  1. I like that lens mounting option!
  2. After a hectic week I was able to take stock of a few things and start checking off some lists. Orders are out for lexan scissors, E6000, and magnets. Store runs for painters tape, clamps, and who know what else are happening. The only actual progress was rough-cutting the big bits with the metal shears (I decided using a box cutter in my lap in the living room would be counter-productive)...
  3. Thanks, Dan and Chris, trooping etiquette will definitely be a learned experience. I've been walking around the apartment with a nerf gun, remembering how to safe carry (the real thing was a long time ago). But I was thinking more about character development; who is that stormtrooper, what planet are they from? Maybe I'm the only one who writes a novella in their head when they start a project like this...
  4. Who are these people and what did I get myself into? There are so many incredible builds going on here... The comment about "working model" is true, this thing is SO detailed. Big ups!
  5. I would donate a box of medals to have several of the build threads updated... a picture really is worth a thousand words.
  6. How deeply do people go on their character development? Just a nickname or a whole backstory? I'm an old RPG type and building a backstory was always a big part of the draw. It was even more fun running a campaign and inventing entire worlds. So confess, how far do you go?
  7. You forgot WIP in your alphabet soup! Looking forward to your build. Get ‘em!
  8. Nomex gloves are generally comfortable and close-fitting. I don't know this from trooping but I was a Parachute Rigger in the Navy and all aircrew wore them. They made great liners on cold days for us fools on the flight deck, too. And they're flame resistant!
  9. Note to self; mark strips when tagging parts.
  10. TX... You look so much like a guy I used to work with!
  11. Wealth of info here! Thanks!
  12. Nope, not in SfB. We have both at work so I didn't notice until this morning.
  13. Anyone use Skype regularly? They added some new emojis this week... got to love dropping a FO-TK on ones messages.
  14. Is the interior coating required or just a good idea?
  15. My untrained eyes think that armour looks great on you! Thanks for the updates!
  16. Oh, good! I discovered this today and didn't want to ask here or bug Mark on the weekend. (You really can find all the answers if you read enough builds!)
  17. That’s the same as Santa Cruz, CA to Bryan, TX, where the only trooper I know in real life lives.
  18. Ubiquitous autopsy shot... And I don't want to admit how long I looked at this piece wondering where the heck it went... d-oh!
  19. Looking forward to following your progress. Looks like several of us pulled that trigger at the same time.
  20. "I cut it three times and it's still too short!" - every woodworker ever
  21. I have a variant developing in the back of my mind that will require it...
  22. Has anyone worked with these folks before? Their E-11 looks pretty incredible (or credible, as the case may be) and the reviews are 5-star all the way... https://www.etsy.com/listing/192791479/star-wars-stormtrooper-e-11-blaster-prop Edit: oh, hello search function... some described it as a “Centurion level blaster.”
  23. Incredible work! The pre-painted version looks good to go for a Sandy.
