  1. Yeah, I see that. It's pretty neat, eh? Thanks. This is the first post that I can understand regarding this topic in terms of its utility. I'm convinced, the feature stays
  2. To be clear, I get why people click it. My point being though if no one notices or otherwise pays attention to it, what's the point? You are basically speaking with no one listening to use a metaphor.
  3. Do you mean your group? It is underneath your picture where it says "Imperial Attache[TK] and then you also have an Imperial Attache group icon, so you are doubly listed. Or, do you mean your Attache Award for outstanding service?
  4. I get that people click it, but what I'm asking is, the data that is collected, it seems it is never used. We don't do anything with your "likes", there is no list of "most liked content today", or "top liked posts of all time", or "trending likes". It's not like Facebook. IOW, what I'm seeing is that people are "liking" stuff for themselves, but no one is paying attention. It's like in the series Lost where the guy is clicking on the keys, but no one is paying attention anymore. So aside from giving you the "liker" a feel good moment, it seems a pretty useless feature is my point.
  5. I hear you. Thankfully you can drag/drop photos directly to posts now, which will make it far, far easier.
  6. Yeah, like the Like button. People click it, but it's otherwise not used for anything. I'd like to turn it back off (I was the one who turned it off). For instance, we don't in any way surface the like information or sort or use that data. Other than giving people something to click on, for a forum like ours it's pretty useless, compared to say a purely social forum.
  7. Greetings Stormtroopers! Our incredible webmaster Eric Brager (Darth Aloha) has completed the long, long overdue update of our forum to the latest version. One of the cool new features is being able to drag and drop photos directly in to posts. The boards are now modern and on par with our sister detachments of MEPD & SpecOps (and even IOC). Over the next several weeks we'll be doing some small UI tweaks here and there, however if you do see anything out of line, do create a post in the tech center and we'll start taking a look. Note, some pages like the EIB/Centurion list will need to be re-created, but should be easier now. So there are a few things that we know we need to do. Thanks for your patience, now let's get the party started!
  8. Only for you Frederik ;-)
  9. This is way too valuable to not pin. Pinned!!
  10. 2 posts deleted.
  11. FWIW, the 501st does not take part in political rallies, and never has to my knowledge. Joseph did post a great link to our Ops Protocol which is worth the read.
  12. This is a 501st forum and the 501st doesn't tolerate discrimination based on age, race, gender, or sexual orientation. If you don't like those rules, then you are free to join the Legion and agitate for change via the Legion Council. Until then, FISD will comply with all 501st guidelines. End of story.
  13. Guys - this thread is for LGBT troopers to express support for each other, and as 501st members they have the right to do so. If you want to discuss politics, go somewhere else, or your posts will be deleted.
  14. Tim (XO) is working on the TFA CRL to get L2/L3 in there. Tim - can you provide an update?
  15. In the movie were they hand painted like ANH, or stickers like ESB/ROTJ?
  16. Oh, and we *will* need really good pictures for the CRL. Jim - would you be able to submit those on a neutral background? We need something high resolution, but that we can easily photoshop. Or, if someone else has already built Jim's kit, that would work too...
  17. Thanks everyone. I cleaned up the wording and formatting to make them consistent with the way 501st does their CRLs. Jim - I took your notes and blended them in before posting. You can see the FIRST POST for what it would look like. I'd like to call this "done" next week. We can make minor tweaks to the language. FYI that it is a visual CRL, so we don't have to be perfect in all descriptions. "Look like the picture" can be fine if we provide clear text that helps GMLs decide what is acceptable or not. I *think* I got everything, but it would be great if folks can double check.
  18. I want to thank everyone for all their input over the past week. I appreciate everyone having an open and respectful conversation regarding these costumes and being respectful of each other. We are all on the same side after all. I've been thinking on this quite a bit this past week, and right now my inclination is to have both the variations with packs be covered by MEPD, and we'll retain both the clean & dirty unaccesoried R1 TKs. FISD already has this guy: Which can be a lot weathered (like in the Jyn escape sequence) or lightly weathered and carry a Lewis gun. MEPD will start work on the CRLs for the Jedah/Kyber sandtrooper The rigid pack character only shows up in this fake(?) picture and the sideshow toy. I think we can let MEPD own this if they want, as it will be similar to the Jedah/Kyber sandtrooper and is meant to be a similar character. Since we are very near the R1 CRL, my presumption is that MEPD will let us complete it, then use the same text as the basis for the sandtrooper versions of this costume, just like the current MEPD CRL started with the FISD one as a base to ensure as much re-use and commonality as possible. I'll start helping focus the FISD staff to concentrate on finalizing the R1 TK CRL for now. It's been a long time since the movie came out, it's a bit lame of us that we haven't driven in to completion. I'll work on that tomorrow afternoon as best I can.
  19. Nice! Great start
  20. Yes, originally what are now called sandtroopers were simply deployed stormtroopers. After the filming on Tunisia, the sniper plate, TD, drop boxes, and ab plate cover were added. Besides dirt those are really the only 4 differences. In theory you could also say that FISD is meant to be clean configured TKs and MEPD the home of deployed troopers. This is why - again in theory - if it were done all over again, the HWT and both types of dirty/packed R1 TKs would be on MEPD, and FISD would simply be non-deployed TKs. Or, there would never have been an MEPD. But since we have an MEPD, and since MEPD is working to change their charter from only having ANH deployed TKs to include R1 and EU deployed TKs, hence the question on having the those 3 costumes move to MEPD. See my more recent post on really this comes down to MEPD proving to the current HWT's that they will be just as welcome and nurtured there as they've been here.
  21. Both Tim (Dark CMF) & I had have had a bout of Darth Real Life lately, it's certainly coming in July for sure. R1 CRL will be complete as will the HWT costume segregation. Not sure if TFA re-write will be done by end of July though...
  22. Am in the only one getting...effervescent? Man, this is going to be one screaming E-11.
  23. Yeah, and you have Flagship Eclipse too. Pathfinders URL is BikerScout.Net. Those things will never change. MEPD will ever be MEPD...
  24. Just a quick note to say that I appreciate everyone's being civil in this discussion. I sense a lot of passion on the topic and appreciate that people both feel free to share their thoughts & feelings, and the mutual respect for each other's viewpoints.
  25. Thanks! Here is what I'm seeing so far: CURRENT: There is one HWT CRL trying to cover a variety of base armors and accessories. This is causing a lot of problems as the original base armor is pretty much ANH-type, later version are ROTJ type. SOLUTION: 1. Have current HWT focus only on the original game using ANH armor/helmet as a base. Call it "Heavy Weapons Trooper (Battlefront)" 2. Create a new CRL for the current game version, which is ROTJ based. Call it "Heavy Weapons Trooper (Battlefront II)" 3. Create a new CRL for the magma trooper, called "Magma Trooper (Battlefront II)" Sound right? I'm thinking for items #2 & #3, perhaps allowing ANH armor for L2, but then forcing ROTJ or modified ANH for L2/L3 to start. Thoughts? Lastly, I'm wondering if we can loop this guy somewhere, I'm guessing as a "Stormtrooper - Force Unleashed", if anyone ever wants to do one. It's an ROTJ body with ANH helmet & handguards, essentially an unpainted TKC or ICN. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/18647-high-resolution-phase-iii-tk-images-7-images/
