  1. I agree with you, a weathered set would be amazing - and heck, all the Boba nuts do it as well, let alone them Sandtroopers - and it's screen accurate after all! - I might just do it! I did wear a set of my latex handguards for some of the pics, but the only set I have ready right now is glued to a pair of gloves that is a bit too small for me... no fun wearing those! I'm getting some Plastidip (good stuff) soon and will paint a new set for trooping, then it'll be latex all the time... now that sounds kinky Here's a pic with latex handguards:
  2. I also really like this one, even with the damn knee sliding beneath the thigh again: looks classy, I'm going to use it on my Garrison trading card soon
  3. Thank you Paul I'm still not sure wether I should weather my armour or let it happen naturally. I know I want it dirty - natural weathering looks more real close up, weathering it the way I did the helmet will make it look worn and old in no time... tough decision! Yeah I really like that particular shot as well - but hey, I'm just the small guy sporting your armour, so a big part of the awesomeness is thanks to you really
  4. That was actually the photographer's idea (BH 4517) - he said I should bring all my lids along I asked for this: And while I'm posting, here's a pic of the Dave M. replica on display at the 501st booth at this year's Jedi Con. picture taken by Mr. ObiHahn We also had a brilliant time trooping together there: helmet switcheroo:
  5. As promised, here are the first pics of said photo shoot. I only got a small selection so far, I will get all the 300+ shots on a DVD tomorrow Didn't want to wait though: Pics with the Dave M. replica: And some with Paul's lid: last but not least, a little show-off
  6. I have a photo shoot in my TM soon, I'll take that lid along and have pictures made
  7. thanks for all the praise guys I'm really proud of it... guess a Brian R replica will be next
  8. as said it's a Vaj lid, he's on here as well, maybe he can chime in and give you some details. If you want to see my "making of", I've put up a bunch of pics on my Facebook account (look for Dan Sczudlik there )
  9. Exactly - who cares for the brown boxes, look at that wall! AMAZING!
  10. Okay, I gave it a go - angles aren't perfect, and I had to adjust my pics heavily (they had a blue tinge and were way too dark) but I think they'll work for now:
  11. Dennis suggested the same - thing is my pics aren't good enough - but I'll see what I can come up with
  12. Hi guys! Some of you on here already knew that I had this in the pipeline, but this weekend I finally found the time to get it close to being done: My very own Dave M. "Set For Stun" helmet replica. The helmet itself is the prototype of a new generation of Vaj lids (used to be NGB), which is yet to be released. I fixed some little cracks and webbings on it, then gave it the whole Dave M. treatment. All I need now is some screen for the mictips and then I'll call it done The pics won't show all the weathering details, it looks pretty greasy to the eye - anyhow, enough bla bla, here come the pictures: I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I'll let you guys tear it apart now
  13. He sure is. I'm surprised you actually got your armour! He's having a hard time shipping stuff locally
  14. May I ask who made that suit? Looks a lot like a MovieFX rig to me, would be a miracle how you got it to Singapore though!
  15. brilliant!!!
  16. I'm pretty sure doopydoos accept paypal as well. Just shoot them an e-mail and ask, shouldn't be a problem!

Do you have any kids, or is it just you and the wife? If it's just you two, and you don't feel comfortable where you are, I'd say go find a new job somewhere closer to the bright center of the universe With kids this might be a little more problematic, as they probably have a stable social network there that they rely on. Anyway, I can absolutely understand why your situation would be really, really depressing. I'm blessed to live in a very urban region here in Germany, with millions of people living close by, so I get my fair share of nerd friends here. I can only imagine how bad it must be being the "freak" living in an otherwise boring, conservative surrounding - if finding a job someplace else isn't an issue, I'd say do it! This hobby gets ten times better once you have people to share it with, and from what you've written it doesn't look like you're going to lose interest anytime soon
  18. cool Alex I hope others will chime in as well - there must be more ESB lids out there, no?!
  19. like that second one - still working on my screen-used ANH (Dave M) replica. Should be doing more progress on that very soon
  20. You have 9 more months and roughly two more weeks to get one done this year and show it off here... you better get started
  21. and a hyperfirm E-11 to top it all off - sweet We need more guys!
  22. Well well, with all the ESB buzz right now I felt we should do our own little celebration here. And what better way to celebrate than a show-off thread? As far as I'm concerned, I never get bored looking at our favourite cannonfodder, so I wanna see your ESB buckets! I'll start by showing off mine, it's a CAP-W that I just recently finished: Now get your pics in guys! It's drool time p.S.: I have to agree with our very own synaptyx though: It felt sooo wrong painting the frown black, I'm glad that's behind me
  23. apology accepted, captain Daetrin... walks away from force choked corpse :vader1:
  24. it's stable now Aaron, that's what the button did over the last few hours... I was just being silly
