  1. Thats ok , you can show it off at the Doncaster event. I'll be there on the Sunday.
  2. Super job Richard as always. look forward to seeing it in action.
  3. Wow, Richard your Gadget Man. Very impressed with what you have achieved. Awesome. Love the tunes except for the last one. What’s that all about ‘peace’?? Had to laugh. Well done m8. You’ve got skills. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi there, First of all , amazing build you have achieved. I too started off building a whole TK suit out of Eva foam. Had the same experiences as you with plastidip paint too. The experience I gained led me to take the plunge and buy a vac formed 1.5mm abs kit and build it myself. I found all the previous skills learned actually made the abs kit build easier and built it in far less time than the Eva foam version. Can’t recommend it enough. You will also be able to join the 501st ranks and troop with your local squad or garrison. But until then enjoy what you’ve achieved. Well done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi there and welcome. Can only reinforce what has been advised already. There’s plenty of info on where to buy your whole suit, and where not to as well. Stay away from eBay and Etsy and mass produced toy shop type vendors as a rule, it will save you money and time in the long run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Coming on nicely Richard. Sounds exciting what your planning sound effects wise. Do post a video when you get the electronics working. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Have you thought about approaching The guy at Tramp? He may have a solution. Guys an electronics affects genius. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I guess or though not sure, correct me someone if I’m wrong, you would have to wait until an induction event where someone would have the club brand stickers. It’s unlikely you would be able to have them sent to you. Just better to have a spare bell to wear when trooping in private events. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I ordered another shoulder bell from Ross at RWA. It’s just easier to swap it out when needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi Matt and James. I had more or less the same problems with my forearms. My joins we’re actually a lot worse. My arms are so thin that by the time I trimmed the excess off and butted the joints, the arms were oval and the cover strips just wouldn’t sit flush across the joints. In the end I had to apply the glue but put some heavy weights on top the arms in order for the drips to contact both sides of the joints. Left them for 72 hours and then reinforced with strips on the insides too. Did work though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have the Troopa Coola fans and they’re great. Good value for money. I don’t think it’s a must either to have a mic to hear what’s going on but it’s a choice thing. So far I can hear quite clearly so no need for me. I have an Anker 5700 power bank and works great. I also have the Tramp voice amplifier with sound affects and loops. Sounds brilliant. 12. Hi Jeremy, Welcome to the FISD. Great choice RS for your armour. I believe they don’t put a grill behind the teeth in their helmet, so you will need to get some material to fit inside. This will help to hide your face on a troop. They don’t blackout the inside of the helmet either, so you may want to do this before fitting any fans or wiring in. I used 1 mm eva foam or you may prefer to paint black. A lot of new troopers ( me included ) tend to put too much padding in the top of the helmet causing it to sit too high off the neck. My advice is to not have any there and just have padding around the ears and back of the head, but it will some take experiment to find what suits your head. Aim to see out of the top of the visor rather than the middle or bottom and your peripheral vision will be much better. Fans are good idea to keep cool and keep the visors from steaming up. 13. Congrats on your clearance and welcome to the FISD & the UKG. Hoping this mini me version of a TK will bump into you at a troop in the UK at some point in the near future.

Superb. This made me laugh out loud.
  17. Congratulations Sam on obtaining Expert Infantry status. Well done. Just in case you may feel a little bit put off from the above suggestions to reach Centurion, Don't be, I had to do the same for some of the listed things for your armor . You wont be sorry and your armor will look even more superb than it already does. I had the same issue with my DT as well. I just cut approx 10mm off the white panel and then moved the clips round and re-screwed them back on. I carefully ran a Stanley knife along the finish line and then eased the waste strip off without disturbing the panel from being already glued on. Job done in 10 minutes. Most of all the other things too are easy fixes . Good luck.
  18. Hi Eric, Loved my BBB day so much I recorded a video for prosperity of me opening and getting everything out. Like Christmas Day as a child. Enjoy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Last year i made a full Stormtrooper suit including the helmet out of Eva Foam and it was not cheap when comparing it to an ABS suit. The materials and paint was around £400 and it took 3 months to build. My ABS suit cost as a kit around £600 , was half the work and took the same amount of time to build. The difference though is that my ABS suit is 501 cleared, movie accurate and will last many troops and just looks far far better when weighing up the difference. For me its a no brainier really.
  20. Well done Richard, Had a feeling you would take up a position on FISD. Well deserved m8. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Love the memes, especially the first one. After my first troop I just had to make adjustments so I can walk properly in it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hi, In the UK here we have the one garrison, but I would expect with such a vast country as yours it would be more practical to join the nearest to where you live so you can troop at more localised events. Cosplay as a hobby can be expensive with travel and accommodation costs. So keeping it local with maybe the odd effort to travel to the big events further a field will make it easier. Plus you can connect with others more closer to you and possibly meet up in between troops. I’m sure whichever you choose to join, you will be made most welcome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Could I ask for a photo, I think I may have to do the same? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi Tim, May I ask if when they completed the alterations on the thighs did they create a new return on the edges? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
