  1. Congrats Stephane, welcome to the Centurion ranks sir
  2. Congratulation John and welcome to the ranks sir
  3. In the canon pics the back screws appear painted however, not every Centurion passed had them painted so I've asked up for some clarification.
  4. Then yes paint them. Here's a canon shot. Notice how the brackets were mounted on the return edge at one point. Either way they were painted.
  5. Correct! The only time you would paint the bracket screws is if they were visible from the outside of the armor.
  6. Heck I don't wrap magnets in anything. I have about 80 magnets I use during builds. With the exception of one chipping once in a great while if you use them correctly why wrap them? Never understood this. Edit: Sorry Stein didn't mean to hijack your thread brother.
  7. In regards to the belt, canon accuracy is what I was shooting for so yes, less is better.
  8. Hey Sean good question. Not all ammo belts are created equal. With that said my ultimate goal was to leave as little return edge as possible yet not cutting into the box return edge themselves as seen here in the RS reference pic. In my case this left me 2-3mm clearance of the boxes on each side of the belt. This just so happen to leave me almost exactly 4" total width when finished. If you have a ammo belt total width of 4" (101.6mm), removing 3mm on each side of the belt sill leaves the belt width at 3-3/4" (95.6mm) or 3/8" (9.5mm) over on each side of the cloth belt (granted the cloth belt you have is 3"). Bottom line, trimming the belt 3mm on each side shouldn't sacrifice the overall look of the belt especially as in the area where you will taper it in the corners to meet the cloth belt edge. Hope this answers your question.
  9. Hey Kirk, if you're interested take a look at this AM armor build thread I'm doing for a fellow trooper. This should give you a good idea of return edges and trimming lines echoing what Mathias said. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-ata-bucket-build/
  10. Looking sweet Peter, loving the suspension system also.
  11. Another AM build, nice!
  12. Your way will work fine and looks great also, just wanted to give you the info in case you were interested. Keep up the good work.
  13. Hey Josh, looking great sir. I know this is not a deal breaker but since you're going for accuracy I just happen to notice your shoulder to bell snap. Here's a reference pic. You have the male snap sew in instead of the female. Just a FYI
  14. The MEPD does have patches "Deployed and SWAT", and it does give out cert but only the "Deployed" level
  15. Agreed. Excellent ATA build thread
  16. Trying to get it correct the first time is my goal. Thanks for your support Jason
  17. Tell me about it, I have to walk by the brown box every day. On a positive note, watching everyone else going through build issues will help me avoid them lol
  18. I know some versions had hooks but with the stunt I hadn't seen them in and reference pics. As with a lot of minor additions it won't effect EIB or Centurion either way. As for screen accuracy with this particular build, that went out the window when we had to go with snaps
  19. Another detail I descovered and have started incorporating into my builds is, from what I can seen in refrence pics is these straps are glued to the back plate and snapped to the chest plate. Paul do you care to comment on this?
  20. I don't believe the hooks are.
