The fact that TM was out before RS is beside the point is it? Those just show how close the TM is to the real thing. If you new anything about armour then you will know that all fan armour cast from an original set up until now was based off a ROTJ suit. TM's was a sculpt based on ANH armour.... Then came along RS that has cast an original ANH suit...... These are the only true accurate makers of ANH armour until you came along and said that yours is exactly the same? Get real.

Where, What and Whom To Avoid When Buying

I said it with a wink as I sell on eBay. It was no dig at you for warning people. I appraise the warnings given to newbs. They weren't in place when I started out and mistakes were easily made. Carry on. -

The easiest way to apply the liquid cement is to clamp the two parts together with clamps and/or magnets then with a small paint brush dip it in the solvent liquid cement/polyweld and touch the seam. It will enter the join via a capillary action and run down and into the seam/join. It's very easy and makes for a good strong, clean weld. It should be left for 15 -20 mins to go off...... I use it on every build of armour and lids.

Vacuum Forming and Drying Plastics
sskunky replied to Patrick Crawford's topic in The Foundry - Armor and Prop Making
I use my ABS direct from the supply company. If you leave it days before using it it will absorb moisture then you will need to dry it. Over here the supply companies tend to keep it in dry rooms so it can be used straight away. -
I have to ask where AP is getting his mic tips? to suddenly be able to upgrade them he had to have got hold of an original or Keith is supplying him or are they cast from someone elses? There aren't that many sources for legitimate castings..... I was asked to supply him but it never went any further.

how strange, if I type it now it works but earlier I got nothing? I was typing all sorts!

I'd say thats a major flaw rather than not great!

Why when I type in Hovi mic tips does nothing come up but when I type in mic tips it does? I have tried just Hovi and nothing comes up yet there are loads of topics with Hovi in the title? Or am I just being dumb?

I just got a reply from him to say that the only set he sold on eBay was a copy of Sds mic tips so they wouldn't have had the same interior parts as mine.

Yes I did.

He is a piece of work this guy. EBay removed my listing when I complained about him. I have reported him again and finally got to speak to someone that understands English who could see that I have been selling these longer than he's been a member. Hopefully I will get this sorted soon. In the meantime all feel free to message him and tell him how disgusted you are by his lies....

They look great! Good eye. I'm quite happy to help look for them but as for taking up the "Batton"... I am quite a busy man as I make and sell armour as well as other props from other films and have many projects on the go. But I'm always up for a challenge. You could pm me the details of your research and I can search when I have the time. I don't want to steal anyone's thunder here but cylinders have been a passion for quite some time as you can see from the plans I posted years ago with some other members. Ok so they weren't the most accurate but for the time they were a break through. Times have moved on and accuracy levels have been raised. Finding the real deals would be fantastic but I fear that boat may have sailed. We just don't have the military and aviation graveyards that used to be around in the 70's anymore. Shame......

ZeroRoom's E-11 Scratch Build (Very Pic Heavy)
sskunky replied to ZeroRoom's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I was thinking that we could get the parts laser cut in a metalic silver acrylic. Then if it got dinged it wouldn't matter.- 90 replies

Installing a hard hat suspension
sskunky replied to generalFROSTY's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I hot glue my ROTJ suspension liners in. Just make sure you hold a wet rag or sponge on the outside to where you are gluing so the plastic doesn't warp. That's how the originals were done. Either that or epoxy. Just don't use any glue that is going to melt the plastic. -

Hipsol is used for hips but a liquid solvent cement is usually good. just clamp the parts together or use magnets that aren't too strong and then dip a paint brush in the liquid glue and touch the seam, a drip should run down and into the seam in a capillary action. I use this technique for all my armour builds. It welds the two pieces together. as long as there is not too mch pressure it shouldn't warp. It will often the plastic a bit as that's what it does but 30 mins later it should be good.....
