  5. a trimmed AP kit can be fun to work with. I am amazed and quite happy that there are SO many fine people here ready to help. I'm pretty aware of the AP kit. I've made almost 50 of em? PM me for personal advice. I also am available by phone. I have 3 AP kits on my workbench right now. I've done 14 at a time before... imagine that!

  10. wow! his armor is in my shop now... Eric did a pretty good job of assembly for his biceps, forearms and shoulder bells. the thighs are also pretty good. The torso came ready to trim and assemble and we decided to go with the snap plate method of assembly with e-6000 The helmet, torso/belt and shin assemblies are in process right now. only a few small things I can't really fix without using replacement parts.
  11. have an armor party with the garrison.
  12. the helmet should not be trimmed, that won't work. a chinstrap and the proper shaped star foam should work fine. just tilt the helmet forward and downwards.
  13. I have a faceplate I can donate.
  14. mike's got you covered. http://trooperbay.com/videos/assemble-accurate-stormtrooper-armor/
  15. falling off roof wearing a cape and a helmet. Priceless!
  16. there is no extra space? Perhaps you should consider your helmet padding to be changed vison has nothing to do with it. you don't gain any extra vision by using some weird screw and ABS or wood thing. stunt lenses can be velco'd in. hero lenses usually need abs stacks. to be sure. but for a stunt lens you do not lose or gain room inside the helmet. we're talking about 1/8"
  17. The size has almost no impact on your head. we are talking about less than 1/8"
  18. why don't we use the screen used method?
  19. This. you can purchase forming tool resin HERE some interesting data HERE Easily Create Molds for Vacuum FormingThe first step of the vacuum-forming process is to create your mold, also known as ‘tooling’. If you have an easy-to-use, professional grade vac-forming machine then this step is probably going to be the most in depth part of the process. It’s easy, and Formech successfully advises our customers on this initial step quite frequently. There are several ways to create a tool for vacuum-forming, and which one you use will ultimately depend on what you are attempting to achieve, the resources you have to achieve it, and how long or how many runs you will need the tool to last. Here are a few suggestions on common mold types: § Cast | Plaster, Clay, or Resin: To the right we have an example of a plaster mold utilized by our customers at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. You can actually form right over the plaster, as demonstrated with the mask below, courtesy of our friends at the London College of Fashion. American Museum of Natural History Workshop Here we see course leader Caroline Gardiner using a plaster tool to make a foam mask with the Formech FM660. This ‘Azote’ foam is handy for mask making applications and maintains excellent shape after cooling.
