I never got the hard hat liner to work for me. Used it only on my first troop, never after that.

I haven't seen one in person, but from the pix I can't imagine it not being 501st accepted while the FX is. It's a nicer helmet at the same price $130 or so I'm told after shipping. Heck, we should take up a collection and send one to Joey!

Correct. In ANH at least it's pretty clear to see that they used this method, e.g. a white fabric strap that does the actual connecting and the plastic part is just glued in front, and dangles in back.

I have a pix somewhere on the board that shows everyone after doing the Rose Parade. On the bus ride there, lots of people standing. On the bus ride back, not a single one. Everyone was also sitting on park benches after the parade chomping on our In and Out burgers (yum). All this w/o cut cod/back. Everyone's body is different and it depends what you're sitting on. Looking around the bus it seemed the barrier was the thighs, with many unclipping them to let them slide, not the ab/back itself. For park benches, etc. it took a little maneuvering (hey - they're not a flight suit) but was very do-able.

Every time we hit a milestone I like to take an opportunity to look back. I remember wondering if I'd ever get enough signatures (10 needed) to start this detachment, and had to hit up my garrison mates to get people to even look at the site. My how we've grown. Thanks to everyone who's contributed even a single post to this wonderful home we call FISD. It reminds me why we're here.

Elastic straps with velcro. I did this on my shoulder straps as well. After a few troops, I remove draw a line in pencil where the connection it, remove the strap, remove the velcro, then re-attach using E6000.

You know, this is an absolute worthless post. Sorry to call you out Jonah, but you do it often. If you have an idea, describe it in detail. Pictures help even more. But being a tease like this contributes to nothing but your post count. On topic: what I did is what most do - I just used three strips of 3" velcro - one about an inch from each side and one in the middle. At somepoint you can use E6000 to glue the strap on (some use rivets, but alas these leave the rivet heads visible which is not appealing), but I'd start with velcro first at least on one side, which allows you to adjust it up/down until you get it exactly where you want. It took me about three troops to get it where I wanted it, but hey maybe I'm just slower than some
