LoveMonkey's AM 2.0 Build Thread
ukswrath replied to LoveMonkey's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Page one http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-ata-bucket-build/ 1) Start with side one, the side that faces the front of your body. That's the side most will see. Install a inner cover strip then let dry 24-48hrs. With enough magnets and clamps you can do both forearms and biceps at the same time. After drying install outer cover strip. 2) After outer cover strip is dried on side one proceed with the opposite side starting with the inner cover strips. I would suggest using some tape to assist in keeping the halves closed and strong clamps at the ends to assist in keeping the edges aligned during this portion. Hope this helps -
Thanks Russell

11. Belt cont... & final 11b. So I was made aware just after the belt was assembled this version AM belt may not fly at the Centurion level, BUMMER! Long story short it was replaced with one from ATA. Apparently the little (illustrated) indents are reminiscent of armors gone by. No bueno! Cont... tomorrow

4. Ab& 8. Chest cont... Final strapping from ab to chest. Measure and install ab to chest mounts (ab side) Secure chest to ab at fitment marking using clamps. Secure chest to ab with clamps. Measure distance between ab and chest strap mounts. Make strapping. Finished

5. Posterior cont.... and final 5c. Fitment adjustments, install strap mounts and final pics. During the final fitment check it was recommended the posterior be cut back at the location where the connecting rivets to cod are located, the actual height of the posterior was reduced by 1/2" also and correct the angle of the ab side of the edge. First let measure and remove the original lower snap mounts. New location. First rivet at 15mm the second at 35mm. 5d. Measure and trim off 1/2" of upper edge. 5e. Install strap mounts. 20mm from edge of upper posterior to edge of webbing. Starting at 8mm from the forward facing edge. Double checking the kidney mount location to make sure it matches with the posterior. .. and measuring 20mm from the top edge. Install mounts Finished as seen in previous post.

You remedy the bad angles by assembling it a certain way. If you need more explanation hit me up. -
Drying E6000 is the smell of progress, success, VICTORY! haha Ok a little over the top but I bet it got you fired up didn't it? Cover strip measurements: 15 mm for the arms 20 mm for front of legs 20 mm for back of thighs 25 mm for back of shins If you're interested I have a little bicep retaining clip tutorial on a AM build thread, follow the link and drop about 3/4 of the page, this may help. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-ata-bucket-build/page-2

Starrfox's AP ANH Stunt Build (WIP) - Portland OR
ukswrath replied to Starrfox1's topic in ANH Build Threads
Hey James, you didn't let anyone down my friend, just different strokes for different folks. As you've figured out, there's a learning curve here. Once you know what works for you, master it. The recommended tool list is for a reason, they've been proven to work and they're cost effective. To be clear I only use the dremel in areas I can't score and snap accurately. Scissors don't work for me as my hands can't take it. That's just me, papa Tony as I've been called..lol On another note, after building a couple of rigs I invested $100 into bench style belt sander. I can now literally cut and shape armor in seconds instead of minutes and hours. Is it for everyone? No. Am I recommending that everyone run out and buy one, no however, anyone who plans on building more than one rig, I highly suggest one. Again, as you become accustomed to the plastic and your crafting skills are honed in, how you choose to build your armor and the tools you use are up to you. Finally, this is note a race. Though we have our checkered flags out for ya, whether it's in two weeks or two years we'll be here to watch you cross that finish line. -

Hey Kirk looking good sir. If you haven't done so already take a look at my AM build thread, it talks about how to assemble this particular type of armor to avoid the bad angles you're dealing with during assembly, especially with the forearms and biceps. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-ata-bucket-build/ Feel free to ask any questions. -

Flush or just below the belt edge. -
I've built armor for others that needed a bit of assistance holding things in place without using a girdle. Solution, double up on 3/4" elastic and make it about 1" shorter than needed. Can you say Ohhhhh Yeaaaa!

My only concern is it looks like your armor overlaps here. If it does this will effect how the outer cover strip will attach and look. -

Good question, I'm 50+ and still working on it lol -
I know RS and TM are unique in some areas compared to other armors. I would encourage you to look at RS Centurion request threads and follow their lead. EDIT: Here's a request thread you can take a look at. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31401-tk-44228-requesting-anh-stunt-centurion-status-rs164/

No problem sir. Note keywords "As a rule of thumb"

Actually Josh there is no definitive measurement from the top or bottom, just a guesstimate. If you look at actual screen shots they're all over the place, though 10mm is most commonly seen as you've mentioned. The only required measurement is the 10mm from the side, and that the rivets be evenly spaced. To be honest I'm more concerned about this line being straight before making any measurements.
