 8089 requesting AnH Elite Status.[56][FX]
Scott M. replied to Zoltan Tyrell's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Nick, Very nice work. I would like to nitpick and say you need to make some changes, but I simply cannot. Top notch job trooper. Elite Status granted. Now, get your armored backside to the hanger bay, we have a small band of "rebels" trying to escape, and even though Lord Vader wants to "let them go???????" , we need it to look convincing. So, look sharp, don't hit anyone, and try not to get yourself shot!!! -
TK 1355 requesting AnH Elite Status.[55][TM]
Scott M. replied to Turrican's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Looks good. I would agree the flash washed out the color a bit,a nd the gaps look good. Elite Status approved. Now please report to the Detention Area, Level 5, block AA23. Please use the rear entrance, as the turbo lift has been compromised!! There is a small skirmish there that needs your support. -
I would get a small piece of ABS, and shape it with a heat gun to fit the inside, then glue it over the crack. Will add a little bit of stiffness to the shin, but it should also prevent the split form growing!!

TK-2073 Requesting Elite Status.[54][SDS]
Scott M. replied to synaptyx's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
WHAT THE????? Oh, the thigh, I get it, sorry, I thought you said something else. Well done trooper. Very nice kit, and Elite status approved. Please report to to deck 5, near the hanger bays. A couple of troopers are walking some huge hairy "thing" around, and I am just not sure they can handle him. In case he gets loose, feel free to fire at will!!! -

Scott M. replied to synaptyx's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
I agree, but for the sake of clarity, can I get a better pic of the blasters mag side so we can see the t-track? I am sure it is there, but I want to make sure we can all see it. I also agree with Terrell that the left thigh should come up about 1/2" to 1" or so, but has no bearing on the app. Get me an updated blaster pic and we should be all set, Now to head off and figure out where to assign you to.............. <_< -

Well, I feel I need to see it in person to be 100% sure. PM sent with my address. When I receive it, I will let you know!!! Nice work trooper, Elite Status approved!!! Now, off you go to the lifts on level 5. There is a reactor leak in the detention area that needs cleaned up, and we will want extra security up there. One very important "guest" we need to take care of. Paul, will you be so kind and update our troopers status??? Well done trooper!!! -

Scott M. replied to Turrican's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Very nice. The side gap issue as the photos show is just the right side. The left is good. Also, as on the other recent app, I believe your blue ab button is too "blue". Per the standards, they need to be the correct color, which has been identified as Humbrol #15 or whatever dark navy that will match that. Not a big deal, but I need to be consistent. Great looking kit, and you are 99% there. Well done trooper!!! -
Yes you did, and they went out with all the others. Being in Japan, it might take a few extra days, but they are en route! Glad you like them You know what I have not seen is where people put these. I would assume on the armor totes, but I would love to see a few pics of "Elite Swag in Action" Hint hint!!!
