  1. Hey Joe got a photo?
  2. Hey Michael, we understand your concern regarding proper shim installation Andrew is suggesting. Though he mentioned ABS I'm sure what he meant was the process of creating one seam, not necessarily using ABS paste on PVC. Before anyone knew about ABS paste there was the lingering question "How do we accomplish this?". We're always looking for pioneers to pave the way, maybe that's you, who knows. If you Google plastic repair there's a whole host of ways to fill in seams on different types of plastic however, as we always state "the accuracy of the armor is ultimately up to you".
  3. Hey Paul we appreciate expert armors like yourself following our approval threads. As mentioned this is an approval thread, not a discussion thread posed to staffers regarding requests and decisions we make, or current CRL requirements. If you have a concern please post it in the staff section where the rest of the staff can also respond, let's not derail Michael's, or any other applicants application. In the future please refrain from making such posts on EIB or Centurion threads. Thank you.
  4. AH HAHA
  5. Regarding the Anovos, is that see through screen between the teeth or lighting reflection?
  6. comfy-ness", I like it
  7. Sorry can't edit posts but the link is for white, it's obviously available in black and usually $7 cheaper than in the store for the same quantity.
  8. If you find yourself using a lot of it later it's cheaper to get it through Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006HWYJM/ref=sxts_bia_sr_2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3182441022&pd_rd_wg=p60H6&pf_rd_r=EMQJN7VGNFAC7RSZCM0J&pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-top-slot&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B0006HWYJM&pd_rd_w=wbFCh&pf_rd_i=VELCRO+Brand%2C+Industrial+Strength+-+2+ft+x+15+in+-+Black&pd_rd_r=VV3RKWQVK3TB4WFW52B0&ie=UTF8&qid=1504112814&sr=2
  9. If they're not on my brackets they're mounted directly where you described, near the pockets behind the hovis aimed toward the side of my face. The industrial velcro doesn't need much contact surface to hold, especially with the small light fans.
  10. Glad it helped. I use hard hat liners all all my costumes. When I first started using liners I glued as you did but after a few troops things began to come loose, I now use industrial strength velcro. As for the cooling fans I use the same velcro for them as well, it's strong enough to hold the fan in almost every condition imaginable. The industrial strength especially is thick enough to elevate the fans off the helmet which provides shock absorption and noise reduction. Hope this helps
  11. Nice . If you find yourself having issues with the glue sticking I would suggest switching to velcro.
  12. Can't be good for the PR department
  13. Who, Anovos or their customers?
  14. I guess if there's a silver lining to the story it sounds like they actually care about the accuracy and the ease of assembly they advertised, granted this is something they should have caught a long time ago.
  15. Hey Bones good to see you back at it. Well it appears the tutorials or HOW TOs I would have referred you to here on the FISD don't have any photos due to the photobucket policy change however, there is a youtube tutorial that is pretty good. I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on the video but you'll need to fill in the shim seam once finished. There can only be one seam at the Centurion level. There are ABS paste tutorials illustrating how to do this.-------------- As for material I suggest cover strip material as it's tough. Most vetted armorers sell sheets separately. IMHO ATA is a close match though not perfect. You can find the armorers in the "Armor and where to find them" section. Hope this helps
  16. Fingers crossed for all those with orders. This reminds me of the dreaded F-11D blaster fiasco of pre SW7, what a nail biting nightmare.
  17. Hey Mike may I suggest not overlapping the armor when you're test fitting, you're losing roughly 2" or 5 cm of room you need to account for. Also, when you assemble the armor that's the method you'll be using. Butt the two haves against one another then tape and measure.
  18. Reminds me of my ATA rebuild. Love the tenacity.
  19. Shin looks good. As for the belt the first thing I see is the 45 degree corners should align with the outer edge of the cloth belt like so. Holster placement if shooting for ANH Stunt
  20. The current ear screws can be used as the TD screws. The resemblance is sheer coincidence. Reference photo
