  1. Alright before we finish things off we do have another request. The forearm photos above we're assuming you're showing us the wrist side. If it is the CRL states there is to be no return edge on the wrist side of the forearms, in several areas there appears to be return edge. Please remove the return edge and submit new photos. Thanks Reference photo
  2. Hey Robert sorry for the delay, at the top of the page could you post a link to your EIB app page please, thank you
  3. Copy that. May I suggest you at least buy Tandy snaps or better. Sew-olgy are junk IMHO.
  4. Looking good Brian . Question, your shins appear to be a bit large in relation to your ankles, do you have muscular calves? As for the Ab to kidney, EIB no more than 1/2" gap between the two, left or right sides, though zero gap is preferred. If you have enough armor to overlap then I would suggest trimming to zero gap. Centurion - Zero gap on the left side, minor overlapping on the right is ok.
  5. Alright Brock thank you for your patience and thank you for your EIB application. Also, thank you for removing the paint on your Ab snap as recommended by your fellow troopers. Let's do this. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Very nice job on your build. Your armor meets all EIB requirements, Andrew and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry Brock Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor and accuracy. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Again, these are suggestions and recommendations. The accuracy is ultimately up to you. We have a few areas to go over so let's get to it. Starting with the helmet the Vcoder lines could use a little more definition as seen in the provided reference photo. A little touch up is in order in these areas here. Reference photo Hovi tip interior should be white as seen in the provided reference photo. We're recommending you paint this area. Reference photo Next is the shoulder ball gap. There should be minimal gap between the shoulder bells and chest/back plates. Definitely recommend tightening the top straps and removing more lower return edge to draw the bells in closer as indicated. Reference phoito Next we noticed the cover strips in the circled areas appear to be really wide. Cover strip width specifications are arms 15mm, legs (except calf) 20mm, calf 25mm. If your cover strip measurements do not match the specs we're recommending you correct them however, this is one of those areas if you run the risk of damaging your armor in the process it's up to you the trooper to decide if it's worth the risk. It will not effect any level of approval if you choose not to make the correction. Ab to kidney alignment should be parallel. The upper edges should be aligned with one another. We're recommending you make adjustments to align the two sections. Reference photos Waist belt sitting a little low on the right side. Though not bad we're suggesting you bring it up so that the upper belt resides at or lust below the lowest ab button. Reference photo Thermal Detonator retaining clip are a bit long and scraping against your posterior (butt) plate. The clips have specific measurements but roughly they should be 3", same as the cloth waist belt. We're recommending you trim these down. Reference photo Another minor issue is the TD screws should be flat head type and slotted. We're recommending you replace them with the correct screws when convenient. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for your Centurion application if you choose to apply. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. We have a couple area that will need to be remedied before applying for Centurion. The CRL states the drop boxes should be aligned with the outer most edge of the ammo belt. Simply positioning the drop box connecting strap them gluing it to the cloth belt should keep them in place and aligned. *For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap Apply glue here. Here's a reference photo And finally for Centurion your hand guards will need to be the flexible type. *For level three certification (if applicable): Hand guards shall be latex or latex-like, painted white, affixed to rubber gloves in lieu of plastic hand guards. Reference photo That's it, great job. Hope to see you at Centurion.
  6. Follow what the CRL states: ESB Helmet *For 501st "basic" approval: Traps (trapezoids on dome of helmet) and tears (area beneath the corners of eye lenses) are grey. Rear traps and tears have vertical black lines. Lenses are a flat smoke or green sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes. The “ear” bars have three or four bumps and are painted grey, with a black outline. Painting the bumps with rank stripes (highlighted) in black is optional. Frown is painted black and does not leave the teeth area. Eight or six total teeth on the frown are cut out. Tube stripes are medium blue, should be 13 per side, but can be 9 and 16 per side with the curve bends extending backwards. Vocoder (vertically ribbed chin detail) is painted black. Aerators/Hovi mix tips (cylinders on either side of the vocoder) are black or painted black. Tears, traps, and tube stripes should be decals but can be hand painted, or decals that replicate hand painted. Mesh may be used behind the frown to obscure the face of the wearer. Note: The helmet is accurate in detail and proportion to official references. Many commercially available helmets or those considered disproportionate in size or shape are ineligible. *For level two certification (if applicable): Ears shall have three screws used per side, one above and below the ear bar and one at the base of the helmet. Traps/tears and tube stripes shall be decals (with the correct ESB details), no hand-painting or decals that replicate hand painted. Traps/tears may be either ANH grey or a slightly bluer shade of ANH grey. Ear bars shall have four bumps only, not three. Correct 'Hovi mic' aerator tips. *For level three certification (if applicable): Ear bars shall have only two to three bumps painted in black (rank stripes). Neck trim shall be of an s-type profile rather than a u-type profile.
