  1. Thank you, think I got the ab plate pieces correct, but will take photos and post after Comicon this weekend. They are not glued on yet so if need be can trim further. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Yes, the helmet is iconic and I find myself looking at it every day and smiling. It's worth doing it first as it gives such a sense of accomplishment after soooo many years of waiting to become a Stromtrooper. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. That's pretty darn close Jeremy, and thanks Steve, luck i bought 6mm then. Sorry I haven't posted progress photos as was setting up for Comicon today but basically i am ready to start strapping all together....oh and yes...still haven't done that damn sniper knee plate...
  4. Help please, can't find what width the white elastic is that holds down the shoulder bridges at the back, in mm ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. I agree with You Steve on the accurate placement of rivets, that being said, in one of your images, you show a couple of alignment lines at bottom of Ab and kidney to show location of rivet, what about the accurate location of the cut out at the base of the kidney (new inclusion for Centurion) this will mean that anyone with Armour that doesn't have this moulded, will potentially have this cutout in the wrong place as well, like I will with my AP kit. Is this moving forward, going to be deemed as an incorrect mod or location? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks, no not glued yet just taped. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Can i get away with 25mm cover strips on the back of my shins and thighs? I don't need them for size cause the 20mm will work, but the way the back of my shins are, 25mm would give me a better area for the Velcro to close them(shins only, thighs will be glued). Shins can be seen here with the 12mm ridge left on both sides, can trim it back 5mm on the side i will glue the cover strip to leaving me a lager area for the velcro, but it will be getting tight around the boot as i have a good fit in its current state.
  8. inner and outer drop boxes trimmed.
  9. Still haven't done the closures on the rear, just a test fit, shot is taken from a higher angle so looks like the cover strips are too short, but not when you look at them. Test fitting the thighs, one looks bigger than the other, have been stuffing around with these for a while, and even when the measurment internally at the top is the same, one still looks larger....WTF Any hints tips,
  10. is there any specific measure for the amount of material you leave around the edge of the larger button plate for the abs?
  11. Excellent ideas there, I have all the bits and pieces, just need to install them now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks for the feed back guys, will have a good play around with the shin/sniper plate tomorrow.
  13. Thermal Det complete.
  14. Thanks Germain, I have thought about the bucket of hot water bending thing, as i will be doing this to curve my belt and knee pack. well if its crooked, it's crooked, but it is still a struggle to even get the edges to line up with the ridges of the shin.
  15. I am becoming more convinced, I have the shins back to front, as this damn sniper plate will not sit straight on the shin I think is the left, but it fits better on what I thought was the right. It sits crooked and off centre. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  16. Got cracking on the Thermal det today, all parts trimmed to as accurate size as possible. Also tried my hand at making the Det clips, were a little time consuming to tweak but not too difficult to bend up. thank goodness for the FISD help tips.
  17. Slowly getting parts assembled. Biceps now glued. Had a look at the sniper plate attachment to the shin, very difficult to line up I must say, and not exactly sure how much to trim out of the back of the plate to get it fitting right..
  18. Trimmed the cover strips a little on forearms
  19. I have a bicep question. Do I line up the bottoms and leave the tops uneven, as the cover strips will cover the height difference ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Try and keep the return edge as it makes the armour look thicker than it is. How do they fit as they are in your images. They need to be comfy, so if you flex your bicep it should touch the side, but you don't want them too loose. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. I have cut 25mm, but recon I could get away with 20mm, in saying that, the extra surface area for the Velcro on back of the shins would be better. Thigh and shin/calf area would look better from rear at the same size.
  22. Cover strips for the Back of thighs and shins. Is it 25mm, or is 20 still the most accurate? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. It would be good to keep all dimples for accuracy. My AP only has 11 per sides as L and R are duplicates in their armour. As far as where the wrist finishes on you arm, first you need to look at the gap between bicep piece and top of fore arm. You need minimal gap at that end, and still be able to bend your arm. (Screen accurate has very small gap). The gap between your wrist and hand guard doesn't matter. If your forearms are too long for you, trim the wrist end leaving all dimples, but entirely removing the return edge. I have an image in my build thread of the wrist ends with no return edge left, check it out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Think I worked out the thighs, rough tape job at the mo.
  25. The next topic. How do I work out which part is which and L or R on the AP thighs?
