  1. ANOVOS has made it very clear, at ANY time they can change what they want, this means how it's made, what it's made with and when we're going to get it. Again, why comment on something that may change tomorrow regardless of the comments placed here. In my opinion this is corporate advertising at it's finest.
  2. Why would you want to comment on something that is pure speculation?
  3. Well here's a couple tips, when shooting for basic the weathering is not critical unless you over do it which is pretty difficult to do. When it comes to weathering besides patches of dirt that that appear on the different types of troopers most only have heavy concentratuons of dirt in the cracks and crevices. Remember these troopers were in a sand desert, dusty dirty and wind blown weathered.
  4. I love watching this thread and all the speculations that fly around and knowing not a single piece of armor, besides whats been shown at cons, has been seen or shipped lol
  5. Got ya. Well these things don't fit exact. You may have to use bondo or other to shape the area correctly.
  6. That does seem awfully wide. Something is off here, either the thigh or the mount was not pulled correctly. Not sure what to do other then contact ANOVOS and cross your fingers, or look at everyone else's builds and get creative. Sorry Brian
  7. Excellent! Like your version spat snap location, another great idea
  8. Very nice! Question, what is the black line on the back of your right thigh?
  9. Congrats Stuart, welcome to Centurion
  10. Use upper ammo belt and far right rivet covers. 1) Outer mounting holes are to be centered between the last box edge and the edge of the belt. (in grey) 2) 1mm-2mm from upper and lower bex edge to belt edge (in red) 3) Find horizontal center, measure out 1-1/2" each direction to establish 3" cloth belt width. (in green) 4) Chamfer corner edges 45 degrees from outer most belt edge to 3" cloth belt edge. (in blue)
  11. Thanks Aaron
  12. You're probably right, I swear it almost takes as much time to document the build as the build itself.
  13. Your belt is not that bad Brandon, the corners are just a recommendation.
  14. Hey Brandon, welcome back to your EIB review. We see that you have made the requested knee pack adjustment, perfect! Your armor contains all the necessary elements to qualify for EIB. With that, we would like to congratulate and welcome you to Expert Infantry . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we'll discuss observations made by your fellow troopers as well as our own. Sometimes changes and or adjustments are suggested so you can look your best. With that said we'd like to point out an area we feel could use improvement. Good news is this will not effect your EIB or future applications. It appears you've have taken off a bit too much of the corners of the ammo belt. The 45 degree cut should line up with the outer edge of the canvas belt proper, not past it. Not the sort of thing that could easily be remedied without replacing the plastic section of the belt, we really don't want you to go to the expense so this will only be a recommendation to make you look more accurate. Yours Photo Reference - Gallery Also, the flat portion of the ab button plate appears to hang over the ab section it's fastened and may require a bit more trimming, or this could just be a bad picture angle. If it is indeed hanging over we suggest you trim it back, if not, disregard. Centurion Suggestions: You have most certainly done a fantastic job on this build Sir, we expect to see a Centurion application from you post haste. Once again congratulations, and welcome to Expert Infantry.
  15. haha, yea well my mother told me if getting a bargain on something means buying more than one than do it. I literally have enough rivets, snaps every other fastener to build 10 TKs. Ridiculous I know
  16. Totally forgot about Echo's, yea those will work fine, heck I could have sold you some as I Baugh a box of 100 on sale
  17. For the record, with adequate glue you do NOT need inner cover strips, the armor will be strong enough as is. That being said, I use inner cover strips for cosmetic reasons ( I don't like seams), not strength. If you choose to go with inside strips just contact Terrell at ATA and ask him for a extra cover strip sheet (12" x 24" I believe), should be around $25 shipped. I do have a question while on the subject of cover strips. What width are you using on your front shins? They should be around 20mm and yours look a bit wide. It could be a bad picture angle but wanted to check. Keep up the great work
  18. So, for those of us who will not be fortunate enough to purchase a custom built HGT BFG from Clint's gun shop do you plan on posting the build specifications at the conclusion of this endeavor, or will we be left to ooh and aah for eternity?
  19. Hey Brad excellent looking build you have here . Before becoming a DO, and even now, I spend a great deal of time here and outside of the FISD helping and encouraging others in their builds. The most difficult time for me is when I ask someone to make a change in an area that a lot of hard work had been put into it. The areas Sly and myself have requested corrections, though a slight step backwards shouldn't be too difficult. Regarding the shim seams, they will need to be filled in so that they appear seamless. There can only be one seam on each side, and that is where the kidney and/or kidney shim meets the ab. There's a few ways you can go already mentioned by Sly, others are bondo, putty or caulking though may crack over time. The leg cover strips are to be 20mm, except for the calves which are 25mm. We normally don't sweat this too much unless something doesn't look right and in this case the gap between the cover strip and the forward return edge is pretty significant. The goal here is for the cover strips to follow as close as possible with the return edge. Our goal is here is to help you look your best. Again, as Sly has mentioned once you make those corrections and post some new shots the badge is ready for you. Let us know if we can be of assistance.
  20. Congrats Justin great job. Welcome trooper
