  1. Looking good. I'd trim off the tops of the thighs a tiny bit to be shorter. This'll allow it to be more mobile. You've got a lot of extra to spare. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi-mtKCqcXYAhUo3IMKHavoAacQjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftopgunsga.deviantart.com%2Fart%2FCostumes-of-Rogue-One-Stormtrooper-25-624578525&psig=AOvVaw0M6LKXphTKAd5IzHdQmn03&ust=1515395969012954 https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=0ahUKEwjhlLOtqMXYAhUG94MKHUs9CqgQjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fimgur.com%2Fgallery%2Fa6nCj&psig=AOvVaw0M6LKXphTKAd5IzHdQmn03&ust=1515395969012954
  2. Are you going to make any major modifications to the Black Series? Like changing the brow height? Imo I feel that most of the character is in the brow, because the one on the BS is still too high for my liking. I did the brow change in my HOWTO thread, and seeing how you're butchering all the parts on your build, it seems like it'd be right up your alley Keep the build coming! You're actually being really helpful towards ideas for my build. Even thought I finished it at one point, it really needs some things changed. Speakin of which, if you were to make a couple more belt boxes, how much would you charge for a complete set to Illinois? Could you pm me?
  3. The right hole exists on the Rogue one armor, but that indentation on the left doesn't. You've accidentally been sent an Inferno plate.
  4. How are you going to fuse the abdomen back together? I'd advise using plastic sheets or something to reinforce it. It won't go back together with epoxy 2 part glue if there's no reinforcement.
  5. Try using gorilla glue 2 part epoxy. Hasn't failed on me yet when filling cracks.
  6. It should be mentioned that the brow on the Jim helmet is much thicker than it should be. Yes, it nearly touches the eyes like on the screen used pieces, but it's too tall. It should be thinner, but definately lower like on the Jim helmet. The problem is in the top half of it, not the bottom half.
  7. Whelp, I guess it's time to resurrect this thread. As I'm trying to get this puppy up and kicking for approval, I need to make some changes. This includes, changing the thighs out completely. This is where I begin to run into problems. First off, I'd love to keep the thighs (they're scratch built, all except the ammo belt), but the cheap For Sale Sign plastic chipped in one area, and a split started coming. So I bought some WTF thighs for OTTK's, and plan to modify them to be R1. Thought it won't be perfectly symmetrical or screen accurate, I'm hoping that for basic, this'll get the job done. Would love some tips or so on this, because I can't afford Jimmoroqui armor (not to mention, the horrid shipping costs the country is putting on boxes there). So here's the thighs. Theo only thing that worries me is the front rectangular shape in the mold, where the cover strips will go. I plan to put the correct ones on, but it won't be so wide that it'll cover that section (because, the strips aren't wide). So that section will stick out like a sore thumb. I plan to weather it, so maybe I could hide it?
  8. Be careful closing and peeling tge velcro wgen using the armor closures. My chest got cracks from flexing too much to get tge velcro unattached.
  9. How did you mask off the teeth to paint it? I always have problems painting that spot.
  10. 2 hangers then xD It should be clarified that the ones you posted are when they were being made, not when being used. The one I posted was when they were used on set, so technically, it's "screen accurate" xD
  11. Well, there are hangers in the BTS videos and photos, but it appears that the Approval staff are wrong. The hangers are dark grey not black... https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiL5qKrqJfYAhWF8oMKHcAjBzAQjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fgeektyrant.com%2Fnews%2Fphoto-of-the-stormtrooper-dressing-room-from-star-wars-the-force-awakens&psig=AOvVaw31ef1iamJWTY5h560PUUpF&ust=1513815475938554
  12. Does anyone have good pics of the handcuffs Jyn Erso and Cassian are put in on Jedha, or of the handcuffs in the prisoner transport? Those are the updated Stormtrooper handcuffs (they put them on Jyn and Cassian in Jedha), and I would like to make it in the future.
  13. No no, the one's in battlefront 2 extends into 3 sections. And there is 1 scene where a TK has the baton in his hand, and it's when he passes Jin's cell. When it's on the belt of the one on the transport and the door explodes, he slightly turns towards the camera, and there is clearly no extra handle like on Jyn's . In regards to if it's relevant, we've never had TK's with riot batons like these until Rogue One, and now that Battlefront II has it, it seems strange that only now they'd do it. Not only that, but it's also like the whole cauldron thing all over again. They only appeared in ANH, but now they've been introduced into games, Rebels, TFA and TLJ.
  14. Possibly. However there is no protruding handle seen in any of the reference shots. And now in Battlefront 2 it's very common for troops in story mode to run put from behind cover with a long extended baton like darthcues.
  15. Great! Btw do you have a link to the one you ordered? And also, is there a version of this baton that is not sold in Japan, Asia, or China? Anything over there has real slow shipping times, and my family isn't too fond of the struggles involved with trying to receive the ordered item.
  16. Specifically this pic. It matches everything I see in the movie and the video game, all except for the peculier orange ring up at the top...
  17. Ok awesome. My photos unfortunately disappeared, however this is probably a good thing. I have an idea. What if we used darthcue's baton that he attached a few pages ago as the CRL model, and I can include my holster for you, and we can combine the 2? Just a thought, but I honestly believe that darthcue's baton (and the pic he attached showing the measurement of it extended) is the closest we can get to it, not to mention most accurate. Also are you sure those guards aren't considered deployed? They are standard troops that have been sent to that planet to act as prison guards (at least that's how I interpret it).
  18. Hey Daetrin, would you be able to update the baton segment? Half of the description or so discusses a rectangular striking area, which we know now not to be on the real baton. Especially if we're going to hand it over to MEPD, they're going to want the most accurate version of the CRL that we can make.
  19. In my opinion shoe polish wouldn't be the best stuff to use, unless you want it to rub off (of course, hairspray over it works as a clear laqour). Now I haven't worked with the stuff, but if you want it to stick, you should use the "Basic Acrylics" you can find at Hobby Lobby and Joann Fabrics. You brush it on, slightly (only slightly mind you) mist it down with water, then wipe off most of it. Yes, there'll be smears, but take a damp paper towel and start dabbing it into the armor, creating natural watery splotches effects. Then let it sit and dry. You can use this on dirt brown colored paint, or black paint. I did the black for my R1TK, but will go back on it later to create a more dirt effect.
  20. Don't do full strips of velcro. I made the mistake of using wide pieces of industrial strength velcro for the front and back of the side connections for the chest/back armor. Starting making cracks from all the pealing of the velcro. I'd advise small quantities of the Industrial strength.
  21. I just got my 501st id for my Kylo yesterday!!! Whoop whoop! My R1TK will be done soon and will submit that for approval, just waiting on thigh armor kit to arrive, finish my abdomen, and repaint some parts. But my R1TK is weathered. Mine's the one in the middle. If you're willing to wait for a few weeks (probably end of Dec. at best), I can get this done and get you the Trooper portion of it. Just missing the pack. Perhaps photoshopping the pack on? I should also clarify that my pauldron doesn't have the white underside, though if the pictures were taken just right, maybe it wouldn't be a big problem? -----------
  22. The smaller pack is the Jedha patrol, and the crystal one is the big pack with the holes in the back