  7. Holy smokes Art, welcome back brother. As for your Ab and and chest as long as the chest resides over the Ab you'll be good.
  8. You never disappoint Q
  9. It's not bad at all, remove the excess glue.
  10. One more photo please, can we get a close up of the Hovi tips. Thank you
  11. Our pleasure brother. Vcoder outer edges should be more defined as seen in the canon reference photo. Removing some of the black on your helmet should do the trick. Congrats again
  12. Hey Jim looking good brother. Andrew or myself will be with you shortly. I agree with Joseph the pack could use a bit more weathering, frankly the pauldron and blaster could stand some also. Anyways throw more dirt on it and post a couple more photos and we'll get added the the elite force, HWT .
  13. Hey David, welcome and thank you for applying for EIB. Let's have a look your armor. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Without further delay, your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Sly and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations trooper . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestions may affect the application process, it will be listed separately in either the above EIB or below Centurion requirement sections. In our ongoing strive for accuracy we have a few suggestions to help you look your best. Though the following repairs will not effect your EIB application they are highly suggested , especially if you choose to shoot for Centurion. Starting from the top. 1) The Anovos ear mounting screws are incorrect. No fault of yours however, the screw type should be "V" head not the provided "Pan" head. We're recommending you replace these with the correct types. Don't discard these however, as they can be used to replace the Thermal Detonator screws we'll talk about shortly. Here's a reference photo from a screen used helmet 2) Frown paint over spray. Anovos is notorious for leaving over spray around the teeth. Basic 501st requirement as noted below is the paint is not to leave the teeth Area. Though most GMLs fail to check this during basic approval, at the higher levels we look at just about everything. Most applicants use mineral spirits and a Qtip to clean it off. In the event you remove too much paint if may be necessary to repaint the teeth effected or entire frown. Your's are not too bad but still worth mentioning. Helmet For 501st approval: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. Reference photo 3) Vcoder edge lines are too soft. Another area Anovos didn't quite get it correctly is the Vcoder. The screen used helmets have very definitive Vcoder paint lines where the Anovos helmets do not. We're suggesting applicants touch up the area as needed. Reference photo 4) Shoulder bell to chest and back plate gap. There should be little gap here. The bells should almost touching the shoulder covers. Besides readjusting the shoulder to bell strapping you also might try removing more lower shoulder bell return edge. This should draw the bell closer to the chest and back at the bottom. Reference photo 5) Upper back plate digging into your back & excessive gap. We've had quite a few complaints about this area in build threads. The armor should follow the natural contour of your body and on most individuals it doesn't. Anyway, if it bother's you there's quite a few threads dealing with the issue. Besides the improper fit we've also mentioned it is because it pushes your back plate away from your body creating a larger than normal gap. Reference photo 6) Cover strips too long in areas. In areas where your cover strips are extending past the armor return edge we're recommending you trim them back to the armor edge. Reference photo 7) Right forearm and/or bicep are a bit too high. This could be a simple photo issue but the right forearm as well as the bicep is sitting higher than the left side. We're suggesting you drop it down a bit. 8) Waist belt a bit low. Your waist ammo belt should upper edge should be positioned at or just below the lowers ab buttons. We're recommending you raise it up. Reference photo 9) Holster Chicago screws installed the wrong direction. The base should face outward. Quick and easy fix. Reference photo 10) Posterior overlapping the kidney. The poster or butt plate should reside below the kidney. A simple strapping adjustment should remedy this. Reference photo 11) Return edge on sniper knee. Worth mentioning is removing the slight return edge you have remaining. This area can be sharp, removing it also helps the area look cleaner. 12) Calf halves overlapping. With this type of armor, butt & strip, the armor halves should technically never cover or overlap the other. This could be a simple photo angle issue worth mentioning. 13) And finally another simple issue worth mentioning is the left shin being higher than the right. If you have any issues with your armor moving around there are several remedies that address this. Nothing worse than trooping and looking a photos later to see your shin turned sideways Centurion Suggestions or Requirements: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. We are please to say we have nothing to add here. That's it, just a few items to correct and you'll be ready to rock. Congratulations again and hope to see you at Centurion
  14. Did the clips come with the TD?
  15. Who loves you Q? lol Want!
  16. Hey Darren please post a link to you EIB application at the top of the page please. Thank you
  17. Alright don't kill me but would you mind rounding the corners of the traps and vents similar to that of the canon reference helmet photo.
