  1. Dang Russell looks awesome.
  2. For starters I generally make the nylon webbing rivet holes a drill size smaller than the rivet itself. I then take a cigarette lighter and slightly cauterize both sides of the hole. I get very little expansion using this technique. I've trooped over a dozen times and maybe gained 1/8" in gap. Another key is to make the rivet holes in the ab and kidney a bit smaller than the rivet itself also. This will help prevent the rivets from leaning.
  3. Mark nailed it Stein. It doesn't have to be spot on, close good enough. Your TD components may be a different than what I used for the AM build. Use the RS reference pic as a guide, you'll be fine.
  4. Hey Michael, great work so far sir The thigh ammo belt is to be held on by cap rivets. http://www.ebay.com/...=item35d9a33a26 or http://www.whitearmo...vel-rivet-sets/ or visit your local hobby shop The ab to kidney plates are split rivets
  5. Yea, sorry for taking so long. Most of trimming was done weeks ago just hadn't posted it.
  6. Hey Stein do you have magnets? If you're going to use inner cover strips you can glue both left and right sides together at the same time to cut down on gluing times. Just a thought.
  7. Trimming cont... Forearms Need I say more Forearm boxes were trimmed down to 16mm in depth. This will be mentioned more in the build portion also.

  14. Trimming cont..... BTW this is going to be heavy pics... FYI. Before I get started I'd like to add a new tool to my arsenal, the belt sander. Used it in my last TK build and immediately switched over to this bad boy for 90% of the trimming. Loving it. Sorry if this isn't a tool we should be promoting but it's a sanity saver. ON WITH THE SHOW!!! Shoulder plates.
  15. Figured, just checking, carry on
  16. This may be a dumb question but it looks like you have the inner wrist halves together, where's the outer ridge as seen here?
  17. lol awesome Simon, great job BTW, don't forget to pain those cap rivets white.
  18. Well for those who've actually followed any of my builds I've been accused to trying to re-invent the wheel on a few occasions. Not to discredit years of armor builders, but if there's a more efficient path to building armor I'll find it. Thank you for paving the path.
  19. I'm still loving your snap technique, my favorite so far.
  20. Get in line haha
  21. A lot of great ideas on this thread.
