  1. I think we've seen on these forums, the 501st forums, and Facebook that the tools are definitely as useful as the people using them. All environments have definitely turned toxic at various points depending on how people use them.
  2. I won my paypal dispute and should be refunded shortly. They seem to have completely disappeared. I don't think this has anything to do with Facebook Wyatt. People have been burned equally by vendors selling here, on FB or anywhere else.
  3. Yep, I'm actively waiting for my PayPal dispute to complete with these guys too. How unfortunate. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
  4. No, that part angers me because I've never been invited to such a place. The rest of it sounds good.
  5. Along those lines, I'm wondering if you should rename it to "First Order Stormtrooper resources" to drop the emphasis on it a bit and make it seem less official.
  6. Ok, I've removed specific armor vendors from the guide and also changed the description to be more clear that it's not an endorsed vendor list but more just a community made helpful resource.
  7. Hey guys, I assume you're referring to the first order Trooper resource guide. That's something I threw together so it's very easy to just remove stuff if we think it's too controversial. Should I remove it entirely, or put a note on it that the source of the armor is in question? I'm fine with either. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
  8. More improvements is always good news! Love these latex gaskets. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
  9. I've been using IG latex gaskets for a year and I have to say I love them. They are hot yes, but very flexible and look very much like the on-screen versions. The ANOVOS gaskets weren't workable at all. I've been super happy with the flexibility and just can't take the major dip in screen accuracy to go with cloth as it's very hard to replicate that level of groove.
  10. I moved mine because ANOVOS explicitly said we could share build threads after the reveal. I totally get people being unsure of that though with any NDA still in place. I interpreted it as the "other party" of the NDA dismissing that restriction. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
  11. Did you miss the run Tony? I sold 100 of them. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
  12. All of this discussion is part of the reason why I'm glad ANOVOS exists - even with the horrible customer service many have received - because the dark and shady territory of armor sources is tiring and never-ending. Everyone is copying something from someone - anything from an idea all the way to pure recasting of a kit. I had a kit that I didn't really know the true source of and I didn't like the awkwardness from some members even talking about it because I certainly didn't intend to enter that battle by buying a kit. Going forward, I prefer to have something licensed - not at all because I'm in love with a particular vendor - but because I don't have to become a forensic specialist to be proud of what I'm wearing.
  13. It's been a while since I posted - and this is a very underwhelming post at that - but I did a little "upgrade" to the cannon this weekend by adding Torx screws based on what I saw in the Visual Dictionary. I think it adds a little sense of realism to the thing. Can't wait to tote it around PCC next week!
  14. That's sweet! Gotta get one.
  15. Hey Pascal! I'm pretty sure I scaled them before printing because I didn't have my printer guy do any modifications. They should be good to go. It has been a long time so I'm a little fuzzy on it, but I think so. The rest of the gun was a total hack job so I'll be curious to see your approach! Maybe between the two of us it will leave better direction to manufacture parts for this.
  16. Sweet! Im in for one of these.
  17. Yeah, that's got to be a flashlight.
  18. There's also the vested trooper with megablaster (heavy gunner) and a few guys carrying what look to be flashlights on their holster.
  19. I actually like the fiberglass helmet too, though it did take getting used to. I also think my favorite configuration to troop in is the one Tony is using. The vest and rifle really gives the trooper some weight and it's relatively comfortable. The riot stick and heavy cannon however quickly fade from "hey, this is fun!" to "how much further is the changing room where I can drop this crap off."
  20. Thanks for sharing! It's certainly overwhelming getting going, but next thing you know, you're one of those guys who says "I built it!" when kids and adults alike ask where you got your costume. Enjoy the ride and keep representing the 501st with a hidden smile!
  21. The ones I came up with are already available here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/34133-heavy-gunner-greeblie-3d-print-files-available/
  22. Maybe if it was a Hyperfirm. This sounds like the start of a really weird sales thread...
  23. Ok, gotcha. I didn't realize these weren't painted. Yeah, the paint aspect of this is a huge pain because I do maintenance after every troop. I can see that argument that it's a lot of unnecessary additional work for that. I'm curious how the yoke looks on these? I know with the ANOVOS there's no way you could do it with straight ABS and no finishing layer because the edges were very obvious and rough.
