commercial vendors: cushman is out. bad seller. lot's of people get burned. doopy won't usually sell to the USA. sci-fire has the best quality for troopers in the USA. hands down best! there are some e-bay sellers that have some parts from the original in resin, you simply make up the other parts scratch!

anyone have ROTJ scope and rail parts?
TK bondservnt replied to TK bondservnt's topic in ROTJ BlasTech E11
thanks gents. I have 2 ESB kits from steve, and a resin ROTJ kit. so I have resin scope, rail and door catch and hammers. I was thinking that sskunky would have a line on how to get the right scope and mount? was the rail resin or a metal after market part? I'm looking for the REAL metal scope and plastic mount? and if anyone has done metal greeblies? having tango's sculpts might cause me to make my own sculpts and have them done in metal? since I don't want to recast his work to make my own metal versions. the scope's brand and make would really help? info on how to cut it down? any line on the hammers and door catch real world parts would be what I'm looking for here. -
I'd go Rt mod for the legs. if you don't mind the thighs being a little short.

RS Props Helmet + SDS armor + Instagram =
TK bondservnt replied to BTJepson's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
all you have to do is flip the belt upside down and rotate the drop boxes. and for ESB the holster is on the right with loops and for ANh it's on the left with screws or rivets with tan straps from behind. -
that's a really hard call. it all depends upon your final waist and chest sizes. anything over 35" and you're going to need to shim ATA. adding shims and making your belt with chicago screws not rivets will allow you to size the torso of the armor as you change size at the waist. the thighs are a different story, as will also the shins to consider. the size of your legs is just as key as your waist.

the space trooper appears as the only photo we have of an ANH trooper wearing one? is this correct? -

the shins align from the top down. then you trim to fit the bottom and the back will not line up perfectly. you can align the shins in a certain way for the outside of the legs so that they fit better. usually a full strip of velcro will align them well enough. otherwise you'll have to use heat to get them to line up, if you're going to use the hooks. -
Sniper plate for Centurion
TK bondservnt replied to bigironvault's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
if I had a TM knee plate, I sure would have tried glue. the AP plate only has about 1/2" per side that even touches the shin. and with the flex that I need to get em on... I feel uncomfortable with glue on that part. thought about using the riveted shim as a compromise. we'll see, perhaps I'll go for it later in the year. -

I vote no on glue for the trooper knee plate. -

shims, snaps... oh... that's not good sounding. I vote rivets. not like centurion demands no attachment. it just SUGGESTS glue. and I vote that we never eliminate rivets. so let's assign keith as our test for a no fail knee plate. Lower Legs For 501st approval: Greaves close in the back. The trapezoid knee plate (sniper knee plate) is affixed to the left greave and may have two visible brads or rivets securing it to the greave. The AM greaves (shins) shall be on the proper legs, with a new cover strip. The cover strip edge shall be facing the inside of the leg. Note: There is a manufacturer defect with the AM greaves (shins) that may cause you to wear the them improperly. Please see the Tutorial titled :"AM armor shins: the proper way to assemble and wear", on the whitearmor.net For level two certification (if applicable): For level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there should be no visible rivets or brads used to secure the sniper plate to the left greave. this does not mean that you cannot have rivets or 'brads' you can have them. -
HI sam! wow... can I have parts to make mine look exactly like this? grips end cap bolt and cocking handle folding stock trigger group front sight rear sight front sling lug front and rear deflectors (one near the breech, and one on the right side of the barrel tip) the scope, sight rail, and greeblies. and last but not least the magazine, and magazine well and parts! I've been wanting the resin UBER MGC parts for about 3 years now! cast the whole lot! I'll take 3 kits!

Sniper plate for Centurion

ingrid used plastic shims inside the plate from what she told me. looks like a good idea to shim from the inside, and then it adds more surface area. -

well I have seen quite a few photos showing the knee plate fallen off. that's a great photo showing at least 2 survived. when I look at original knee plates, they are longer at the bottom. giving more surface area. -

has anyone ever noticed that in all the photos of "original" armor, that the knee plate has fallen off? I think it's probably most people's solution to bend the AP knee plate out of shape to do this. then you will have to use a glue that's much stronger than e-6000. this is exactly why I don't support the 'glued' knee in the first place. -
I watched '11 from a hospital bed, recovering from leg surgery and was awestruck by the entire series of missions that followed.

make your straps longer... to tight equals pop. keep it loose, but fitted. if the strap is too tight it causes pop. -

the belt is the only factor for base acceptance? -

TK bondservnt replied to Mattrendar's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
so it's not 501 acceptable? and again the lineage of sds is claimed to be a TE recast. well I guess AA is not responsible for the cheesegrater, or the deathstar gunner, or the many helmet designs he created that have nothing to do with designs from others. so he's not responsible for the mountain of stormtrooper helmets in the film? so the fire, in his workshop you say he recast TE? to recover the forms? that does not fit with his story. but that is a common myth. I just don't see how Matt g is more important than andrew ainsworth in any case. matt and andrew have nothing to do with each other. they are generations apart. -
