  6. And here Tim & I were wondering "Where is Cricket?". We were looking for you everywhere... One thing I'm very happy about is that we let everyone with a racer shirt in the photo, which is a break from the past. Also, I think it fitting that Tony & Andrew are in the front. Those two gentlemen have been the castles (foundation) of the EI program for so long.
  7. FWIW, in the end it's your GML's call, we can advise but this is our opinion. We don't have authority to override your GML. That said, most are pretty reasonable.
  8. I couldn't find the screenshots that I wanted, but you can see him in glory on the Sideshow toy. He was one of a pair that was pursuing Rey & Finn through the market before calling in the TIE fighters to bomb the place. https://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/star-wars-first-order-stormtrooper-jakku-exclusive-hot-toys-902579/
  9. I agree with Tony - usually if someone is WIP we let it go. It's not a huge issue, and we would understand someone would upgrade later. It's what I would do as a GML (and I'm a GML ). You could have him talk to us ;-)
  10. Actually the Jakku guy has a side arm, vest, and a pack. The only thing he's missing in terms of accessories is the pauldron. You can always swap out the pack for the heavy cannon though, or vice versa. I did see one Jakku full up person including pack at Celebration.
  11. Thanks! Did you make that one yourself?
  12. So it's been awhile since I've had an ANH TK and I'm a bit out of touch in some areas alas. What are people using for SE-14R holsters these days?
  13. I talked to a bunch of people at Celebration including GMLs and Attaches, and the anecdotal feedback is that the cracking used to be in certain parts such as the shoulder straps, however after 6 months of trooping they are appearing elsewhere now too. Chris - that's an interesting notion about the cause of the problem and the result you are seeing. Can anyone suggest a list of areas that we can put in a poll to see where common parts are? It would be great to get some additional data points. FWIW, I spoke with ANOVOS and their recommendation is to 100% use their support ticket system so they can start capturing data as well and make changes, vs. just contacting via email.
  14. Perhaps someone in that garrison could give us a local opinion? I'm curious to know what they used as a base...
  15. I can rest easy saying I can now say I hung out with Pretzel as well. Steve is right - hanging out with FISD peeps was for me the highlight of the con. Dang, we have some really solid folk in this detachment.
  16. Yup, that was me. Well, I look shorter but I'm a step down from you, but you know what I mean
  17. Hey Brian - I just got back from Celebration and will try to look at this later tonight.
  18. Doh! Had I known you were next to me, I'd have given you some special SWAG for EI 700. #missedopportunity
  19. I will post pix once the box arrives to show the damaged part, and will also start working with someone to help create the rigging.
  20. The situation is that one of the parts broke in shipment, though I was able to tape it together. The second part was that I didn't have the proper tools with me on site to make straps sufficient to bear the weight, and given that it's 3D printed the concern was if I jury rigged something and it broke & fell, it would break apart. So I made the decision to ship it back home where I could have enough time to really think about how best to do it, and ensure that I have a handler in case something broke as I walked around. Also, I'll be working to get a new chest/back from TM or perhaps ATA to put magnets on and see if that works. In hindsight, I was just too ambitious to try to do this on-site in Orlando.
  21. The next newsletter is going to be epic at this rate. I came back with 65 action items from 4 days. Brian - huge kudos for organizing, promoting, and pushing the Cocoa Beach photoshoot - if that is the teaser than I'm sure we'll all be blown away.
  22. I wonder if that is just for BF2, right?
  23. That's what I meant to say
