Great progress, Michael. That’s coming along really nicely. As you’ve got a good touch with the green stuff, there are a couple of easy fixes you could apply, if you wanted to. It appears that, interestingly, your counter is missing some resin between the pins; Two small blobs of green stuff could sort that out. Another blob could be added to the hole in the underside of the folding stock, again, if you fancied it. I know you mentioned that you’re not going for “Hero” levels, however it’s clear to see that you’re good with the green stuff and could probably do these bits in your sleep. Do you have internal padding? My first lid had the traditional star foam at the top. Due to the wonky nature of a TK lid, my head size and the positioning of the padding, my left eye (if I remember correctly) was pushing up against the lid. Hmmm...like Daniel, I’m a little confused. As the coverstrip is on the outside of the armour piece, it shouldn’t play and part in the space between the arm and the armour. I have quite slim arms, so just cut more (evenly) from each side of the limb, then butt jointed the two with the coverstrip. If my arms were larger, I’d have cut less away from the limb part, but still covered with a 15mm strip. I believe the strip size would only increase if needs must, for example if the trooper is of a larger build and needs to cover some larger gaps. :-)

Good stuff, Greg. Would adjusting the width of the coverstrips be done to bridge a gap in the limb parts (assuming they’re too small to fit)? I’m guessing the amount of excess on each part varies between armour makers. Thankfully, my RWA armour had enough excess on the limbs that I could size up and fit without having to change the size of the coverstrips. So, even if I had to add an inch or so to the biceps, for example, I would have simply trimmed less off of the bicep halves and still added a 15mm coverstrips. If that makes sense. ;-)

Yep - if you’ve kept any of your housing for the large end, that’s a handy way to mount it - the housing gives you a nice place to attach the reticle lens, too. I’m sure you’ll be able to adapt it if your housing isn’t available. Tino’s builds show his front lens assembly. I believe he hollowed a little lip from the inside for his small lens. (Much better than my own attempt ). FYI - I’ve just gone through your pics - that is some TIDY work. Great start!

Hi David, Just going back a couple of posts to your question on arm sizing. Personally, I was recommended a finger’s width around the biceps and top of forearms (around elbow). This should stop it from looking baggy, but still give decent arm movement. At the wrist end, I was advised to make them as tight as possible, so your hand can just about squeeze through without your gloves on. (Gloves can tuck in afterwards). If you're still in the “tape things up and try it” phase, perhaps give that a go and see how that works for you. Dan :-)

If you’re going for an ANH Trooper, maybe have a look into hand painting the tube stripes, traps and tears rather than stickers, if you wanted to. Just adds a little extra detail.

Hi Mark, Not sure if this is any help, however you could put an extra pin in your trigger to stop the travel, thus not needing the #2 pin that you have. Here’s a pic of what I did, (apologies, the picture is very basic) Green is a very rough representation of the hollow area behind the trigger. Blue is where my spring is (approx) Red is the extra pin to determine the end travel. The red pin touches the inner housing BEFORE the trigger comes out too far. Now, I have no idea how he hollowed part of your grip looks, but maybe it throws another option into the ring. Ps, apologies for the awful diagram. Access is approved periodically so just keep an eye on that thread - AC will add "updated" to the thread when the next batch of trooper are approved access. Hi Tom, From one RWA Trooper to another, congrats on building a lovely looking set of armour. Especially for your height - you’ve fitted it really well :-) Just a couple of things I’d add (and these won’t affect basic clearance). TD screws could be replaced for pan head, slotted screws (I got mine from eBay for a few quid). Won’t affect basic or EIB. If you wanted, you could probably trim a little more of off the main belt. Again, shouldn’t affect clearance, just a suggestion. Ref the bump in the traps, I too wondered about these when I first saw the a RWA lids, however, closer inspection of screen used lids show signs of the bump. (Possibly a tad bigger on the RWA lids). There are now lots of RWA kits with EIB and Centurion so shouldn’t be a problem for you. Best of luck with your IWG clearance. Nice work, Mark. I also struggled a little with the trigger ‘travel’. Left on just one pin it just swung freely - not ideal. I ended up with another pin around 90degrees from the spring, restricting the outward movement. Looks like you’ve adapted well on the fly.
