  1. Also as a final note, there are lovely well made fan films on Youtube made by others that inspired me to do this one. Notable films are: Darth Maul: Apprentice, upcoming fan film "Oddyssy," and Scout: A Star Wars Story.
  2. Thanks man! Haha, I wish I could film outside of the woods, I like to think of the lack of redwoods as another part of Endor near one of the redwood populated forests. I like to think conditions and altitude have to do with the lack of tall trees in that sector Yes and no. This is my first fictional film that I've made, all my other films/videos are documentaries and such. They usually are Religious themed, but my major documentary that went on EWTN in January is on the channel as well
  3. Hey guys! My R1TK is officially approved! Whoop whoop! In other news however, I made this fan film with members of the 501st, family, and friends (poor family...) and below is a trailer for it. The final film will be posted on June 10th, so keep an eye out for that. I'll be coming up with a Field Report soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=443fj5XUrRQ&feature=youtu.be
  4. I think what they're meaning is that they want R1TK's with the packs. No offense, you guys look great! With the way the 501st works right now, mixed media isn't approvable at the moment.
  5. Much better picture of the baton.
  6. Pack for free? My Standard TK is almost done It's just at Basic approval, not Centurion...
  7. No, it's not just you. The links are broken because they're copied and pasted. Dargh!
  8. Do we want to add the 2 tabs on the kidney plate bottom that's supposed to go underneath the belt as level 2 or 3?
  9. Will do! Sorry, I've been incredibly lazy xD For Basic approval: -Is made up of 3 sections that extend outward when in use. When not in use, it appears as 1 cylinder. -Is black. -Hangs off of the left rear belt of the TK, on a black piece that acts as a holster. It will be attached at 2 points on the holster: one at the top, and one at the bottom. This avoids the baton swinging. -The holster can be made from any of the following: Leather, rubber, or leather-like material. Unfortunately there just isn't much to base the info off of. Only 2 shots in the film, and the batons in Battlefront 2 that we can assume comes from the same thing. Below is the pic I feel best represents the Battlefront 2 model, that can be used as the CRL pic unless better reference comes out in the future. Oddly enough, in Battlefront 2 on Gamers Little Playground Cutscenes video (updated), in the intro Iden Versio knocks out a rebel with one she pulls out of nowhere.
  10. So in regards to the strapping conversation, I just stumbled across this pic on the internet. Look at the backarmor behind the shoulder bell. Yup, there's a strap and buckle sticking out from the abdomen. Fascinating. Ukswrath, what are your thoughts? It looks to me like in the back they did the criss-cross pattern with the overalls, and that it starts at the top of the sides.
  11. In regards to sitting, I think I have an idea on how that can be done more freely. The belt tends to stay stationary, so there's no room for movement when you articulate. So I think what can be done is if you cut some slots in the belt section of the abdomen, and slip some eleastic or nylon strapping through that and connect it to the belt from behind, it can move forward if you bend down. I have yet to try this, but if it helps you I'd say give it a go and let us now how it works
  12. Yes, but outside of R1 all TK's have them generically (outside of Rebels), so it's a canon thing.
  13. The baton is still the wrong image and still the wrong description There's no rectangular area, and is very likely a regular riot baton.
  14. I don't have a FOTK, but since this forum is much more active in Jimmorriqui builds, I figured I'd ask here. In all of you Jim FOTK's, how strong is the flexible fiberglass despite hair-wide stress cracks? How long has your armor lasted without repairs? Am I worrying over nothing?
  15. I for one vote for dirty TK option. Not all TK's are Death Star pristine. I have been receiving a lot of comments about how the dirty TK I have looks more realistic in comparison to the clean OTTK's next to me in the pictures we get from troops.
  16. Oh it doesn't have to be included. Imho I feel it is what gives the helmet it's character, but it could be just me. This is more for people in the future when they make helmets.
  17. Here's a better diagram of convexity versus concave.
  18. Apologies. The part of the eye you're supposed to be looking at is the bottom. Specifically on the left eye that is outlined in the photos above. The biggest indication for this is the outline on the Black Series pic, it's only on the left eye.
  19. Also Paul, did you get a chance to look at the eye hump post I made above?
  20. Does anyone have pics of the buckles on the R1TK's that would be even similar to the FOTK's? Specifically the thigh areas. From what I've seen, I haven't seen a buckle stick out of the R1TK thigh/pelvis area. Also in regards to the "hump" on the eye I noticed, that is very reminesent of the OTTK's, below is a diagram I drew of outlines of the eye shapes themselves. Here's the original pic. Below is the edited pic outlining the eye shape. Notice I flipped the image backwards to create a mirror effect, because in my experience asymmetry is better viewed in a backwards reflection. Below is the correct diagram. The true eye with the slight hump at the bottom is the left one in the pic. Here are some other examples, showing the "convexed" shape of the eye to prove there's a hump. Not only does it rise, it also protudes. Compared to the OTTK's. I'm more incline to say that it's similar to the ROTJ below. Very subtle, but existent none the less. Notice the ROTJ has a similar level of curvature to the shape of the eye, though it doesn't really protrude into a convex shape. My stance is that the hump on the eye should be for Level 3. While it is super subtle, I've learned that it's what gives the helmet it's character. The Black Series just looks...... wrong. Granted the Hot Toys looks great without it, but something is lacking. Even at certain angles it looks like the Black Series eye when looking upward at it.
  21. I think the only thing we need to emphasize is that the colors aren't glossy. They're more flat than anything.
