  1. Hey Andrew looking forward to your build, looks like you've got some great advice so far.
  2. Copy that, keep up the good work And yes you can thin the front plate some also
  3. Nice progress Christian. Regarding the sniper knee, beside cutting the end now would also be a good time to taper the horizontal edge to follow the shin armor upper edge. Here's a reference photo
  4. I've purchased two helmets through either Disneyland or Disney World stores. They'll tell you flat out they don't stock armor or armor parts. It's drop shipped directly to your home. Unless they decided to change their policy I don't see that happening however, in this case I'd love to be proven wrong
  5. Doubtful. They usually only take orders at cons or stores.
  6. My suggestion as mentioned on numerous Anovos build threads, if you have plenty of room between your arm and the armor only trim so that your left with roughly 8mm flat surface on each side for the cover strip, starting with the forward facing (or upward) surface. If you have to take a little off at a time, it's much easier to remove material then it is to add it. Even if it's loose when assembled just add fabric foam to the interior when finished. The forearms are proportional to the biceps and bells, same with the legs. If you trim too much off one area the armor will look odd when you're done.
  7. The CRLs are supposed to be updated sometime this year but don't expect drastic changes. The FISD is about uniformity not prop replication so unless it is blatantly obvious I'd be surprised to see things like greeblie details mentioned in the current levels of accuracy . If the staff implements a 4th level of accuracy I suppose prop replication would be the focus there. Anyway, let's take one day at a time. First the BBB then the assembly. In the mean time take a moment and mull over build threads currently pinned or other in the build sections. Though undoubtedly there'll be differences with your build there'll also be many similarities.
  8. Thanks Joseph As Joseph mentioned i sell the SHA (Stormtrooper Hearing Assist). Just follow the link and look for SHA. I have few locations where you can buy them.
  9. As mentioned on other threads here and on FB sites, take the Anovos instructions with a grain of salt. The kit will need to be altered regardless but don't fret as the builds begin we'll be here to help you through it.
  10. Nothing has to be functional, it just has to look correct. I have several Praetorian blasters, all are top notch grade and 100% L3 accepted.
  11. Looking good Brad
  12. Came out awesome Dave

  14. Seeing them up close on many ocassions they are very generic in their construction. Though they look great once you look closer you quickly realize they were made to serve a purpose, delight the fans and be durable. I would imagine they have quite a few of these on hand so when deficiencies do occur they are pulled out of circulation and repaired or disguarded.
  15. Besides the fabric dye bleeding onto your armor there's nothing wrong with the Anovos supplied under suit. Since you have a black costume you won;t even see the bleeding.
  16. Whether people want to admit it or not the CRL today is an indication of what Disney and LFL think is an acceptable costume in public. The requirements at basic have only become more stringent since I've been in the legion, I can't imagine them going backwards. Regardless I'm remaining positive we'll be able to resolve these issues one way or another.
  17. Well you can't hate them too much most armor doesn't come painted period
  18. It won't matter what they ship TFA or TLJ. What is clear is areas like the shoulders for example will need to be assembled correctly to gain 501st approval, unless CRLs are down graded which I don;t see happening. That said I encourage new (FOTK) costume owners not to fret. The FISD and it's members have been down this path before with success and we'll make sure you get there also
  19. Porridge is too hot, porridge is too cold lol
  20. Congratulations Ekapol. Great to see another fellow GGG member at the higher levels of accuracy
